Miss Shawn Hayden Foley!

Born Nov. 6th, 1:52pm, 8lbs 7oz & 20 in

Had my doctors appointment today, Miss Shawn is still holding steady...growing bigger, stronger & healthier! She seems to have decided she likes where she is :O)

The doc says I am about effaced and dilated the same as last visit...it could be anytime now or a few more weeks...it's just a wait and see game now. Once again he told me he would see me next Tuesday if not sooner.

37 weeks today!

Baby's now the size of a watermelon!

 

As of my doctor's appointment this past Thursday, October 15th...dilated @ 1 and cervix has gone from 4 cm to 1/2 cm left! She is extremely low now! She's not to big and not too small...just right, healthy and very active! Doc said it could be tonight, next week or a couple weeks. He... could be wrong but, if he was a betting man I won't see my due date. YIKES, it's happening fast!

I am very excited and anxious...it is all getting so real! Your pregnant for so long...I guess you don't really think it's going to happen. I think I was in shock at the doctor Thursday...must have looked like a deer in headlights...LOL.
It's just hard not knowing when or how...I feel like I am on pins and needles now 24/7. I would like her to wait a little longer but, I guess when she is ready it will happen and she will be healthy and OK. :O)

I can't believe October is here this week!  It is all happing so fast now...with the fall weather Shawn will be here so soon!  I can't wait to meet her and see what she looks like (especially those cute little feet that kick me so hard all the time)!  Does she have toes like Brian's that decend like the at&t bars or head honcho toes like mine with the second toe longer than the other?  Blue eyes like us, blonde hair like me or brown like Brian's? 

She has so many cute outfits to put on and stuff to use!  Even though I am so organized and getting everything done I think needs to be done...I still feel like there is so much to do!  Thank you for all your support and excitement during this special time in our life's.  What a special Christmas this year will be.  Brian and I are getting so excited to have a new family(and Wrigley a little sister)!  :O)

I visited the doctor this past Tuesday and everything is going really well.  My weight gain and tummy measurements are measuring perfect.  Yikes, Doc said I would be gaining about a pound a week for the rest of the pregnancy!  Shawn's heart-rate is great and my blood pressure is fantastic for the first time...could it be the change in jobs?! 

 

The doctor says everything looks perfect!  He even told me how she is positioned and all her moves make better since now.  My "Spot" as I call it that throughout the whole pregnancy has felt bruised just happens to be where her feet are...yep, you guessed it a little soccer player.  She is already practicing very hard!  I can watch her practice too since my stomach is rolling from one side to the other and bouncing around.

 

I also got my flu shot and in mid-October I will receive the H1N1 shot (Swine Flu). I am visiting the doctor every two weeks and after the next two visits I start my once a week appointments! 

 

Well, I must get back to my thank you cards and packing my bag (I like to be prepared)...plus my Mom also said it needed to be done now!  :OP  I guess no matter how old you are your Mom still thinks she is in charge (I mean she is in charge)!

 

I was just sitting here enjoying the Sunday morning and thinking of you all.  I know you must be as excited as I am to feel fall coming, Sunday football and 2010 coming around the corner...what a year 2009 as been.  Still many things to come in the last few months. :OP

Brian and I both like boy names for girls (Shannon)...I think this will make her an outgoing and tough little girl like her Mom :O).  We also wanted a female athlete name and finally agreed on Shawn as in Shawn Johnson the gymnast/Dancing with the Stars Winner.  We also like the name Hayden as in Hayden Panettiere the actress.  Both these girls are cute little blonde's that Brian says he can just imagine our little girl looking like. 

Shawn means "Gods is Gracious" (I love this meaning)

Hayden means "Hedged Valley"

 

We love the way these two names flow together and sound with Foley.

This little girl must be a soccer player like her Mom.  Not only can I feel her all the time but, now I can see my stomach move!  I go back Tuesday for another ultrasound and I am very excited to see her growth in a month and to get new pictures.  The room is done (but the name), registry done and the showers are scheduled (I'm so excited...love ya hostesses).  I am 6 months today and it is all starting to be very real and coming very fast!  Yes, Brian and I are still working on a name (no hurry from him...LOL).  As for me I want everything ready now!  Thank you for sharing with us this very exciting time in our lives!

He was worried about it...he said it never got to do anything...it was so tiny. I love that man even more!

Only 147 days to go!

Today we had a routine appointment with our doctor.  Brian and I heard the babies heartbeat again.  I seem to have "white-coat" high blood pressure that I am monitoring.  Hey, I'm an excitable person... what can I say.  Everything seems to be looking healthy and growing right on schedule. 

 

We go back in 4 weeks, June 25th to find out if it's a boy or girl!  Brian seems to think it is a boy (which I assume means it's a girl) and he continues to suggest and pair names of baseball's greatest players. 

 

Oh, by the way the doctor was impressed by the burn on my stomach from the iron...It is suggested I don't iron in my underwear anymore ;O).  I gave the kiddo a birthmark (hope it wasn't across the forehead!).  Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.  We enjoy sharing this special time with you and we know your all as excited as we are! :O)

 

On the morning of Saturday, March 7, 2009 I found out I was pregnant and waited all day to tell Brian.  While he slept I went and got my hair done and ran errands excited about the news I had to share with him.  We were getting ready for a wedding that evening when I told him.  We didn't tell anyone that night, so that we didn't take the attention away from our friends and their big day.  Because of our recent miscarriage we also chose to keep the news within our close circle of friends and family until our doctor said it was safe to share the wonderful news with the world.

 

Due November 8, 2009, now in my 2nd trimester we are 4 months along (16 weeks)!  We have a routine appointment on May 27th.  At 20 weeks on June 25th we find out if we are having a boy or girl.  I know Brian hopes for a boy first, but I am sure I can speak for us both when I say we just want a healthy baby! 

 

We are very excited about adding an addition to our family!  Even our spoiled Wrigley...I am sure will be a great big brother :O)
