Valley Chapel and Benton's Ferry United Methodist Churches invite all children to go to the edge this summer for Vacation Bible School. Camp E.D.G.E: Experiance + Discover God Everywhere is an extreme adventure camp taking kids on exciting Bible treks to experiance and discover God everywhere, every day.

Each Bible trek is supported with activities, crafts, songs, stories and snacks.

1. July 20th and August 23: We are taking up collections of dry rigatoni past and and sauce for a fundraiser dinner. She is in need of a kidney and this will be her fund raiser. The actual dinner will be at EFHS on August 23. The items are needed by July 20th.
 
2. July 26-30: VBS- our role will be the kitchen again this year. Also Ken and Janet are doing story time and need helpers a couple of nights.
 
3. August 7th: Sing at 7PM at Benton's Ferry

What is the Secret Prayer Pal?

It is a ministry of regularly praying, caring and encouraging other brothers and sisters in Christ, secretly. It's wonderful to have someone praying for you daily and is there to send you an encouraging note or thoughtful gift from time to time.

How do I become a Secret Prayer Pal?

Each December our Secret Prayer Pal form is filled out and placed in a basket. Everyone draws from the basket for their Secret Prayer Pal in early January. Whom ever you draw, will be the person you pray for and encourage throughout the year. Yes, these Secret Prayer Pals will remain a secret until the Sunday before Christmas! At the year's end, we reveal our Secret Prayer Pals. A special gift is brought to Church for our Secret Prayer Pal signed with your real name for the reveal.

THIS MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.  We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.  We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.  We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.  We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.  We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.  We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.  We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.  Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'

 Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'
