Happy March! A lion or a lamb? That is the question. One day, we’re in the 40s, the next back in the 20s. Either way, there are only a couple more weeks before spring officially begins and all of us here at BUMP are excited to get back outside and see life renewed.
As we prepare for spring this month, there is so much to learn, both indoors and as we make our way back outdoors. We will explore units on construction, museums, the spring season with a focus on weather and space. During Praise Time, our focus will be on Lent, 40 days (not including Sundays) leading up to Easter. Both classes will begin preparing for the art show and welcoming our class pet, both in April.
The holiday season is upon us, making December such a special time here at BUMP, a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, talk about the spirit of giving, and enjoy many other theme-related activities to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year!
Our room is being transformed into a cheery Christmas atmosphere. The dramatic play center is decorated, and can be redecorated, for a family Christmas. The pre-K class will focus on letters Oo and Mm and learn about “The Legend of the Candy Cane” and the special meaning it holds. The preschool class will learn more about the star shape the color green and learn about The Pine Tree Parable.
November kicks off the holiday season with Thanksgiving, which offers a time of reflection for all that we are thankful. We’d like to give all of our BUMP families a big THANK YOU for all you do for our school from chaperoning/driving for fieldtrips to cleaning toys to helping out in our classroom (and so much more). We’re truly blessed with all of the support we’ve had thus far. We’re also so thankful for our students who bring joy to our classroom and make our job rewarding.
During November, the pre-k class will learn about nutrition, Native Americans and Pilgrims, and the letters Gg, Rr, Tt, and Ii. The preschool class will learn about circles, triangles and the first Thanksgiving. Both classes will spend time learning about groceries, restaurants, and Thanksgiving. During Praise Time, our topics will include the Real Thanksgiving, prayer and practice for our Christmas Program. We’ll celebrate Thanksgiving with a class luncheon.
With the state of education changing, we find the need to grow with times. While and other areas schools are exempt from the switch to all day kindergarten this year, we know it will be all too soon before we see our little ones attending all day. To better prepare our students for this change, we are now offering a four-day, pre-k class (ages 4 and 5 years old). This class will be held Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs from or and tuition will be $138.00/month. We have discontinued our three-day pre-k class. However, the preschool class (ages 3 and 4 years old) will remain a two-day class meeting on Tues/Thurs mornings from -1145 a.m. The tuition for the preschool class will be $115.00/month. Please give us a call (740.368.1441), or email bellpointumpreschool@yahoo.com, today to schedule your tour or check us out on the web at http://bellpointpreschool.shutterfly.com . We look forward to talking with you soon!
Happy Summer!
The school year has come to a close for us at BUMP. We had a great last week filled with imagination. Our theme, Imagination Station, allowed us to explore traditional fairy tales and nursery rhymes. The children entered the Magical Land of BUMP, at the dramatic play center, where there was a castle built for a king/queen or a prince/princess. We also learned more about the and Christ’s love for us.
In celebration of all that we have accomplished this year at BUMP, we held a BUMP Family Picnic. BUMP families were invited to join us for a potluck dinner, a mini performance by the preschool/pre-k students, and fellowship with one another. On the last day of school, for each class, we enjoyed visiting with our friends before summer break over a special celebration snack of chocolate covered pretzels. Please keep the BUMP families in your prayers as they enjoy their summer.
All BUMP classes are operating on a regular schedule.
