Welcome

It was an early spring evening in Budapest; we had escaped from Vienna not 5 hours earlier and we now found ourselves standing on Gellert Hill looking down on the lights of the city. Without thought or consideration I muttered “we’re coming back”. What was most amazing was that despite the fact that we hadn’t been in Budapest for a full hour yet, and we had seen only what lies between the Keleti Railroad Station and Gellert Hill; my observations was both unconsidered and in retrospect … obvious.

Welcome to our home. After many years of being a tourist to the most beautiful city imaginable we took the plunge and purchased our home-away-from-home. As first and foremost the purchase was for our enjoyment and our convenience we let that concept drive all of our decisions. As a result our little home is not typical of holiday apartments on the market. This is our home not a business unit and as such personal style, comfort and convenience outweighed any rental business decision.

We purchased our home in that part of Budapest that we loved most. The part of Budapest we felt most comfortable in as visitors and tourists; and the part of Budapest most convenient to the best of the city’s arts, culture and food. Next we outfitted our home with excellent furnishings, state of the art kitchen appliances, flat screen TV and play console, WIFI and even air-conditioning and a washer / dryer.

We have been very fortunate with the management company. The owners of the company know that The Pond is our labor of love and they do an excellent job of projecting that attitude on to our guests with great consideration and class. This is our escape and we hope it becomes your escape as well.

Located in a renovated late 19th century apartment block situated in a UNESCO World Heritage recognized site between Andrassy ut and Budapest's historic Jewish Ghetto District.

Complete Interior renovation and modernization completed in 2010, Building Renovated in 2007.

Consists of approximately 48 sm (525 sf). 32 sm on the ground floor with a bedroom mezzanine of approximately 16 sm.
