Habitat for Humanity in Nassau County kicked off their next project in New Cassel with a “Wall Raising” on August 6th at 12:00 pm. This Habitat home is made possible by the generous land donation from the Unified New Cassel Community Revitalization Corp. and major donations made by Travelers Insurance, State Farm Insurance, New York Community Bank Foundation, Roslyn Savings Bank (a division of New York Community Bank), Long Island Board of Realtors, Strobe Promotions, Inc., Grace Episcopal Church and the many donations from corporations, religious organizations and individuals supporting our mission. Our partner family Wyneka Robinson and her four children are anxious to begin their “sweat equity” by helping to build their new home alongside the hundreds of Habitat volunteers. This will be the affiliate’s thirteenth Habitat home and LEEDS certified. Director of Operations, Tom Baccarella: “By utilizing energy efficient building methods, we will conserve precious resources and generate future cost savings for the homeowner”. Join us as we make the American Dream of owning a home a reality for another Nassau County family!!
