Panama Mission Trip Announced!!
Panama Mission Trip
February 2012
Please come to
First Presbyterian Church
16 Virginia Avenue
Manasquan, NJ
On
Sunday, October 2 at 6:30 PM
to hear about the details of our
Mission Trip to Panama!
We hope to give a lot of necessary information
for people who are prayerfully consider the opportunity.
We will explain what we know and what we do not know.
We will explore the interests, skills, and talents of the future team.
We will pray about the practical details and the financial picture.
Who should attend? People interested in going to Panama, people interested in praying for the mission, and people interested in helping to provide the necessary financing will find the meeting informative and entertaining.
The process is the mission. We will serve, and we will grow in our understanding of God’s Kingdom in this emerging country, our mission team, and our own hearts.
A slideshow will provide a unique picture of Panama, which is an amazingly diverse and beautiful country. The Panama Canal, a nineteenth and twenty-first wonder, cuts right through the Rainforest. Its economy is exploding, and yet many are being left behind by all the conditions that create an improvised environment. The presence of a strong Christian Community is immensely important for individual souls, families, communities, and even a global security. Our physical mission will be to help build up local churches with our encouragement and labor. In doing so in Jesus’ name and in the power of the Spirit, we also will open ourselves up to unanticipated personal growth.
Summer 2011
We have enjoyed the fellowship and Bible study again this summer on Ocean Grove's south end beach. The weather has been steady and lovely. Tonight, July 26, is the last evening. David has been teaching how God has used people's strength's and weaknesses to build his kingdom. He has been using examples from the Old and New Testaments to show examples of how we may begin to change our view of ourselves. Seeing ourselves through God's eyes is an entirely different perspective than the world's.
2010 schedule
We are meeting at 7:00 July 27th, but it is NOT the last session. David has added another Bible Study on the Beach as a makeup for our evening that was cancelled because of bad weather.
We will meet on August 3, 2010 at 6:30. Those of you who would like to go to Campmeeting at 7:30 will have time to make that session on the Boardwalk Pav.
Blessings!!

Thank you for those who have provided funds for the mission beds. We have enough for sixteen of the twenty two beds. God always provided though, and a California church has also sent funds. The mattresses will be bought after the building is enclosed and they are protected. So I am sure when needed, all necessary money will be available. We have sent the funds from July and will take the funds that have been collected since July when someone visits in September. A local church is sending an advance team down then to begin planning for a larger mission effort in the spring. Thank you!!
August 3, 2009
Praise Our Lord that we were able to enjoy all four weeks at the beach for this summer's Bible study. We appreciate the growing attendance as it is an impressive witness to see between 100 and 200 people sitting on the beach with Bibles, laughing, and enjoying His Word. May it be a blessing in our lives until next summer!
David will be preaching at the beach pavilion this week, starting at 7:30 tonight. He will continue to preach about the transforming love of Jesus each night. On Friday the worship and sermon will be at the TAB (next to the Great Auditorium on the park) at the same time.
David is also preaching at First Presbyterian Church in Manasquan for the next three Sunday's in August.
We want to express our thanks to God and His servants in providing the necessary beds for the Mission Station in Panama. Dan and Jessica and the children returned to their work last week, and we are missing them already. However, thanks to the generous gifts, they returned with 14 of the 22 beds provided. We will continue to explain the need and wait on the Lord's timing. The first groups will begin using the mission base in a few months when construction is completed. If you are interested in sending/going/seeing/learning about the vision that Our Lord has given to Dan, jess and their friends in Christ, visit the Cottonfamilypanama site listed below.
Tuesday, July 28,
Well, we are in the late July pattern of 30% chance of rain. We are planning on the Lord blessing us with a clear sky and gentle breeze. We also plan to visit Day's Ice Cream porch for our yearly treat and time to visit after the Bible Study.
Thank you for all who continue to pray for the mission base that Dan and Jessica are serving in Panama. It will be a base for visiting mission groups. The base will provide the appropriate continued contact with the home churches in remote locations who need support, procure safe transportation and supplies, and shelter for transitions and city volunteers. It is in a small village on the canal about 40 minutes from the airport.
The base will provide 22 beds and there is a need to provide a mattress, pillow, set and a half sheets, light coverlet, and mattress and pillow covers. We can do this for $200. and also provide some extra towels. We have eleven beds donated! We believe that God will provide the funds that are needed. The beds will have scripture painted on the headboards, chosen by the donators. We just know that the shelter and scripture will be used to encourage and refresh volunteers. We will also add the names of donors to a welcoming wall that the volunteers will use to encourage one another and praise Our Savior.
Thank you for participating in this ministry with your prayers and gifts.
Checks should be made out to Crossroads Gospel Association
and will be hand-carried to Panama tomorrow by Dan.
They will be cashed in Panama and tax statements will be sent before the end of the year.
The mail service is very limited and couriers must be used.
Thank you also for your prayers of blessings and protection as they return to the mission field with their three young children.
David will also be part of the Ocean Grove Campmeeting Week. Each weeknight (7) from August 3 to 8th, he will give the message in the boardwalk pavilion. There will be praise, music and David will bring the Gospel's Good News. The series will be about the power of love-transformation through Jesus.
Tuesday, July 22 @ 6:00pm
David came back from the beach and says it's not bad. He's ready to go and the Bible Study is on for tonight. He said you may want a light jacket. See you there!
5:45
David is going to the beach to see what the conditions look like. The clouds are low and dark, but the radar doesn't show any storms. It is a hard one to call. No lightening is showing up on the weather.com, but the clouds are low and dark.
Tuesday at 3
The local weather forecast is for clearing but cloudy skies, 70 degrees with an eight mile an hour breeze... .but no more rain. At this point it looks likely we will have Bible Study at 7.
Bed count
We have two beds dedicated by friends! We hope that more can be delivered by person on July 29th. There is very limited mail service. Please enjoy the pictures below of the waiting bunkbeds.
July 21, 2009
The weather is drippy, but David always believes. So although it is raining and the forecast isn't great, David says if it isn't raining or threatening with lightening at 6:45, he will be ready to go. Dear Friends have given us a portable PA system, so that will make it easier for everyone to hear.
