We are proud to announce the final amount raised by the Agua for Africa group is just over $16,500! The kids couldn't be more proud of this accomplishment. We have been blessed by all the great support and enthusiasm the kids have received during this two year long project!

Maybe it sounds presumptous to say that we will have finished raising the final $1,800 to dig a well but I feel confident that, with the help of many enthusiastic people doing many wonderful things, over the next month that it is going to happen! Stay tuned as the last dollars are brought in by God's wonderful timing! Somebody, somewhere is going to get clean water!

When the staff at World Vision caught wind of what Ben was doing, word was passed along to Senior Staff Editor, James Addis, who called Ben up on the phone and personally interviewed him. What came of that was an exclusive article written for the organization's quarterly magazine and a special spot in the "Change Agent" column. Ben was very excited to see himself in print and we have been blessed by the publicity! When Addis asked Ben's mom why he was such and effective fundraiser, she answered, "It must be the freckles!"

Why 6K?

African women and children walk an average of six kilometers every day just to secure safe drinking water for themselves and their families. Can you imagine having to trek 6k (that’s 3.7 miles!) just for water? The Agua for Africa Project consists of a group of 9 children in the community who realize that even a child can change the world. They pursue the goal of raising $13,700, enough to drill a deep well in Africa, to access life-giving and disease-free clean water through various fundraising projects like this.

Agua for Africa is a group of ten children in the community who realize that even a child can change the world. This is exactly what we have set out to do. We want families in Africa to have clean water. With a goal of raising $18,000 for a deep well, we hope to do just that. We are aware that this is a big goal, but know that God makes all things possible. We had to convince our parents of this too! We are all excited to see what God will do. "With God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26    (The group was started by Ben Weber in November 2008 after he saw the need in a World Vison gift catalog.)
