Hello to everyone who still drops by to check on things.  There are some new things. 

As I said in my previous entries, the weather is changing, I'm spending more time indoors....so I've come back to the computer.

It has been a busy summer, volunteering, spending time with grand daughter, creating a Flickr site, managing my commercial site, and doing web editing...plus all the fun outdoors stuff. 

I hope you will forgive me for my absence and welcome me back!

Hello to Everyone,

I hope you haven't given up on me.  It has been an intense last couple of months.  Lots of volunteering, birthdays, and got a 'job' doing web content editing.....THAT takes a LOT of time.......not much time to shoot photos for fun. 

Hopefully, you will see more and more of me here as the winter draws on and cold, short days drive me indoors to the computer.

Thanks to everyone who continued to stop by and/or email.  I appreciate your faithfulness.  I will be 'visiting' all my friends sites soon - need to get this one cleaned up first.

I thought I would be back sooner....but life, work, and well, life.....have been keeping me pretty busy.  I haven't forgotten you all and will 'broadcast' an email to you all when I'm able to really come back and pay more attention.  I do MISS you all!  Thanks for hanging in there with me!

I have lots of news since I have been "out of pocket"....first of all "Happy belated Easter" to you all!  God is GOOD and I have been blessed.  So, here's the news (not necessarily in order of importantance):

1. I found out my photo submission to a local city gallery did not get chosen for display. 
2. Got 'hired' to shoot photos at a friend's mother's 75th birthday celebration.....NERVOUS....
3. Also 'sold' one of my prints!  Tah Dah!

I will be "out of pocket" for a couple of weeks and may/may not be checking the site and my emails.  (Don't take it personally if I don't respond right away.)  Will be completely back full-scale after Easter!  ~Vicki

Added explanations in the "slideshow" view.

Here are my tips.....

• Get a really good camera
• Take LOTS of photos (1 out of 100 may actually look like something)
• Think "outside the box"  - try to "see" things from a different perspective - notice patterns, shadows, repetitive shapes, contrasts, anything interesting - take a shot that you would normally take and isolate on just a part of it (you might be surprised at the result)
• "play" with tight, macro shots till you get what you want 

Really, I'm very flattered by the request for a tips page - but I wouldn't know an F-stop from an aperature setting (are they the same thing?)......thanks for asking, but my advice is just what I wrote above.  (If I ever learn the technical stuff, I will be glad to share what I learn ^_^)

Back from Tennessee and have uploaded MOST of the 400+ photos I took.  (It sure didn't seem like that many while I was shooting!)

The "Farkle" page will stay up for a little while and then I will take it down.  Photos are of friends with whom I went to Tennessee.  I HIGHLY recommend checking out the lodge website (Dancing Bear at Cobbly Nob) - the lodge is EXACTLY as it appears in the photos - with the exception that trees have been cleared for a better view from the back deck.  Great place for retreats, reunions.

Very cool Vicki! I like how you came up w/ the name Angel View. I'm new to the commercial site - I thought you made a TV commercial!! Duh!! So people can order your photography through this site?? Very cool!!
