In lieu of Good Friday and Easter Day, I posted an extended trailer of 'Most', an award-winning Czech film, in the VIDEOs page. The extended trailer was compiled by a Christian for his Church a few years back.
'Most' means 'Bridge' in Polish and the film is about this bridge operator who had to make a painful decision between the life of his only beloved son and the lives of many others, perhaps undeserving strangers, in a train. The message of the film is strongly brought out through this extended trailer.
Many of you may have watched this already, but it's perhaps a good time to rewatch it again. And do share it around, please.
Visit Mostthemovie.com for the official trailer or to buy the DVD.
Click here for the original Godtube/tangle link of the extended trailer, if you want to leave comments or read comments.
And if you're interested in watching the whole film, I bought a copy of the DVD and am more than willing to share it.
All glory to God.
Every story ever written is waiting to get real - Inkheart - A movie outing to Marina Square saw a large turnout of over 50 people, including adults like pastors and elders, a large group of youths with a good mix of juniors and seniors, and of course, some children.
Thanks to the help of Janus, there were some photographs taken during the trip to the cinema (for majority of the group), and also some photos for the group who went for dinner later on. It was surely a good opportunity for the youths to interact with the adults, discussing about the movie - let us hope that more people will join us for the next event. All glory and honour to God.
Pictures are up in the Photos page.
Just a sidenote, but Godtube just had a namechange and became tangle. The link is available in the 'links' list if you would just scroll down our homepage, if you wish to take a look at the new site.
Part of One Love Awakening.
The photos are up (available in the pictures page). If you've photos of the event, it'd help if you could send them to me so that I can upload them here too. My photos were mostly extracted from Videos, so the quality may be lower.
Also, instead of writing about the event, I made a simple summarising video that should explain to those who were not present, the concept of One Love. Or maybe not. Anyway, it's a simple summarising video, available in the VIDEOS page. If you were there, it should be able to stir some memories. Thanks.
And I've not forgotten about Survivor 2. Like seriously.
All glory and honour to God.

A tribute for Agape's churchwide activities 2008. Soundtrack was sang by Agape Youth Christmas Caroling Team 2008. Available in the videos page.
Finally. A video of the 'Mary Did You Know' scene from the Agape Christmas Musical 2008. It was exactly a month ago, so happy reminscing. (Available in the videos page)
A word of caution, do lower your volume before you watch this. It's for your own good.
All glory and honour to God.
A tribute to the Agape Youthnet 2008
As we bid 2008 goodbye, here's a tribute video made for youthnet 2008. (AVAILABLE IN THE 'VIDEOS' PAGE)
After so many youth events, with the bigger ones like the Survivor Series, Youth Camp '08: Secrets, Christmas Eve Caroling, Youth Day, FOP'08, Hillsong United The Zone Youth Concert etc
and the not-so-big ones like the numerous Sentosa/Ubin trips, the countless mini-outings, the many soccer/captainsball/b-ball/v-ball/rugby/badminton/pool/bowl games, everybody's birthday, the several airport arrivals/departures, a couple of Chalets, a number of BBQs, meetings after meetings, lotsa coffee sessions etc
and not forgetting the not-so-just-youth events, like Christmas Musical, Children Camp, Korea Trip, Numerous Seminars, numerous Matthew Parties, Agape Challenge Trophy, Christmas Caroling, Agape 12th Anniversary, etc...
we're moving in to 2009.
It's been an event-filled year; and hence it's been an eventful year. Looking back, would you not agree with me that through all these mentioned and those unmentioned events (I probably missed out some), our youthnet has grown and matured? It's not just these events, but also any little interaction, like having a meal together after service or playing some strange games on a late Sunday afternoon in church.
My point in making this tribute video is to show that, indeed, 'friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them'. Treasure these bonds, my fellow Agapians.
All honour and glory to God.
God bless your 2009, and I hope the Agape Youthnet will achieve greater heights in 2009.
Do expect the following Videos in January:
Survivor 2 Summarising Video (it's just slightly overdue)

High Point A.K.A. Agape 21
The long-awaited Agape Challenge Trophy football game kicked off at about 3.15 PM, despite the slight drizzle and the wet field. While there were no children to lead the teams out, the Juniors side, clad in their bright red jerseys, and the seniors, clad in white, gathered together for a prayer before it started.
The game, with 8 onfield players a side, soon became intense, and the scoreline widened. Despite the rivalry on the field, everybody enjoyed the game with friendly teases and laughs at every fall, which was frequent, and due respect was given by both teams with every goal scored (which was frequent too). Cries of 'Kelong' were heard, typical of the Singaporean football culture, just short of the Kallang wave, a pity as there were not enough supporters for one.
It was a good opportunity for the adults to get to know the youths better (and vice versa), as the range of the players vary from 12 to Daddies (age undisclosed). It was often a humorous sight to see Daddy Lian Wen fighting for the ball with his son, or shooting the ball pass another son into the goal. While some of these adults may not kick footballs as frequently as the Under-21s, their skills and passion are definitely no lesser than our well-trained youths. Indeed, given another match, the result could be very different, and although our Above-21s lost, they lost in good grace and with something to be proud of.
The event was also supported by Elders Ming Hong and Xian Shan, the latter whom presented the trophy to the winning side, the Under-21 Juniors. It was a proud moment as 'Captain' Joel of the Juniors stepped up to receive the trophy, and he declared, "I've never taken a prize before."
Indeed, Agape is the place where you have an opportunity to try everything for the first time.
As for the runner-ups, they too enjoyed their moment of glory as they improvised with the trophy and turned it upside-down to represent their runner-up prize, promising that they will clinch the trophy (after more training) next year.
All in all, it was a successful event, with all due thanks to the organisers, whoever you are.
About 350 pictures of this event have been uploaded in our website, pictures' page. Majority of the pictures are not of print-quality, as the camera was not great enough to capture still-motion. However, as I ravaged majority of these pictures from the videos taken, be assured that you will find many pictures to laugh and reminisce about.
With that, we look forward to the next Sports Event - Survivor Ubin, this Saturday, 6th December.
edited on 14th of August, Thursday, 4.15 PM (Reason: added video credits to Sam)
There, finally. A video summary of last year's Christmas Carol! It's been a long time, that's true, but better late than never. It was actually done quite a while ago, but due to a mini-disaster and some miscommunication, it could only be posted here now. I do apologise.
The video can be found in the video page of this site.
It was filmed and edited entirely by Kai Qi and Samuel. If you like it, please go and tell them 'good job', because it was a lot of time and effort spent. If you don't like it, please go and tell them 'good job', because it was their first attempt.
It's definitely worth watching. Do note that it is 22 minutes long, so you'll have to make time to watch it. But please do, please do. If you've never been to carols and wonder how it's like, this will give you an idea.
Do look forward to more videos in the near future, of past events, or of certain things that you may not be expecting. If you're interested in the creation of such videos, do contact us and we'll provide you with RAW videos to work on. Really, once you take the first step, it's not so much a matter of skills, but more of attitude and time. If you've done a video, be it a slideshow of pictures or what not, as long as it revolves around Agape youth events, you can send the videos to us and we'll be more than willing to archive them here too.
and may all Honour and Glory be unto the Lord.
Yi Qi
An update, finally. It could have come sooner, but oh well. Better than never.
I've gotten hold of Ying Dan's Survivor 2 teaser/publicity/promotion/wadeva-u-call-it.
NOTE: I (Yi Qi) did not participate in its production at all! Ying Dan made it. Lots of people misunderstood, and kept coming to me to ask about it, so I thought I'd make it clear, since our dearest humble sister Ying Dan didn't tell everybody it was made by her.
By the way, do anticipate more videos on past events to grace our humble website soon. I'm aware of 1 or 2 currently in production, and I patiently await the chance to post them here. The thing is, they are all not made by me! Exciting right? If you made a slideshow/video of youth events, you can just drop me a note and I'll help you publicise them here. I'd be very willing to post the videos in our archives page too!
So, back to Survivor 2. I haven't received much information about it yet, but I shall create a page in anticipation for the event. It's about a month more to Survivor 2, so let's hope all things go smoothly! If you weren't at Survivor 1, then you missed something great, so don't miss out on the golden opportunity to go for Survivor 2!
For all who have exams and need to study (like me), don't let that be an excuse to miss this event! Study hard now! Like, NOW. If you have to study an hour more everyday to make up for the 24 hours (of 30th August) that you'll sacrifice by coming to this event, then do so!
For now, enjoy Ying Dan's magnificent animation, although this online version of it does not do her the justice because there was some (quite a lot) of quality loss during conversion. That is entirely my fault, so what you see online may not be very similar to what you see in church. But still!
Giving Thanks,
Yi Qi
Brief Updates.
A bunch of people played a game of touch rugby this afternoon, 13th July at A21. I happened to be there for a while, so I took some photos (125 of them only). Available in the 'pictures' page.
Added several videos, including quite a number of sharings about Youth Camp 08; a couple from the ubin trip; the crawling telematch by Bondad in YC08 @ ECP as requested by Isabel; and of course, a very short one about two old people lamenting their old age, freshly out from the oven from today's rugby game.
Usual stuff applies, if you see your face, and want me to remove it from the site, just tell me, I'll try to comply. If you have pictures to upload and need help, I'll try to help. If you want to help out with this website and gain administrative powers, the offer is still open, I'll grant them to you.
And of course, not forgetting the next big thing, Survivor II: The Battle, Aug 30th. It's the Saturday of your holidays, meaning that you've the September holidays to go out with friends, to study, to do homework, so do come for Survivor. If you're in the middle of exams, or if your prelims/ O's are coming, you should study hard in these 6 weeks to come so that you can go for Survivor. Be a survivor. Hopefully I can get Ying Dan's magnificent animation up soon.
If you surfed around this site you'd probably noticed already, I made quite a few changes in the layout.
Firstly, a few updates:
Youth Day Activity Pictures, courtesy of Xin Hui. They're at the main page currently, but I'm make sure they'll be in the Pictures page soon. I forgot to bring my cam that day so I'm grateful to Xinhui for her wonderful photos.
Ubin Trip pictures are up, all 350 of mine. Alvin and Samuel and Lijuan and maybe others have them too, I'll try to get them in the pictures page soon too. If you don't know what's the Ubin trip, poor you, you've missed a great activity. About Ubin trip videos, I'll have to sort them out first.
Regarding YC08 videos, I'll upload them at my own pace and keep you updated. I upload them at vimeo (because of the relatively higher quality), and there's a weekly upload limit at vimeo, not that I utilise it completely, but just understand that I won't be able to upload them all at one go. I promise All will be up this year, though. Serious.
I revamped the videos page 'coz it was getting laggy on my computer and that's very bad news. I'll try to make thumbnails soon, wow, lotsa things to do, but it's exciting. Well, at least for me. I deleted the out-dated Youth Camp page, and added a Pictures page. I'll try to archive all pictures in the pictures page, whether taken by me or by others.
Lastly, I have to publicise this cause... For anyone interested in helping with this website, like updating or simply maintaining it, or if you want to hold administration powers over this website, do come and look for me on any Sunday and I'll teach you how to use it. It's not difficult to learn, it's very user-friendly, just that it adopts a very unique style. For those avid photo-takers, I'd appreciate it you can upload your own photos too. I'm more inclined to teach you how to upload rather than uploading for you.
With thanks. And don't forget the next big thing, SURVIVOR II, coming at the end of August.
All Glory to God.
Yi QI.
Continued from the previous post (please read that before reading this).
On top of that, on top of photography-videography, video-editing, there's also an arty-farty section to publicity. We get to do posters. On computers, of course, I can't draw. You can tell from my handwriting that I'm an artist who has failed to make any positive impression. But if you're good with image editors like photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or the like, Why not make posters or stuff for Church Youth Events? If you don't have an editor and wish to learn more about it, I suggest GIMP, the open source, free image manipulator, which I believe is not poorer or weaker than photoshop. Start by gaining a sense of colour-combination and balance. Again, it takes time and effort, but then again, you're so smart it'd probably take you no time to be better than me.
My main motive for telling you this is so that you will gain awareness and be more on the lookout in the future. If you see a poster, look at the message it gives and the underlying message that it brings across. If you see a poster in church, don't just assume that it was done by outside people or that it's about some big event that you know you won't be interested in. Take a look, and realise that it's about you, and be concerned. That'd do us publicity people a huge favour and guarantee better posters in the future.
I believe that although publicity this time round was not done as great as originally planned, it was already one big step forward, hopefully it will be a beautiful chapter to the beginning of a wonderful story about publicity. We only had two people in PUB comm this time, and many thanks to Wei En for covering the photography section on top of his many commitments, and also to others who had helped out in one way or another in the filming process. I am not sure if the next event or even the next camp will see such methods of publicity, I'm not sure if I'll still be part of publicity next time if there's one, but I can only hope that the next time for publicity it will be a better one, and that it will wow you and inspire so much that you'll make time for whatever event it is. I encourage you to learn more about this seemingly difficult and challenging role; I encourage you to take on this exciting adventure for at least one of the events.
Lastly, I apologise for the very not up to par video that you saw on the last day of camp, it was very poorly edited, as many of you would have noticed, some of the pictures were not rotated, no excuses, it was clearly neligence on my part. I didn't have enough time to go through the hours of videos that I had and the thousands of images waiting in my folders. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with a more decent video for YC08 ASAP. If you have any other photos, please upload them yourself through this site too. It's not difficult, just play around and you'll get it. If you wish to do that, please inform me and I'll upgrade your status. If you really find yourself stuck and troubled, inform me and I'll guide you through it or upload for you.
VERY LAStly, I'll like to promote this site. So if any of you wish to help me to continue updating this site, please contact me, because I do not wish to close this site down, or let it turn into some ancient site with no new updates. One thing you can help out with, is by replying to those forum topics and commenting on anything. Voting at our polls would be nice, too. Do let your parents take a look at this site too.
Any feedback on this site will be welcomed and entertained. Just send me an email @ zorrow_coole@hotmail.com or zecqi@hotmail.com . They're both me. Or you can contact me at 917o7634. Please message me first beforehand, as I tend not to pick up calls from unknown numbers. Or you can look for me at church on Sundays, though I may be pretty hard to find due to a generic height issue. I do not mind negative comments at all. You can say it's a stupid site, I won't be hurt, I'll probably just think you have a bad definition of the term 'stupid'. Or you can request for me to remove your face from the ticker or banner. But if I put you there, it should be because you look so good.
With that, so long. I apologise for having a long-winded nature and a tendency to write essays. May all honour and glory be unto the Lord. (I believe in this era of internet crimes and sins, we can still use it to glorify the Lord.) God bless you, have a good memory, have a sweet night.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE READING PART II!
Okay. Now that the camp is over, it's time for a bit of publicity. If you don't already know, I'm Yi Qi and I'm in the publicity team for YC08, so it's only right for me to publicize publicity and endorse photograhy/videography and promote video-editing, no? Yes, so if you didn't already realise, being the cameraman is an amazing role, because you are not only invited to all meetings and outings and rackies, you also have to accompany the teams for their challenges! So basically, you get an extremely interesting perspective of everybody. If you are the videographer too, then it's all the better, 'cause you get to go around interviewing everybody and hearing lots of juicy stuff! Like what? Like 'I love YC08!' & 'The Camp Committee ROCKS!' & 'The videographer ROCKS!'. Well, you get the idea.
I just want to say that you really learn a lot more about EVERYBODY, and you see a different side of EVERYBODY. In a good way, to a larger extent. I know many of you have amazing equipment (cameras or camcorders alike), but you don't use much of them. Why not put them to good use for the next Church/Youth event? I can tell you right here right now that my equipment is of the lowest quality. I bet you already knew, look at the size of my camcorder! Pros use video-cameras that are twenty sizes bigger than mine. Ho-la. However, I also want to highlight that even if the level of quality of your equipment is low, it can still be used for God's work. I believe me and my poor camcorder is a good example. Still, you'll have to forgive us, due to the poor quality of our equipment, the night scenes outdoors were poorly captured, especially when lighting was poor (like the BBQ, the 'campfire', the night at ECP, and the break free dance night).
So yes. I believe everybody thinks it’s important to take photos or even videos and have memories to treasure and cherish. Imagine ten (or maybe twenty since you are so young) years down the road you stumble upon yourself acting as the prodigal son in YC08, and you show it to your son. How heartwarming would that be! Imagine 5 years down the road you stumble upon yourself acting as the gay-who-turned-straight and you show it to your GIRLFRIEND. How touching would that be! OH! (*eh by the way these examples are fictionous and random, they hold no truth or prophesies. I think.) You get the idea.
And that's not all. Imagine hours and hours of video footage filmed. Do you know what comes after that? Editing. I know many of you are not really aware, but please, if you see someone holding a camera and pointing it towards the stage, please don't happily just walk in front of the camera. Or please don't yaya-papaya-ly walk near the camera and shout across the hall: "JOOO-ELLLLL!!!" Wah. Everytime somebody flash by the camera when I'm filming, it adds up to 5 more minutes of editing. Everytime somebody shouts at the camera, I sigh, because I will have to edit out the voice (which is very very troublesome so I will usually just subtitle the video). And before editing a video, I'd have to look through it at least twice. Think about how many hours you spent on the Amazing race, the Sentosa challenge, the Kidnap Challenge, and all. Add that up, times two. That'd be the amount of time that I'll have to spend doing basic editing, ASSUMING nobody interrupts the video when I was filming.
I'm not asking you to sympathise with me, that's pointless, I just want you to gain an awareness and be more considerate to all photographers/videographers in the future. Accidents do happen, I understand, but do keep an eye out for who's shooting, and don't just run around wildly. I know that sometimes photographers or videographers like to shoot from the least expected angle, so you may not notice us. That would be inevitable. In that case, evil photographers like me will take revenge by like, making you do multiple jumps in the pool even though a proper jump-shot was already taken. Yes, I did that on purpose. No, that's a bad example, please do not learn from that. Revenge is bad. Very bad.
Also, I'm telling you this in an attempt to entice you into becoming more interested about video-editing. I know some of you may have some knowledge about it, some of you could have played around with Windows Movie Maker or iMovie before, or maybe, just as unexpectedly as the skits, some of you may already know much more about video-editing than me. Or hey, maybe you have a hidden talent for it. You never would know, unless you try, right? So if you're itching for a new skill, or aching for a new class to go for, why not consider video-editing? First play around with the free editor that is almost certainly in your computer: Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. Slowly gain the camera sense and that editing skill. If you find yourself comfortable with it, why not volunteer to be the next video-editor for Church/Youth Events? It may take a while to learn such things, but when there's a will, there's a way. I am not very good with them either. What mpg, avi, wmv, sometimes they drive me nuts. Certain formats cannot work with certain editors, and certain audio formats clash with certain video formats. In my computer alone there are many many editors and converters. It takes time and effort, but we're lacking manpower in this area. If you're already gifted with such a skill, do volunteer if possible, videos are a wonderful form of memory. Imagine 7 years down the road and you stumble upon an old video of yourself telling a lame joke. How refreshing would that be?
TO BE CONTINUED IN THE NEXT POST.
Okay. You should be able to spot quite a few videos that I've been uploading. I'll upload more now that I've some time. Go to the respective events' pages and scroll down.
As the countdown for Youth Camp goes into its single-digits, expect more updates to be made.
Once again, if you've signed up but do not see your name there, just tell KAI QI and he'll add you into the list. If you see your email address in our members' list but it's not blue, apparently it means you've yet to sign up, so please do!! I'm not lying, signing up will give you more access to the sites' features. Signing up will enable you to see certain videos that ought to be kept a secret!
And Yet another reminder: Registration for Youth Camp ends very soon!!!
This site is meant for the revealing of us Agapians' memories. New pictures will be uploaded on a day-to-day basis. We aspire to make use of technology to keep in touch with all Agapians.

Originally known as Godtube, mainly a Christian video-hosting website, Tangle is a family-friendly Christian Social Network and contains a large amount of touching testimonies and teachings about the bible. Many stories about the plights of other religions who are being oppressed can also be found. However, surf at your own risk, for we cannot control what is being posted in such sites. There's also a prayer wall and online bible there.
A very comprehensive online Bible. Can't remember where that verse came from? Can't remember what exactly is that verse? Their search function will awe you. I promise.
