Our son Ramza. He, Nabila and their friends really enjoy these tunnels. They are collapsible and easily stored. PICT0002.JPG 2008-09-13

My goal is to paint part of our living room with lively designs found in homes and mosques of Oualata, Mauritania and colors inspired by folk art of Mexico and Sweden. The shapes are based on various body parts. The Muslims believe humans to be the best of God's creation. So the people of this ancient city celebrate the majesty of His creation in their interior design. I am painting another part with designs inspired by the beautiful Xhosa people in South Africa. 01070006.JPG 2008-03-21

A wood cut portrait of my paternal great-great grandmother Annice Elliot Welch. She was born into slavery in Chowan, North Carolina. But the picture was made much later after emancipation. May God be pleased with her and all of the ancestors.
