Hi Michael. I feel so bad for never getting back with you after you gave me all that wonderful advise. Just to give you an update, I rented an 18-200 lens for our Durango Trip and it was just what the doctor ordered for that trip. I got pretty much everything I wanted and left the lens on most of the trip. It only cost about 60 bucks with tax, shipping and basically a five day rental if you count the day it came in. It did let me know that I didn't want to buy one though. My kit lens (18-105) really is all I need for a good all around lens. I have been looking at some other lens, like Tonika, as you suggested and am considering something in the 300-400 mm range. I will have to wait and save up, but I really want something that will reach out to the birds and some wildlife that I have going on in my part of the country. Okay, enough about me, wow, you have certainly changed things up around your homepage. Love, love all the pics. The daddy's guitar pic is over the top. Your headers are adorable too. You are one lucky Papa I'd say. Take care and blessings to you and your lovely family.

Hey Michael. I stopped by and checked out some of your airshow pics. I really enjoyed looking at them, especially the action shots. Hope everything is well with you and your lovely family. Stopping by and checking your site out is always such a treat. I never did call you because the info that you gave me in the email was superb on the lens. I am renting a 18-200 mm one for my Durango trip and it just so happens that after I rented it, we got emails from Durango saying that the 18-200 mm was your best bet on this trip for all the variety of photo's. After I experiement with this lens for a few days, I am thinking about renting a super telescopic lens to see if I can handle the weight and see how I do with it. It is awesome that this site let's you rent these lens to see if you will like them first. I have been working with my 50 mm to see if I can do some new things with it, and so far, so good. If you ever have any suggestions about taking inside photo's without much natural light, please send it my way. I always forget to turn my flash off and my pictures have weird colors. Ugh! I bought a new camera - just a Canon Rebel DSLR - i'm so glad you can tell my pictures have improved - still have lots to learn but it was fun catching the kids at the beach. My eyes pop out every time I see the gorgeous headers you have up!! Beautiful work.
I have barely taken a picture with the new camera Diego. I am hoping to use it this weekend with Kyleigh. Maybe got to the Arboretum and let her run like wild :) My socks were blown off looking at all the fantastic things Diego is capable of, I hope I can keep up :) I'll have fun trying at least.

By the way, I got my new camera a couple of weeks ago and I think I am in love :) It is a Nikon D 90. I got an extra 50 mm lens. I am going to start taking photgraphy lessons in a couple of weeks. I am really excited at the prospect of being able to take some half way decent pics!

Wow Michael...you really did post a picture for me. I think that is the first time someone has ever done that...Wow, wow, wow! What a cool shot. I also love that the picture was an accident. Like you said, sometimes these make the best shots. You won't believe this. I ran into a couple from Salem MO last Sunday at a confirmation at a small Catholic Church in Bunker. I have been on a few pro-life trips to DC with them in the past few years. Their names are Dr. Richard and June Cole. They were on the last cruise of the Mandalay. Didn't I understand you to say that you too were on that cruise? Wouldn't that be crazy if you were on the same ship at the same time? I will have to go read your comment again, but let me know one way or the other. Sorry it took me so long to get over here and see the picture. I have been super busy at the hospital and am doing a lega case on top of working full-time and haven't had much time to browse the sites like I want to. Hi Michael, I made it to the Balloon Fiesta but the weather wasn't cooperating, it was so windy that Balloon Glow was canceled the first night. We get to see the Mass ascension Sunday morning, it was overcast but still amazing!! When the sun peeked over the mountain and hit the balloons the colors we vibrate! It was a wonderful time. We are already talking about out trip next year :)

Ok I finally got around to putting up new pics. I had to get a new usb thingy and all that...what a pain. I know you're going to yell about red eye and the quality but I had 4 kids and no hands to get pics so you get what ya get. besides I know if you see something you like you'll snag it and fix it for me anyway :)

So how have you been with your most precious possession back! What a relief its fixed. I can understand how horrified you'd be. I don't have a high-techy one like a lot of you do but I still baby it and I don't trust people w/ it. I think I have an email of yours I haven't responded to yet.

I havn't heard from you. You must be working? Or are you out taking photos with your fixed camera/aka precious! I can't remember when the boys are coming back? I know its anytime. Guess what? I think next Tues we are going to go to Kings Island. Sponge Bob is there...I get to take the kids photos with him...and they have 13.00 all you can eat all day BBQ (Will will like that) AND for me....fireworks...yep...I get to practice what you have taught me! LOL.

Mike, I just saw you lunar comment and wanted to come back and thank you for your details - quite helpful. I did have it set to manual and was just kind of playing around, tried zooming in etc. I got out my manual today and there's a lot about my camera that i don't even know about. i used a flash, should i not have? Also, should i maybe have had it set to night-time? i'm just learning but i so strive to be better and i appreciate any tips from an expert like you or anyone w/ more photography knowledge. I told my family today that a real photographer likes my moon pictures or one in specific (I didn't tell them that - haha). They all like to give me a hard time at what I photograph - like I told you before - but they just don't see the beauty that i do. Thanks again Michael. Always looking for tips - so appreciated. Michael, Michael, Michael....Thank you so much for the wonderful Anniversary tribute. I love that photo. You are so thoughtful. I think the milestone gift is diamonds. But I got flowers, a dinner in NYC and then a concert at Lincoln Center. Plus come this September my dear hubby is giving me/us a 14 day cruise in Europe. So in my book that beats diamonds.

Your commentary on my San Diego pictures is fantastic!! It was as if I was there again and could hear the guide spitting out name after name of which I couldn't remember any except the word 'frigget' (sp?). He also decoded a message from one of them :) I thought the whole thing was fascinating. There were two subs there, but not on that tour. One was on the SEAL tour. Thanks so much for the comments, I had a ball reading them :)

Michael, so I take it Georgia doesn't get much snow?? I so LOVE your snow on trees!! I love snow pictures but we have had a TON this year and they are already predicting we will flood bad! I have never flooded even though I live on a street level apartment. Spring is such a mess. Thank YOU for your most kind comments about my photos. Makes me feel good. My family doesn't see the beauty in them, they think I'm a little dorky; which may be partial true!! Take care and keep up the great work.

Your trip to the Tennessee Aquarium looks like a great time! I think the jellyfish pics are very good! Of course aquariums are tough places to shoot because of the reflection off the glass...but I think yours turned out really great! And your snow pics of course are proof...it does snow in Georgia! :0) You have such a nice site!

Hi Michael, Thanks for the birthday wishes, my shutter pals made my day :) a little funshine for me. I had a wonderful day full of little surprises, like the flowers which I had to share with ya'll. Glad you like the pictures, I did the soft effect to hide some imprefections but I'm willing to bet you already knew that :) I will be on my daffodil assignment this week too :)
The heat here is oppressive but some people here just love it. It lasts forever. Next week it's supposed to be in the 80's, today the 70's. I'm not complaining about that though. It's the 110 degree stuff that I just can't handle. It would be great if we could have a little more winter and little less heat :) I'm asking for too much huh?

I love winter but I also live in a state where winter is a nano second compared to the heat of summer. I don't like hot weather, super hot, like you'll die if you're in it too long. I guess I can understand that the grayness of a really long winter can have the same effect that the heat does to me. I love the flower you talked about, that one little vibrant flag of hope just as you're ready to increase you meds :)

Thanks for stopping and looking at Alyssa's book! I'm so impressed with you. You caught the page creases and now the lighting on her book. To tell you the truth I'm really fighting with the lighting! I have a backdrop set up in a spare room and only have the over head light a window and my exteranl flash with a promax system over the flash - Barry suggested it to me) I really don't know what i'm doing when it comes to lighting. I so need a class! I will check out that site you suggested!
I'm working on a book for Mason now...SO CUTE! (I have horrible shadows but its still adorable!!!) leave me your email and i'll send it to you to take a sneak peak and look for errors again for me. hahaha)

Did you think another desk fell on me? (VERY MUCH A JOKE! haha) No, I've been down allllll wk with the flu....got it Sun night about 11 pm or so and just can't get rid of it...I feel better but still have it...And of course...my 2 yr old got it! poor thing....So, i've been trying to keep Alyssa and Daddy away from us. Although, funny....I was up here on the computer last night and heard all H*## break loose downstairs...My husband was yelling and Mason running from him....Mason took off his diaper after pooping (and my husband was sitting right there..watching tv of course). I about died.....That's all the excitement in my life this wk...Did take a couple pictures out the door of the snow--haha...Hey, check out my scrapbook page in progress...Took some b/w pictures of Alyssa for her book. Not done with it yet though. You know....I didn't notice...(bad of me) have you done a Air show book? Oh, our local camera place here hosts the Air show here...Maybe you could attend? I hear its really something!

(freak accident- Someone put a 350 + desk on its side and it fell on me messing up my gun arm. I have to believe it was for a reason!!
