Welcome

Take a journey of growth, healing and self-discovery through the 12 Steps as interpreted through Buddhism.

The Buddhist Step study is open to all people who suffer from any addiction or compulsive behavior and are looking for a comprehensive, transformative path to end their suffering.  Specifically, people dealing with alcoholism, drug addiction, sex addiction, over eating, gambling, and other compulsive or harmful behaviors.

The 4 Noble Truths and The 12 Steps both outline a path to Enlightenment and to the end of suffering.  This step study will attempt to bring these traditions in line with one another, highlighting essential spiritual truths so as to reduce the suffering of its participants, resulting in a spiritual awakening.

Please be aware the San Diego half marathon is tomorrow morning beginning at the Gaslamp Arch and ending at Petco Park which puts us right in the middle of the fray. You can check out route at:  http://www.sdhalfmarathon.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/sdhm-2013-print_map-rev2b.pdf. Also, don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour.

I'll be at the round up "spiritual Breakfast"

I'll miss you sanga! I'll be at the round up this Sunday.... But looking forward to working my 4th Step I need some "house cleaning"... love and hugs

Step Three Rewrite - love this group and will miss you this am, but will be home meditating and caring for sick tummy...

I take refuge in the path of the Buddha to seek mindfulness, truth, lovingkindness, compassion, humility, and relief from suffering for myself and all beings.

The Buddha said that if you tried to figure karma out intellectually, your head would explode

I love this quote...  I heard it before and when I googled it I found this interesting article on karma:

I'm really getting so much out of this group and have started back to a daily meditation practice again after a "meditation relapse"  thanks to all your support!  what a gift...

namaste, my friends!

Perfect timing

This step study came at the perfect time. After finishing my steps i loved what I have learned and who I was becoming. And noticed there were still some areas I wanted clarity and freedom. I see that I will get this from the Buddhist step study. I'm very excited for the journey.
