Andrew Durham: experimental shelter & transport - 8 - Conic Hut Upgrade

I moved across town recently. Of course, my conic hut (see below) came with. Disassembling it gave me the chance to change it. The main change is the addition of a horn-like awning over the door. I made it using Chuck Henderson's super-genius multi-conic geometry. The awning gives the roof a swooshy ridgeline from edge to peak. It gives direction and verve to the flow of energy in the room. I really like it. Besides the awning, there is: a smaller skylight; a new door frame; skirting to close to the floor/wall gap; and a piece to fill the new wave-shaped space above the door. Next: to seal, insulate, and ventilate the hut. Oh, and a latch for the door, too.
