First Practice date for Spring announced . . .

We will start practice February 17th at 6:00 at Granite. Please keep the girls active and as in shape as possible.

Academy Open House

Tuesday and Thursday this week are Academy Open House (

Triumph Cup

http://www.soccerincollege.com/TTIntro.aspx?tid=TRIUM&tab=1 is around the corner. It will be the weekend of November 22 and 23rd. We will play at least three matches, four if we make it to the championship. The entry fee is $350, which breaks down to $31.81 per player. Let me know if this is going to be a problem for anyone.

Additional matches

Our match vs. Decatur/DeKalb Y has now been confirmed for November 15th. We are still trying to determine an actual time. The match will be at Granite.

We may have an additional Sunday match at Granite over the next three weeks vs. NASA. Franklin is trying to set something up.

Match tomorrow vs. Atlanta Fire United at HENDERSON PARK Field 2 at 5:00.

TYSA will be having a movie night at Henderson Field on November 1. Food will be sold and donations will be accepted to offset the cost of replacing the missing copper from the field.

Season Schedule is now close to complete

This Sunday's game is cancelled due to the gas situation

Henry County has asked for a reschedule, due to the current gas situation, so we will only have one game this weekend.

Directions:
From 285 take US 78 East, exit at Hugh Howell Road and turn right on Lilburn-Stone Mountain Road and then right again on Old Stone Mountain Road which changes to Five Forks Trickum Road. Keep straight through Mountain Park Community and turn left on Cole Drive. Park in the GSA parking lot or the Parkview High School Parking lot directly across the street.

Here's a great way to improve your skills and challenge your friends and family! Join the Academy Jugglers!

Academy Jugglers is designed to promote, encourage and challenge our players to spend more of their free time juggling. As we all know, juggling is an integral part of player development. It is also a known fact that all good jugglers are not necessarily good soccer players, but it is certain that all good soccer players are good jugglers. We want to encourage our young players to make juggling a habit because:

Players develop better overall ball manipulation skills
Players develop coordination, balance, reaction speed, learn to use both feet etc.
Players can set and achieve goals (personal juggling record) and also develop good work/practice habits and determination to reach those goals

Levels

Gold: 750 juggles - name on website, certificate, and t-shirt
Silver: 350 juggles - name on website and certificate
Bronze: 150 juggles - name on website
Junior (U12 and below): 15 juggles for Snicker Bar, First three players to juggle 20-25 times will receive a small official TYSA ball.
Senior (parents): 100 juggles - name on website and certificate

Process

All juggles must be done in front of a coach and not in front of a team manager, parent, friend, etc.
All juggles must be feet only!

Challenge to each of the girls . . . .

Coach Hong has challenged each of the girls to work on their ball handling skills. He wants to see if any of the girls can juggle the ball 15 - 20 times. Any girl who can will win a Snickers candy bar.

TYSA Board of Directors Elections

The TYSA Board of Directors elections will be held during the weekends of October 25-26 and November 1-2. You can fill out the ballots at Henderson Field.
