The first community service project of the year was completed on August 1, 2008. Five Quotarians and eight-year-old Hanna Campbell delivered back packs to twenty five children at God's Little Lambs in Fort Lauderdale. Each of the back packs included a pair of shoes, two white uniform shirts, five pairs of socks and school supplies.
We are grateful, once again, to The Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale Beach for donating an additional $200 for the purchase of the socks and school supplies.
Chair of this project was Emily McCrater, assisted by Sheila Morris. These Quotarians did the shopping and packing. Carol Zeber assisted by printing out the name tags and gift cards. Everyone in the club assisted by helping to raise the funds for this project. See the pictures below. Among these children were fifteen off to kindergarten, seven to first grade, two to second grade, and one to third grade. All the children attending God's Little Lambs come from families who need a helping hand.
