The Allo's regularly fly at open days
The SAAF Museum was established in 1973 and is based at the northern section of AFB Swartkops. The base in itself is a national heritage site and is the oldest Air Force base in the world that is still in operational use and the Museums is home to the largest collection of vintage aircraft in Africa.
The hanger that houses some of the aircraft was erected in 1920.
The Museum holds a open fly day on the first Saturday of each month and aircraft regularly flown include the Harvard's, Puma, Alouette II & III, Bosbok, Kudu and C47 and Vampire. Not based at Swartkops but still airworthy and attending airshows are the Mirage IIICZ and FI.
Entrance is free and the public is welcome to attend.
This site is regularly updated.
