Things are going well in the Burt household! Tanner seemed to be getting better with his screaming fits and then we had a freezer incident in which all of my frozen breast milk thawed. This breast milk contained the medication that I’d been taking for my thyroid which in turn restarted Tanner’s screaming fits again. So I have chalked up this lovely night time routine to the medication that I was taking. Let’s hope when it’s out of his system things will go back to the way they were-a little fussiness but not severe screaming!
Keileen is getting over her cold, finally and has returned to sleeping a little better again. She usually calls out for me one time in the night but isn’t getting up and coming into our room.. I’ll take that for now and hopefully by the time I go back to work in 5 weeks all will be back to normal. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
We are gearing up for Christmas as I try to get all the shopping done before I go back to work on the 14th. No need to add anymore stressors when I’m working 5 days a week. Should be lots of fun over the next few weeks shopping and getting things wrapped.
I think that is it for now! Take care all!
-Tanner’s colic is getting better. 6 weeks seemed to be the turning point! YEAH! He’s started smiling and cooing a lot. So cute to hear those little baby coo’s. He loves lying on his changing table and looking at himself in the mirror that is above him. That is where he does most of his talking. I guess just like any other boy, loves himself! He’s growing well and is over 11 lbs now. Really starting to fill out and starting look like me, his mommy! Lucky boy!!!!
-We had a great Halloween. The family came over here for an early sandwich buffet and then we headed out for trick-o-treating. Keileen loved it and kept saying, “Let’s go to another one (house)!” She then came back and helped GiGi hand out candy at our house. And with the weather being so nice they sat on the porch and Keileen would yell, “Come on kids, I got candy for you!” I’m sure GiGi put her up to it but it was surely cute! I forgot to get a picture of Keileen and Tanner together since when we were taking pictures, Tanner needed to eat. Oh well right!
-Keileen had her yearly check-up at the orthopedic and is doing great! He said there are no issues with her hip and we won’t have to go back till school age. He also took some time to check Tanner just to make sure he didn’t have the same issue. He didn’t.
-Keileen has also had the cold. Runny nose or boogers as she says. She has not been sleeping very well at all. Actually I think she is up more than Tanner nowadays. I thought possibly she had an ear infection so we went to one of those minute clinics and she doesn’t have an ear infection. I guess she has just developed some bad sleeping habits since Tanner’s been home. I need to gain enough energy to put a stop to it one of these nights!
-Well I think that is all. Hope everyone is having a wonderful fall and enjoy the beautiful weather that is supposed to be here this weekend! We might head to the lake to enjoy MeMa and PaPa’s new pontoon boat but we haven’t decided yet. I’m just looking forward to the nice weather more than anything! Take care!
Well I’m 5 weeks old today and lots of things have been going on in my life. I have been having some reflux issues and on medication for that. It hasn’t worked it’s 2 day magic like it did with Keileen but Mom seems to think it’s helping a little bit. I also am very gassy which causes me to be colicky in the evenings. Mom gives me gas drops for those 3 hour episodes! And then to top it all off I have thrush in my mouth so I’ve been started on meds for that. Mom says we have our own little pharmacy wrapped up in me! I’m growing though so hopefully all this gassy stuff will pass and we’ll be on the right track. It just makes the evenings hard for Mommy since she and Daddy are trying to get the house cleaned up, Keileen bathed and in bed and of course everything ready for the next day. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that this will pass and I’ll have a chance to be a happy baby!
We are getting ready for Halloween and got our pumpkins carved over the weekend and Uncle and Aunt Emily’s. It’s been an annual event for our family to get together with the Stephen’s and carve away. It was lots of fun and will be even more fun next year when I can actually participate in the carving. On actual Halloween, we are going to have the kids over to our house and eat dinner and then head out around the neighborhood to Trick-O-Treat for candy. Mom says I can’t eat any but Keileen can and she loves candy!
Daddy has wrapped up his fishing season in good fashion! He placed 3rd in the end of the year Jacamo Bass Club and won us some money. We are all very proud of him and in a few years I’ll get to go fishing with him and I can’t wait. Daddy can’t wait either!
That’s it from the Burt household! Hope all is well with everyone else and Mom will update again in a few weeks! Take care!
We’ve been keeping busy at the Burt household. Tanner is growing fast, becoming more alert and I’m an awesome Big Sister! Mom says that Tanner is trying to talk to me when he coo’s. She also says he looks for me when he hears me playing near him. I’m still not big on holding him but I like him to sit next to me and I can give him kisses. My favorite thing to do is give him “squishy face.” Not so sure how much he likes it but I like it and Mom says it’s okay as long as I don’t do it too hard (Mommy always makes sure that I am gentle with him!)
We got to go and see Grandma Letha who is doing well. She has her good days and bad days and says she is getting some of her strength back. They’ve started giving her physical therapy and she isn’t in as much pain. She sounds pretty good on the phone but is starting to get bored. Go figure, GMA Letha bored. I drew her a picture yesterday that Mommy is going to send with some picture of us kids and a few other goodies. Hopefully that will keep her spirits up!
This weekend we are heading the lake to see MeMa and PaPa. It will be Tanner’s first trip and I can’t wait to show him all the fun things we can do there. Uncle Brian and Ethan are coming too so it should be a great time! MeMa and PaPa will have all 3 grandkids in 1 house! Mommy is looking forward to relaxing and have a few more hands around to help with us kids! I can’t wait. Mom will take lots of pictures this weekend so she’ll have more to post next week!
Well we better get going! Hope all is well with everyone and talk to you soon!
Well it’s been a fun filled week with Tanner being home! Keileen has been a great big sister and I’m sure will only continue to interact more and more with him as he gets older. Tanner wants to eat all the time and I’m wondering if I’m ever going to be able to keep up! The difference between a boy and a girl I guess.
Keileen has been very interested in everything that goes on with having a newborn including the whole breast feeding part and the pumping part. She thought that was really different and had to do it herself. FUNNY! Classic picture that I’m sure we will show to her boyfriends in the future. Daddy and Keileen have become pretty tight recently and she doesn’t really like him to go to work. And of course if she hurts anything she always wants her Daddy. Pretty cute if you ask me! I love watching them together and know as Tanner gets bigger it will only be more fun to watch Tim with both of the kids!
MeMa Burt came and stayed Saturday-Wednesday with us which was a HUGE help! She caught us up on laundry as well as kept Keileen occupied during the day so I could rest. Not to mention snuggling with Tanner when Keileen needed Mommy time. What would we do without MeMa Burt? Wish PapPa Burt could have been here to but he was working. We are planning a trip to the lake in a few weeks so we’ll get to see them both then.
On a sadder note, Grandma Letha is not doing very well. She had a massive heart attack last week and as a result now has a hole between her ventricles. She is not a candidate for surgery because of all of her previous surgeries so she has to be in a medical care facility to see how her body recovers. The doctors do not think she will survive this injury to her heart. Pretty stressful considering I feel as if I should be there with her but hard having a newborn as well as a 2 year that need me too. Tim and I plan on going and visiting her this weekend though. We won’t be able to stay long but enough to see her and talk to her. I’ll keep you posted on her status though.
Well I guess that’s all I got! The Burt family is intact and adjusting to having 2 kids around. Hope all is well with everyone and hope to see you all soon!
What an exciting day I had today!!! Baby Brother made it safe and sound and he is so cute! 7lbs 10oz and 20 inches long. We don’t have a name just yet. Mommy and Daddy are thinking about it and will share the news when they have it picked out. Baby Brother works for us now! Mom says we look very similar but there are a few things that are different. I did not really want to hold him today but I wanted to be sure I new where he was at all times! MeMa and PaPa are staying with me till tomorrow so I’ve enjoyed having them at m house. They also brought me a great playhouse for my backyard! It has a mailbox and a kitchen sink it it. Very cool! The mailbox even had a dollar in this afternoon! I put it in my bank and we’ll see what the mailbox will bring tomorrow!
Mommy is doing very well and spending a few days in the hospital so she can come home and take care of all of us again! She did great with her surgery and is looking forward to taking that shower tomorrow! I can’t wait to see her again tomorrow as well.
I hope you all enjoy pictures of my baby brother and I’m sure Mom will post more over the next few weeks! Miss you all and hope to see you soon so you can see my baby brother!
Well the time is nearing for Baby Brother to be here! We are getting quite excited in the Burt household especially since Baby Luke has made his appearance this week. Auntie Heather and Uncle Bear welcomed Lucas Wayne Tucker on Tuesday 9/15 at 9 PM. He weighed 9lbs and is doing great. I wasn't sure about holding him very much but I did like to look at him. He's awfully cute! Mommy says it won't be too much longer till we have our own baby in our house. We'll see what that's going to be like!
Not a whole lot else going on. Mommy and I are going to spend the weekend relaxing and cooking some meals to have after the baby is born while Daddy is at a fishing tournament. We know its brave letting him leave the weekend before Baby Brother is due, but Mom says Baby Brother will behave and stay put till Monday when her C-section is. We'll see! Aunt Davey will be in town this weekend as well so we'll have lunch with her and Baby Jacob and then they'll get to see Baby Brother on Monday before going to the airport! So much fun and looking forward to all of it!
Hope all is well with everyone else and we'll be posting pictures after Baby Brother is born!
Well it has defintely been some time since Mom has written or posted pictures. In fact she doesn't even have that many pictures this time around! We've been busy getting ready for Baby Brother to make his appearance! The scheduled date is Monday the 21st unless he trys to pull something funny. The room is complete and Mommy's nice people from her work through a shower on Friday for baby brother and we should be set with clothes, blankets and diapers! We just need him to get here!!!! I'm not quite sure what having a new baby is going to be like in the house but I'm sure it won't take long for me to figure it out! Mom's biggest fear is that Baby Brothe will wake me up in the middle of the night and she'll have 2 crying kids on her hands. I'm hoping this won't happen for Mom's sake and for my good nights sleep.
We spent the weekend at MeMa and PaPa's lake house. It was quite fun and Uncle Brian and Ethan were there as well. We had fun playing with PaPa and just hanging out. The weather wasn't the best but we made do and played outside as much as possible. PaPa did a great job keeping us entertained 2 at a time! Mom on the other hand did not get any pictures of our fun weekend. Go figure! Oh well, I guess we'll have lots of picutres to share in a few weeks!
Take care all and we'll keep you updated on Baby Brother's appearance!
We've been busy, busy, busy celebrating my 2nd B-day! It was a week long event that started with a party at my house with Mom's side of the family and ending with a party at school with my friends! Tons of funs, lots of wonderful gifts and family to visit with. We got to see all my great Aunt's and Uncle's at the lake from MeMa and PaPa's side as well as cousins that I haven't seen in some time. It was great that they could come and help me celebrate turning 2. Hopefully I'll get to see them all before I turn 3.
I've started going pee-pee in the potty almost all of the time now. I really don't tell Mommy but since she is going potty every 2 hours as well, it makes it easy for me to go to. The whole pooping thing is still a work in progress. I'll get there one of these days! I do wake up dry every morning which Mommy says is REALLY good. I know that when I get up I have to go potty and then I get to put on my pull-ups. Mommy's hoping that over the next 6-8 weeks that I'll get even better and by the time Baby Brother gets here, I'll be in big girl panties. We'll see!
What else about being 2...Temper Tantrums! I don't have too many but the ones that really get to Mom are when she drops me off at school in the morning. It's not every morning but once a week it's melt down city! Throw myself on the floor and everything. Oh boy...how do they do it all day long???? I did get my letter to say I'm going to start transitioning to the 2 year old room at school. Which is going to be different! I've been with Miss Jennifer since I was a baby and now I'll have 2 new teachers. Should be interesting.
We are all getting ready for the arrival of Baby Brother! He's growing big and Mommy's sure looking different. I'm excited for him to get here! We have some more work to do on his room and we still have to find a name for him, but other than that, I think we're ready! Mom says it will be quite the adjustment in our house for me as well as Daddy! I know we can do it though and it will be fun!
Well I hope all is well with everyone and look forward to seeing you all soon!
What fun I've had the past few weekends! I got to go and spend a few nights with MeMa and Papa since MeMa flew into from . I had a great time hanging out with them and spent some great playtime with Cousin Ethan. We went to the lake for the weekend and had a great time! I got to swim in the mini pools that MeMa sat up on the deck and then Daddy took me swimming in the lake as well. I liked the little pools better but know I better get used to the big it will be more fun as I get older. PaPa took Ethan and I on a boat ride before bedtime and we didn't even make it out of their cove before we conked out. We were 2 tired kids! Lots of fun hanging at the lake and I look forward to many more weekends with MeMa and PaPa!
We had a party at our house on the 2nd which was lots of fun. Daddy bought lots of fireworks to shoot of and I loved the sparklers. It made me mad though when I didn't get to light them myself off of someone else’s. I liked holding them and seeing all the pretty colors. Pink was my favorite of all the fireworks. It was lots of fun to have so many kids at my house. We just ran around in the backyard and had a good time. Daddy made some great BBQ pork steak and then everyone else brought yummy side dishes. Lots of fun and I can't wait for our party next year! Then on the actual 4th of July, we went swimming at and Janice's house and then out to GiGi's for more food and fireworks. Thank goodness the weather was so nice and we got to be outside without being too hot! I even had to put my jacket on at the end of night. Got chilly when the sun went down.
Well I think that's about it! Late nights were tons of fun but I'm ready to get back on my schedule. 10 o'clock is way to late for an almost 2 year old to stay awake!
We'll I'm slowly getting closer to 2 and Mommy can tell it in more ways than 1!!! I've had quite the busy few weeks but enjoying every minute of it!!! Mommy and Daddy got my big girl room painted and the beds put up and I'm sleeping in there! It takes me a little longer to go to bed than it used to but hopefully that will get easier as time goes by. Mommy finds herself having to ready a little more of "The Little Mermaid" than she used to. I also like her to sit in my bed and read to me. This may get harder as baby brother gets bigger! And of course there is my Kidz Bop music that I have to turn on before I can go to sleep. Mom's just thankful I get back in my bed instead of running around the house!
It is not a final project but we are getting there slowly. GiGi go my closet moved this weekend which Mom still needs to put my clean laundry away to complete the job. We still need to move the pictures from my baby room and get a bookshelf and a clothes hamper and the room will be complete! Then it will be time to start on Baby Brother's room. I'm excitied to help with this project even though it won't be as much work. Just redoing the wall decorations and making it look like a boys room! Lots of fun though!
Over the past weekend I had a great time! Mommy and Daddy took me to my first major league baseball game Royals vs the Cardinals! I was excited to see Pujols and the Cardnials play, as was Daddy. I did pretty good sitting in the seats till about 9 o'lcock and I really just wanted to go to bed. Aunt Rikki, Uncle Gregg and Sammy Jost were at the game as well and had a suite so we went over there which gave me something to do. I got to move around so I forgot about being so tired. We also go to watch big fireworks and I loved them! I kept pointing out the pink ones to Mom as well as them saying "boom!" Mom says I'm ready for the 4th of July!!! On Saturday, Uncle Brian, Kasie and Ethan came up to KC for another Royals-Cardnials game. GiGi came over to my house with Cade and took care of Ethan and I. We had a great time playing and hanging out. GiGi said Ethan is quite the "getter into things." Watch out Uncle Brian and Kasie! It was nice to spend the weekend with my cousin and I look forward to next weekend at the lake with him! YEAH!
On Sunday we had a busy day of Father Day activities. The day flew by but we had tons of fun! Mom cooked breakfast for Uncle Brian and Daddy with some help from Kasie and then we went to Bass Pro (Daddy's favorite place) I got to run around which is always the best! MeMa and Granny Frasher met us there as well becuase they were flying out to Las Vegas. We had a nice lunch with the Burt family and then I got to go home with Daddy and watch some baseball and take a nap. Mom took MeMa and Granny to the airport and by the time she got home everyone was ready for some relaxation! We hung out around the house for a little bit and then I wanted to take the boat out so Daddy packed us all up and we headed for a boat ride on Blue Springs Lake. I had tons of fun and love to go fast! Mommy gets nervous though so Daddy had to slow down a little bit. We only stayed out about an hour becuase it was getting late and I needed to get home and get to bed!
Monday morning brought another start to the work week in which I wasn't happy about. Nothing seemed to go my way and I really just wanted to go back home with Mommy and go to bed. Mommy said we couldn't do that though and made me go to school anyway. Oh well right-got to do things in life that you might not be used to!
Hope all is well with everyone and you enjoy my new website. Mommy says it's not as user friendly but it has unlimited storage and with Baby Brother on the way, we need that!
This past weekend Mom got to go to STL to visit her friends from college. They celebrated the upcoming arrival of "Aunt Jessica's" baby boy as well as just got to hang out. I got to spend the weekend with MeMa and PaPa sine Daddy went fishing at Truman Lake. A very busy weekend but we had tons of fun! I did fall down while at MeMa and PaPa's and skinned my knees and my lip. I'm okay but I like to tell everyone about it. It was quite traumatic. I enjoyed playing with Cousin Ethan all weekend though and can't wait to do it again soon.
Mom and Dad are spending the next few weeks getting my big girl room done! I'm so excited and can't wait!!! We'll see if I go to bed as easily knowing I can get out of bed whenever I want. Mom and Dad may be in for it! Mom will load pictures when we get the room done! Fun times!
