Cheer Family,
By now you are probably aware that I have decided not to coach again next year. My youngest son is graduating, and I feel the need to transition as well. I will teach Seniors and AP Juniors (American Studies) next year, and want to focus my energy and time on those classes.
I spoke with Ms. Houser some months ago about this decision and she was supportive. Much time and effort was spent searching for just the right replacement, and I am so excited that Coach Katie Raymond will be my successor at the end of May. She is the former UT Mascot and has been employed by UCA for the last six years, touring the country, and teaching. I know you will welcome her and support her with the same love and enthusiasm you have shown me.
We shared our transition plan with the team this morning, and I believe the team is excited about her experience and youth.
I have treasured the time spent with all of you, and look forward to seeing you at many events.
God speed.

We had quite a morning at Anderson High School.
We visited on-air with Principal Donna Houser. Anderson has a reputation for academic excellence. She also let us know about the students accomplishments in science, athletics and fine arts.
Science students showed off the robotics projects they’re working on.
Students from Anderson's International Baccalaureate program told us about how the program prepares them to do college level research papers and challenges them to do better in school.
We also worked in a plug for the school's upcoming production of the stage musical "Pajama Game."
And the swim team told us about having to practice out in the cold when a natatorium to allow them to work on their skills year round.

Cheer Family,
I am copying a sweet note from Sarah Frankenfield, AHS Project Specialist, who coordinated the event this morning. I too was very proud of our team!

Cheer Family,
I copied an email that I received this morning when I got to school. If you have an questions, direct them to Sarah Frankenfield. All the girls must attend Wednesday after-school and be here on Thursday morning at 5:15 in full uniform and make-up. I will have a paper-bag on my head...but don't worry, it will say "Go Trojans!"

Cheer Family,
Hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing break. We will kick off the spring semester with a night to honor our Seniors and their Families. Tomorrow night during half time of the Basketball game, seniors and their parents will be recognized. Prior to the game, 6:45 - 7:30, their will be a reception for seniors and their parents in room 11. All other cheerleaders and mascot will serve, and all must stay for the entire game. I will post on FB what to wear.
Take care.
