NEXT EVENT
Welcome the Battle Creek Boychoir's site!
Here you'll find information about our organization, activities, and pictures of the singers. Please visit regularly to keep updated on events.
This is a reminder that I need you to let me know if you are participating in the Music Theory Classes on Saturdays (Feb. 9-Mar. 2). Please let us know ASAP so that we can determine the feasibility of hosting these classes. We need a minimum of 5 students. The student may miss one session, but will be responsible for all work and information covered during that session. Please let the director know ASAP!
There will be a meeting for the Parent Alliance this Monday from 6:00-6:30 p.m. All parents with singers participating in the Boychoir are part of the Parent Alliance. The PA will discuss fundraising as well as the upcoming tours (Toronto this year, Italy next). It is a great time to get to know some of the other parents involved as well. See you Monday!
Thank you for all your work at the concert yesterday. You all did great work! There were many positive comments about your music-making. I look forward to working with you for the upcoming Brass Band and the Doug Labrecque concert.
By way of reminder, please note that tonight is the Christmas Party at Schulers. You will need to be at Schuler's by 5:45 p.m.
You will need to be at the Kellogg Auditorium by 4:30 p.m on Thursday, Dec. 6. Also, please remember our concert with the Brass Band on Saturday, Dec. 8. Arrival time is 6:45 p.m.
As of this writing, the Boychoir members are on their way back from their rehearsal in Rockford. I was really proud of them - this was a long day! The boys had the opportunity to share pizza and rehearse their two songs with about 24 high school young men, including the members of our newly formed Young Mens' Ensemble. Director Joel Snyder sang the solo part of "Children Go Where I Send Thee", and sounded amazing! The high school boys also gave them some suggestions about stage presence, and how to be expressive and energetic while still well behaved! Ask your boys about the pieces the high school boys sang for each other. It was a lot of fun to see this large group of talented young men sharing their passion for music.
Tonight's rehearsal was a good start, but there is plenty of work to be done. I know that the boys will be working very hard over the next few weeks so that they can be confident and hold their own with the high schoolers. Thank you for allowing your sons to participate in the rehearsal, and I'll look forward to the next joint rehearsal on Monday, December 10!
