Near the end of 2003 I met some bicycle tourists who were passing my house in Parit Buntar, Malaysia on Road number 1 (Ipoh to Butterworth). They had great stories about what they experienced on their bike tour. I became enthusiastic and bought a bicycle myself and started bicycle touring in southeast Asia. Now, I have my own experienced cycling in South Thailand, North Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myamar, South India, Jawa, Indonesia and China.
Bicycle Touring Home Stay in Malaysia, Southeast Asia
A home stay in Parit Buntar, Kerian, Perak I bet you have never heard of Parit Buntar. I have lived and worked for many years in Parit Buntar. The town is about 45 kilometers south of Penang, the famous island in northwest Malaysia. Parit Buntar is a small pleasant, non touristic and relaxed town.
David's Home Stay is not a commercial guesthouse. Safety, Hospitality and Not Profit. When you stay here you will experience the life of a local Indian family in an ordinary small town in North West of Malaysia.. You will also get first hand information about your cycling trip in Asean countries.
You may even meet other international cyclists while you are here. Since 2003 until 2008 I have hosted 130 cyclists and 20 backpackers all over the World.
We have 2 extra rooms available with shared bathroom, a place to camp, and homemade Indian food. My friend Peter (from Holland) says the food my wife makes is better then anywhere he has tasted, even better then India itself. I can't say that since I have never been to India but my wife makes great food. You will also enjoy all local foods at the night market or food stalls in town.
