I see last entry was March 2009 - well I Finally was hired with the Census for training in April 2010, so now I am busy working.  Had to 'get thru' yesterday, May 13th (six years ago my "Baby Girl" Hollie was taken away from us) and didn't make it to get out and work, but I "have" to get out there today.  Some days are rougher than others.  Take it "one day at a time," like they say, I guess.  A good friend of ours, Nicole Evans, put Hollie's photo on her 'facebook' site--one of my favorite photos of her.  Warms my heart to see folks keeping her 'front and center' in so many ways. 

Now Berry & I are equal with regard to our Census scores; 95 %!  However, I truly have a 95%, while he has a 90% plus the 5 points they give him because of his prior military service!  Still, I have more experience with them, having worked for the 1980, 1990, And 2000 Census; he did work for them, too, but only for the 2000 Census!  On the other hand he has another advantage, he is younger!  SO, it is a toss-up, but I have No job, at the moment, and he has one!  Both of us want to work for them.  But I think I want it more than him!  Also, he is a better cook than me, and lots of other stuff, so he will be Too busy if they hire him and Not me.  Ideal would be that we Both get hired!  In any case, it is a temp. job, but pay is good while we have it!

Learned today that my test score from last Monday's Census 2010 test was 90%.  Meanwhile, I re-took it this morning, so hopefully I have improved that score.  My husband sat right next to me last week and his score was 95 % & he still has 5 points coming to him due to his military service.  There is a lot of competition right now, not just with ex-military, but due to the numbers of people who have been laid off their jobs.  The best thing I have going for me is that I worked for the 1980, 1990, and 2000 Census, but none of that is taken into consideration; only zip codes and then test scores!  Period.

I agree with Marja... your home is beautiful in the snow! I do love the snow... if I'm inside & toasty warm by the fire, preferably with some hot tea or something! I don't like the cold. However, I don't really like it really hot either. Fall is my favorite season. :-)
