The Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) was launched in 2007 as a pilot program in Washington, D.C. by the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and reached new heights in 2008 by expanding in Columbus, OH. SEEK is a free, three-week long, summer program that exposes African-American students in K-8 to engineering in a fun, interactive camp setting. SEEK was envisioned by NSBE to help end the academic underachievement of African-American students and to build a pipeline of future engineers.
