BIOGRAPHY:
Bobbie received her MFA in Theater with a concentration in Scenic Design and secondary emphasis in Lighting Design from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her work at McLeod Theater includes: Biloxi Blues, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Death and the King's Horseman, Little Women, and Assistant Set Designer for Carlos Ruiz on The Secret Garden. Bobbie has also served as a Scenic Artist for numerous productions - credits include: A Raisin in the Sun, Talking With, One Fine Day, The Secret Garden, A Christmas Story, Little Women, Almost Maine, Always Patsy Cline, The Producers, Urinetown: The Musical, Biloxi Blues, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Death and the King's Horseman. Bobbie now lives and works in Chicago. Her passion for design and artistic vision has gained her many awards and honors - Mordecai Gorelik Award for Excellence in Scene Design, Archie Award for Best Scene Design, and most recently having two of her designs chosen for the 2011 Prague Quadrennial Exhibition. She also received many glowing reviews in the St. Louis, MO newspapers for her set design of Wole Soyinka's Death and the King's Horseman directed by Segun Ojewuyi at the St. Louis Black Rep. and the McLeod Theater. Bobbie also has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.

PQ 2011 Student Exhibition
Death and the King's Horseman and Biloxi Blues have been selected to be included in the Prague Quadrennial Student Exhibition. Preview exhibit will be at USITT this year in Kansas City, MO. Then on to Prague June 16th -26th 2011!

This is a study abroad project helmed by SIUC Professor Segun Ojewuyi that will take place in summer 2010. I am currently the Set Designer for its theatrical performances of 'Seven', by R.N. Hastings and 'Preemptive' by Niyi Coker JR. These will tour through Nigeria, Barbados, and the United Kingdom.
