What a wonderful winter/spring we are having. The weather is awesome and I love being outside! Just some notes to let you know about my thoughts:
Summer is going to be coming up soon and I will have a lower kid count, so I am hoping that we will be able to do field trips to the zoo, parks and possibly wild water west. I also plan on spending a lot of time outside playing with water. And to make my life easier I was hoping to get all girls to have a 2 piece swim suit and a steady supply of swim diapers. Also don't forget some shoes that they can wear on the patio that can also get wet. Some day maybe I can figure something out so that doesn't get so hot. If everything works like I am thinking, we will be able to do field trips, if that is the case, I will also need a car seat for the kids. I know I have a couple boosters. I honestly can't remember what the child's weight needs to be on those. As of right now, I have plenty of sunscreen, so we will not need that. Once school is out, we can make those decisions.
I am also going to flip flop the house again and move daycare back downstairs now that the kids are getting older. This time, I am moving my office also and bringing all Shane's hunting stuff upstairs. So, it should strictly be my daycare area downstairs, along with the girls bedrooms. So, once this is done, we probably will not be upstairs very much. If only I could add on and have my own seperate playroom for the kids like in my past house! I loved that so much! Or heck, wish I could just build a new house again!
Easter is coming up, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hello all! Just wanted to touch base with everyone. This year is going great and I am happy to see it moving right along. Congrats to Noordsy's and Charron's on their baby news! I am so excited to have some new additions later this year!
Softball season starts for us already in March. We are headed down to Omaha on the 9th for an indoor St Patty's Blast. Ali is busy with both softball and volleyball this winter. I am trying to get a schedule going for days off this year, hopefully by the end of this week, we will have it somewhat set. I can say, that with some of the tourney’s that we travel to if the games end up going late on Sunday’s and we have to drive back, Monday’s may get a day off. Usually I can text everyone on Sunday evening and let you know if that happens. I just remember last year there were a couple times we didn’t get home until 1-2 o’clock in the morning and it was a struggle the next day.
So for near future days: I am going to close at 4 on the 9th, so we can get on the road. In April, we have Easter and my holiday schedules gives me Good Friday off. I am trying oh so hard to talk Shane into a little getaway that weekend, but right now, it looks like we are going to have to buy a new vehicle instead. But I wanted every one to know that this could be a possibility of Monday off also. In May, Memorial weekend we are headed to Des Moines. I am not sure if the tourney actually starts on Friday or Saturday. But I am pretty sure we will be heading down on Friday and coming home on Monday. In July, we are entering the World Series if we qualify, that is an entire week down in Des Moines. July 23-29. Those are some big dates that I know of, other than that, we are still discussing.
This summer, I will be low on kids. If you know of anyone who is looking for daycare and not needing an infant position, please send them my way. Thanks!
I am not a Christmas person, but I hope you are! I hope you are creating many memories and family traditions with your children! Christmas is a fun time of year to spoil the kids!
!NEED YOUR INPUT!
I don't think I had a set date on my calendar for Christmas break. I am given two days at Christmas and two days at New Year's. I am torn on when to take these days as the holiday's fall over the weekend. If I could get some response back to when you are taking your vacation days or when you can have family help you out, it would be appreciated. I am not sure if I should take the 26-27 off and 29-30 or spread them over the Friday - Monday. I was hoping to take a vacation this year with the family, but that didn't pan out. After this holiday, there won't be another holiday until Easter! I do know we are going to be heading out to California sometime in March. Just not sure of how long or when.
The end of the year is coming soon. I will have everyone's W-10's for taxes ready at the beginning of January.
I am looking for two new children. I am able to take a baby again. Or should I say I am willing to take a baby now that everyone is over 1. So please put the word out. If I can stay at 7 children, then I do not have to raise my rates. This is a comfortable amount of children for me.
Now, December is on its way, let the never ending festivities begin!
Fall is here and we are coming up to my favorite holiday! Halloween! I had a hard time deciding if I would decorate my yard this year as we are still into softball until the 23rd. But too many people have told me how they look foward to our house every year, so hopefully I can get it set up that last week of October.
Speaking of softball, thank you all who bought fundraiser tickets from my daughter, it is very appreciated as this is a very expensive sport as we are finding out. I will try to bend your tickets just right so you get drawn for the grand prize!! :) We are out of town the 21-23 for a tournament down in Lincoln, Nebraska. And from that last tournament that they had down there, everyone didn't get back until after 2 in the morning. So I think as a precaution, I am going to take the 24th off also so I am all rested. Other than that, the next upcoming holiday/days off aren't until Thanksgiving. I am closed the 24th and 25th. And to get out of hosting Thanksgiving this year, we may head out of town to my brothers!
We will sadly say good bye to Quintin and Braxton this month also as they are getting a nanny because of their schedule. We enjoyed the time we have gotten to know them and will miss them every day. But look forward to the visits we get from our past friends! So, I will have an opening now, for an infant and age 2 and up if you know of anyone interested.
The kids have made a great adjustment to the daycare moving upstairs! My hubby, not so much yet! But all is good and I am loving it myself. Just need a rocker in my "sitting area" so I can snuggle with the kids!
I think that is all for now! Enjoy the fall before the snow is flyin!
WOW! It is going to be school time in a few short weeks! We have had such a hot summer, we really haven't gotten to enjoy a lot of it. Thanks to all parents for understanding my schedule for the summer with softball. It really took over our lives. And to throw this out there, I am trying to sell our camper because we are so busy, so if know of anyone is looking for a great camper, have them give us a shout. We are also willing to sell the truck with it too. We don't need something that powerful if we don't need to pull a camper! I want to also let you all know that next summer will probably be just as busy with softball, so there will be Friday's and possibly some Monday's depending on how well they do. They are moving up in age division, so they probably won't be such big rock stars next year! I know that these weekend tournaments in different states made my Monday's pretty hard because we didn't get back until midnight or later sometimes.
We have had a few changes in the last month. We said goodbye to many of our great families. The kids will be either staying home or starting school! So now we are back to having younger kids, which will be fun to see their growth! We will be saying Hello to a new friend Tanner starting on the 8th! And once school starts we will get another 3 year old little girl, Sadie for the school year! We are excited to meet them!
That is about all I have for now. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Oh boy oh boy! It is the end of June already and I don't think we have seen more than a week of hot weather. Sounds like some warm weather is on it's way though. Just a reminder, that the patio is very hot and if we do water play, we keep our shoes on for the most part unless they don't like them on in the water. But they will get wet so make sure your shoes are water safe. Otherwise, there will be no water play for the day. Most parents have been great and provided enough sunscreen for the summer. If someone who hasn't donated sunscreen would like to donate a couple face stick sunscreens, as it seems we tend to get sunscreen in the eyes with lotion. And that makes for miserable conditions.
We are sadly saying goodbye to Sophie and Hudson this week, but welcoming Braxton, Quinton's brother. We look forward to watching him grow and discover the world!
Thank you for understanding with all our time off lately. I know it is hard to find alternate care. Just a reminder our upcoming days off are:
Close at 12 on July 1st -
Closed 4-5
Close at 12 on 22
Closed 25-26
Closed August 3-7
Wow, I have neglected this site! Sorry for that. I have now updated all the Vacations and Holiday's. Hopefully everything is current now. If you have a vacation planned, please let me know so I can pencil it in on the calendar. This will help me do planning for our group. Thanks.
Hopefully spring will show it's cute face soon. I am ready for warmer temps and time outside. No more snow please! Please remember to still bring coats and maybe a sweatshirt incase there are nicer days that we can spend outside. Also, if any of you are rummagers and are out and about and happen to see a good deal on outside play stuff like ride on cars, trykes, baby climbers, basketball hoops, etc. Please do not hesitate to grab it! I will pay you back! If you want to give me a call before to double check, that works too. But for the most part, if you would buy it, I would probably too! My little cars and scooters have about had it and are ready for the garbage.
We will be enjoying the company of some old friends for a little over a month. Preslie and Piper are coming back for the morning hours to play with the kids until mid May. I am excited to have them back with us again, even if it is just for a short time! At the end of June, Quinton's brother Braxton will finally get to join our family too! Can't wait to get to know him.
Other than that, I don't really have any exciting news, just excited for warm weather and camping season to begin!
