December 10, 2011 Market

The December market was a definite success, thank you to all our shoppers for coming out early!  The market is absolutely growing in the right direction; there were many more vendors and far more consumers than in November.  Santa was on hand to greet young and old for photos and even had some time to make purchases for his own table (I even saw him taking advantage of a few of the free taste samples)! The mood was festive thanks to the youth chorus and the holiday spirit displayed by vendors and shoppers alike!  The next winter market date will be January 14, 2012!  Happy New Year!  BUY FRESH ~ BUY LOCAL

Atkinson's First Winter Farmers Market

The early morning hour saw a slower start than the summer market series, but by 9:30AM the traffic had picked up and some of the farmers were already starting to sell out of a couple of favorite items.  Looking forward to the next date of December 10, 2011 8AM - 11AM, where we'll have even more farmers/vendors and items just in time for your holiday needs!

Winter Market Begins Saturday November 19th!

Save the date for the kick-off to our WINTER Farmers Market to be held at the

“Paradise Lot: Making an Edible Garden Oasis in the City” with Jonathan Bates
When Jonathan Bates and Eric Toensmeier moved into a duplex in a run-down part of Holyoke, Massachusetts, the tenth-of-an-acre lot was barren ground and bad soil, peppered with broken pieces of concrete, asphalt, and brick. The two friends got to work designing what would become a “permaculture paradise” replete with perennial broccoli, paw paws, bananas, and moringa — all told, more than two hundred low-maintenance edible plants in an innovative food forest on a small city lot.

Yankee Farmer’s Market, Warner, NH
To help pay for college, Brian Farmer made extra money flipping buffalo burgers for his cousin at fair concession stands. Needing extra help, he hired a very attractive college pal who happened to be a co-ed name Keira and a year later they were married. After graduating from college they followed their respective career paths, Brian in engineering and Keira, marketing. Forever etched in their taste buds, however, was the flavor of those buffalo burgers.
