VH Pecha Kucha
Some ADB photos were recently featured in an exciting Pecha Kucha event on Vinalhaven, ME. The photos ran alongside paintings by famous Maine artist Buckley Smith and were accompanied by the music of my good friend Brady Smith. It was a wonderful evening.

Panorama from Scotland featured in Study Abroad exhibit
From April 6th through the 20th a exhibit an exhibit was up in Bloomington's "iMug" gallery, featuring the winning submissions from a student photography contest organized by the Office of Overseas Study. The purpose of the exhibit was to use photography to highlight the experiences of former study abroad students. In the words of the curator - Hana Ros - "The goal of this photography exhibit is to inspire IU students to study abroad and to illustrate the beauty and diversity of the world through the lens of your camera." My piece was a two-foot long panorama I took in Insch, Scotland. It's entitled "Quilted Countryside," and proudly hung on the wall with other magnificent photographs from Bhutan, India, Mexico, Australia, and about twenty other countries. It was a great show!
Sanka's Revenge
Pictures from A Sanka's Revenge concert in Bloomington this March have been added to the music events folder. The images are meant to capture the band's lively, dubb reggae feel.
Two ADB photos to appear in Fiore Magazine
I was recently informed that two of my black and white pictures from the Lazy Black Bear Farm will be featured in the March/April issue of Fiore magazine: Bloomington's hippest new literary and visual arts journal. The images can be seen in my "Dogs and Cats" album. To learn more about Fiore magazine, and to download the March/April issue, visit

Steve Rhodes visits J210
This Thursday (3.5) WTHR (Indianapolis) photojournalist Steve Rhodes visited my Visual Communications class. The IU School of Journalism again asked me to take photos in class. An article about his visit and an ADB photograph can be found here on the
SOJ website.
High Sierra posters
My band The High Sierra just had our first show in Bloomington this past Friday (2.27) @ the Root Cellar. The concert was a huge success. I've added an album where I will post our concert posters (designed by ADB) from now on. Thanks again to everyone that came!
Dr. Betsi Grabe visits J210: Visual Communication
This past Thursday (2.26) Professor Betsi Grabe guest-lectured in my Visual Communications class. The School of Journalism asked that someone take photos of the event and I gladly volunteered. Dr. Grabe was addressing several issues raised in her newly released book "Image Bites Politics," which can now be purchased on
Amazon.comAn article about Dr. Grabe's recent visit (and my portrait of her) are now up on the
School of Journalism website.
Pictures of IU Greenhouse added
Just added a gallery of pictures from IU's incredible Greenhouse on 3rd St. They grow both jungle plants and desert plants so the place is constantly kept around 80*F. The Greenhouse is free to go to and is definitely a must-see in Bloomington. Check it out!
ADB photos purchased at "Art for Africa Benefit"
Two ADB Photography pieces were recently auctioned off during the second annual OHOT (One Here...One There) "Art for Africa Benefit." The event was held at Upland Brewery here in Bloomington and raised nearly $1,500 to be put towards integrating laptops into classrooms in Limpopo, South Africa. I've created a gallery above that shows my donated work.

ADB pic to be used on OnCourse landing page
During December of 2008, IU's online academic resource "OnCourse" held a student photo contest to revamp their notoriously lame collection of stock pictures. It was recently announced that a picture of me I submitted, taken by Emily McCaulay on my camera, was one of the few chosen shots. The picture features my silhouette against an Autumn sunset in Bloomington.
IU Racquetball Club uses ADB Photography
Kurt Richter - webmaster for the Indiana University Racquetball Club - has posted several of my pictures on the
IURC website. (click) The website also features an
article I wrote on the IURC for the Indiana Daily Student back in November.
Monthly Highlight Slideshows
I've just added a section to the website where you can download slideshows of a given month's best pictures. Enjoy January's slideshow (to the right) and remember to check back in month to month.
"I felt proud to be an American for the first time in years..."
I'm now working as a freelance photographer for the Indiana Daily Student here in Bloomington. The editors at the IDS have embraced me graciously and I'm learning more and more from them everyday. I've been attempting to merge my artistic style with traditional photojournalism, and the newsroom seems to appreciate that. So far I've had three pieces run, one of which went front page last Thursday. Here are some links...click on the images to enlarge.
