The vision for Heaven on Earth was given to both Joshua and Sylvia at separate times, in separate circumstances. God introduced them via the internet in 2009 and when they met in Homa Bay in November 2009, it was like they had been given a partnership by God.
About Joshua...
Joshua is a husband to Pamela, and a father to 6 children. He lives in Homa Bay, which is
90 minutes’ travel from Buche village. In January 2003, he came close to death and was given a vision. He describes it as follows:
"In the vision I was on top of a high hill and there before me was a woman who was crying. She had a child in her arms and holding the hand of another child. The woman and the children were in a horrible condition. I felt compassion for the woman and a voice said to me.. "The woman is a poor widow with orphans, go and serve them"Immediately this was over the people standing next to my bed saw life in me again and my life was restored. I was instantly healed from that day to this. God appeared to me again and gave me a vision of a children's home which will house and support widows, aged
and orphans."
About ‘Heaven on Earth’...
We have bought 1 2/3 Acres of land and are currently fencing the land. We have established a church here after visiting and seeing over 150 people pray for salvation. Many have never heard the gospel or God's plan of salvation. There are hundreds of widows, aged and orphans in this area of Nyanza. We will be working towards taking 100 total orphans to be cared for in this community by the many aged people and widows. Here we can grow our vegetables and trees to sustain the people along with many small animals for milk, meat and eggs.
About Sylvia...
Sylvia is a lady who has given up her possessions and her life for the Gospel and says of herself: "I am honoured to be called a Christian. My life is dedicated to the Great Commission. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptised will be saved." Sylvia is now living in Kenya and establishing Heaven on Earth Community.
She believes that "the gospel must have two hands, and so we introduce people to Jesus and then we give them the tools to help them to live the way Jesus wants them to."
What you can do to help...
The biggest need is that of prayer. Faith-filled prayer is capable of moving mountains (Mark 11:23).
Prayer needs are, of course, always changing. The ones which are constant are:
For safety for those involved
For salvations
For health
For supplies to establish the community
For those who would like to support the vision financially, either as a one-off or as an on-going commitment, we have established a dedicated bank account:
