Bryans Road Soccer Assn. - brsa

Thanks to everyone who attended our spook-tacular end of season party held at Gilbert Run Park on October 30, 2011.  It was indeed a great success and nice ending to the season.   Thanks to those kiddies who dressed up in their halloween outfits, our parents, coaches whom helped during the past season, workers who helped with the picnic set-up and clean-up, the face painters, and to Shelley Norris and other officers, etc from the association who made this a wonderful season.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the week long Sensible Soccer camp that ran the week of July 25th to 29th at the Pomonkey Soccer Complex.   Approximately 32 kids from ages 6 to 18 participated in the camp representing both Bryans Road Soccer Association as well as LaPlata Soccer Assoc.  Thanks to Nicky & Jordan for the wonderful effort they put forth to make soccer camp enjoyable for all - giving us all a bit of UK flavor. Its been great working with you (and your coaching partners) over the past 10 some years and hope to make it bigger and better next year...

Thanks for class camp Jerry & Cam. Each year it gets better! We are blessed to work with such great people who love soccer! Michelle will have been looking down on camp with a big smile. Actually, no, she would have been playing with us, we just could not see her. Her energy was at camp!! The Michelle Ballengee camp will grown stonger!

The 2nd Annual Michelle's Cup was held March 19, 2011 at the Pomonkey Soccer fields.  The event is in memory of Michelle Ballengee who was a former player and coach in their organization who died from injuries suffered in a three-car accident after being hit in the rear by a car traveling 125 mph on April 29, 2009.

Young athletes of all ages from the Bryans Road Soccer Association participated in an in-house soccer tournament to honor her as a former player, coach and referee. The tournament games kicked off around 10am with kids divided into various age groups.   After the games there were presentations, awards, and prizes.  During the event there was a cookout, bake sale and raffles.

Portion of  the proceeds from the event will go to the Spring Dell Center, a non-profit organization where Michelle worked assisting an handicapped individual; and, to a soccer camp for BRSA to be held at the end of the current Spring season.

Michelle was active in our organization and had come back as an adult to help coach and  mentor our kids," so we're trying to keep that spirit of life going."

It was an excellent way to Start off the Spring with a celebration of life for our youth.  For Michelle "Soccer is Life".

IMPORTANT DATES -  Season Starts - March 26th;  End of Season Tournament for U14/U18 - June 4th and 5th.
