I have been looking for a second car for a while. I have really liked the Intrigue since they came out. I would always rent one, and one once really saved my butt in the rain.
I was looking for something to get ready for my son when he turned 16. He really wanted either a six passenger car or a classic Monte Carlo, so I got him neither.
Actually, this car had a lot going for it:
1) GLS, with Bose stereo, dual climate control, leather, power everything, four wheel disc brakes, alloys.
2) Perfect colors - gold exterior shows little dirt, and light interior prompts cleanliness.
3) uhm, 600 bucks
4) A great project
5) shortstar 215 hp twin cam motor
So, here we go.
UPDATE: Car doing well as of Nov 2009. Liked it so much bought a silver 2000, running, $1000. Some of these pages involve work to it.
UPDATE: Both cars doing well as of June 2011. A variety of repairs to both, but beats insurance and car payment for new car. And they get mid to high twenties MPG. Not too shabby.
UPDATE: Both cars continuing to doing well as of June 2012.
UPDATE: The 99 made it to upstate NY, but died on the way to Virginia. I think it needs a new ECM, but that is TBD.
The 2000 keeps on trucking, but I think the blown head gasket might actually have been a crack in the intake port on the #1 cylinder - in very cold weather it will misfire and blow steam. But it runs great, gets close to 30 mpg, and has over 230K miles now (FEB 2014).
