How can I help my child have a successful school year?
First you should casually talk to your child about the upcoming school year so that you will know his or her concerns. Focus the conversation on the exciting things that will happen during the school year. Students should always have something to look forward to when entering the new school year. Encourage your student to always be positive. The key is to turn a negative situation or conversation into a positive situation. Make sure that your student has a structured environment for doing homework. After school programs are not always the best environment to do homework. Create an area that will be used to do homework and set a time to do homework everyday. Once your child becomes acustomed to their schedule you will be surprised at how they adjust.
