Our second "grand" baby arrived this year, Rylan Patrick.
Braden moved out.
We are now suddenly empty-nest people trying to figure out who we are (and who that other person is...). We just have to go to the beach more often. That is all there is to it.

2010

Last year Ben and Tiffany had Killian and I became a grandma. Yikes.
And no ... age is not a state of mind.
It is a real thing.
And it keeps flying past me & making my hair fly in my face and everything looks all distorted and weird.
Like why are there all those wrinkles on my face?
OH well.
But he is oh! so cute and fun .... So I am OK!

September 2009

We just had our 27th wedding anniversary. Braden turned 16, Bethany is almost 21 and Ben turned 24. Killian is 3 months old So life is flying! There you go ...nothing too inspirational today. I have to take Braden to get his driver's license on Wednesday. (Look out world!)

April 2009

So I haven't written anything here forever. Wow! I am going to update this site & get some photos on the album page. Hopefully gets more viewers! We have taken over our www.mexicoruss.com website and I am in the process of updating the content to reflect some of the cool things we are doing here in Penasco. I don't seem to have enough time in my days. Imagine that. So I will stop typing and get uploading! Check back and see what I get going this month (April).

October 2008

Ben and Tiffany just came to visit for the weekend. Very nice weekend as we went to see Roger Kline and the Peacemakers in concert here. And just kicked back on the beach. The weather was cooler and windy because of some hurricane to the south of us. But it was still 100% sunny every day and beautiful.

Unexpected Music and Sunsets

Well, I will soon be a real-live published writer...perhaps. I think they are going to print my story about my casa in the October issue of the Mexcio Living magazine. Actually, they asked Russ if I would be interested in writing on a regular basis. We will see if I can do that or not. Hmmm. For now below you will find my 2nd story entitled Unexpected Music and Sunsets. I have a 3rd story in my head.....So we shall see if I can pull this off. Kind of a little exciting.

July - August 2008

We visited Rosarito over on the Baja of Mexico in July. Bethany even got to join us on a road trip in the van. She said she was missing our Mexico road trips.

Soon we will be on our way to Monterrey in August.

Russ is now working with Mexico Living magazine to promote the Puerto Penasco area as a traveler's destination. This is going to be fun! I am going to submit a story that I wrote (I posted here too) and we will see if they like it enough to publish it!

Why "Bazar Naomi"

In town (here in Mexico) there are little stores named "Bazar Lupita", "Bazar Clarissa"...or Bazar whoever. It's just a little store, like a bazaar. But I think it is a great play on the word bizarre. So there.

* In the Colonial Mexican town of EL FUERTE is a beautiful and historical hotel named Hacienda del Hidalgo. The story is that a beautiful woman resided in this hacienda years ago. The entrance is a cobblestone drive that passes through ancient iron gates. Beyond the hacienda is a typical Mexican-style town square with the perfect little iron gazebo in the center. I fell in love with the town of El Fuerte and the square and the lore of the woman. Here is my poem.
