BLISSFIELD YULETIDE 2009: A SEASON OF BLISS
Although it's not snowing yet, Blissfield Chamber is already working on the 2009 yuletide celebration. Part of this years theme incorporates banners hanging along Blissfield's streets with a pine tree theme.
In helping with the celebration, elementary students will also be creating artwork to decorate store front windows and beautify down town Blissfield.
*Be on the look out for student created artwork to start making an appearance in early November!
MISSION POSSIBLE
Jerry Hayes and Lori Sallows aren’t homeless but will pretend to be starting Nov. 20-21.
Hayes and Sallows, who are WLEN radio employees, will spend their time in boxes at Evergreen Storage & Leasing on North Main Street in Adrian until they raise $10,000 for the Lenawee County Mission. The fundraiser is called “Mission Possible,” and money raised will go toward an additional building for the faith-based, male-only homeless shelter and addiction recovery facility.
For the second year in a row, Blissfield Elementary Students & Ms. LaJiness will participate in Mission Possible by preparing and covering over 30 refrigerator boxes with artwork for WLEN employees to camp out in until their goal is reached. Blissfield Elementary is the only school in Lenawee County to participate. Not only is this an amazing opportunity for our students, but also a way for our entire school to help those less fortunate.
Please check back for updates and photos of this work in progress! Boxes will be delivered and students will begin creating the second week of October!
