Welcome

Welcome to our family website.  We are extremely busy and have not been very good with keeping in touch lately.  I will try to keep this up to date as much as I can.  Please check back often for up to date information on the Ben Weisensel Family!

A Day in the City

Last weekend we spent the day in Chicago with the Gorski clan.  Despite the frigid temperatures we all had a great time!  We drove down and parked at Soldier Field/Museum Campus and then started our day at the Field Museum.  After that we took a trolley named Danny to Grant Park where Phil made us get off and walk the rest of the way to Millennium Park.  Ben thought the bean (not sure if that is what it is actually called) was interesting.  He has never been to Grant Park or Millennium Park.  We did not see much besides the bean so we are planning on going back in the spring when the parks are much better looking and so he can see Buckingham Fountain in full action.

After playing at Millennium Park for awhile we walked over to the Sears Tower, another Chicago attraction which Ben does not remember ever seeing.  By the time we got to the skydeck it was dark outside so we did not see much beyond the Chicago skyline but that is still a great view!

After taking the red line back to Museum Campus we headed over to Superdawg to have the one of a kind Chicago style hotdog!  Phil and I were the only ones to stay awake for the trip back to Roscoe which was uneventful.  Once we dropped the Gorski family off we headed back to Madison.  Dan and I fell asleep but Ben said it was an absolutely horrible drive from Janesville to Madison.  The roads were very slippery as it had rained and then the temp dropped.  He did wake me up to see a car that was in the middle of 90 sitting on its driver side doors.  We obviously made it home safely as I am writing this entry.

You can see pictures from our city adventure below!

Ben Update...

Ben is feeling much better today.  He was able to eat some real food today which he was happy about.  We will have to wait a few weeks to see if the procedure worked so we will keep everyone updated with his progress.

One more bit of info I forgot to mention yesterday...

Danny was moved into the advanced reading group at school.  He was not very excited as it means he has much more homework but Ben and I were very proud of him.  He is following in his cousin Joe's footsteps as he loves to read.

That's all for now.

Update...

Hello All
I know it has been a long time since I have updated our site but here is the latest Weisensel happenings...

The very latest is that Danny has lost one of front teeth.  It has been loose for a few weeks and we were finally able to talk him into letting us take it out.  His big tooth has already worked its way through his gums.  The second front tooth is loose and should be gone by Valentines Day.  Unfortunately it is looking like Dan the Man will be needing braces.  Guess we should start saving now!

Ben was at the hospital yesterday to get scoped and we were hoping that we would finally get some answers.  He does not have a hernia which was good news as that would have required surgery.  The doctor did have to dilate his esophagus which he thinks should stop the horrible chest pains.  We were excited as we thought finally something was going to be fixed.  Unfortunately Ben had another attack last night.  His doctor thinks that it may be the esophagus reacting to the procedure and that all should be well in a few days.  Ben is not feeling very well still today as he does not react well to medicine used to knock you out.  His stomach is upset but he is slowly getting better.  I will keep everyone updated as we get more information.

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years this year and hope all of you did as well.  I will try to post some pictures later this week as well as a little more news.

I am off to do homework with Danny and nurse Ben back to health.  Have a great week!

Fall Weekends

We had a great weekend enjoying the last of the outside weather.  We spend all of Saturday at Treinen Farms.  The have a huge pumpkin patch that we rode out to on a horse drawn wagon and then we went into the biggest corn maze in Wisconsin.  I think is was 15 acres.  The maze was the shape of a dragonfly with some flowers.  We were in corn maze for almost 2 hours.  When you go in they only give 1/8 of the map.  Along the way you have to find seven mailboxes.  Inside each one is the next part of the map.  Everyone took turns leading the way.  Danny did surprisingly well.

Other exciting things from this weekend.  We found a Wii Fit and it only took like 4 months of searching.  It is really fun but I am pretty sore today.  You are actually getting a workout on this thing.

Nothing else very exciting from this weekend except that the Packers won!

GO PACK!!

BMD Happenings...

First of all thanks for visiting!  Please remember this a work in progress.  I will continue to add new things to our site.

Here is a quick update for those of you who we have not seen recently...
Danny has lost two teeth and has a third tooth loose.  We have our very own little jack-o-lantern and without any of the mess.  He is really enjoying 1st grade and continues to amaze Ben and I every time he reads an entire book by himself.  He has homework everyday and he seems to really enjoy the reading and math.

Danny also just started cub scouts a few weeks ago.  He was very excited and looked really cute in his uniform.  (No pictures yet but I will have some after the pack meeting in a few weeks)  Danny is a Tiger cub and is required to have an adult partner at all events.  Ben was more than happy to volunteer.  I don't know which one was more excited when they went off to the first meeting.  They are so cute together!

Not much else exciting is going on in Sun Prairie.  We are looking forward to Halloween but would of course love a few more weeks of summer.
