A new season of life begins for Joy Blythe
On April 27, we received the following letter of resignation from our Director of Children’s Ministry, Joy Blythe.
Please accept this letter as my notice of resignation from the Director of Children's Ministry at Capitol City Christian Church, effective 2 weeks from this date. My last day will be May 11, 2012.
This was not an easy decision to make on my part as it has been very rewarding to serve as the Director of Children's Ministry the past 12 years. It has been a privilege to serve alongside the many talented and dedicated volunteers. I have enjoyed building many meaningful relationships with volunteers, parents and especially the children of Capitol City. I have been richly blessed to partner with parents and ministry volunteers, as together we have nurtured children's faith and watch them grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus.
I thank God for giving me the opportunity to serve Him as well as families and children. I know with God's spirit and His guidance, ministry will continue to flourish for children and families at Capitol City Christian Church.
We are grateful for Joy’s service and pray God’s blessing for her future

"Christmas Alley" Our 2011 Christmas Program
The Aloha Bowl owner and his family have owned the alley for 50+ years. He has developed Alzheimer’s and it is progressing to the point where he can no longer manage the alley. He is well known in the community and has shown unswerving faith over the course of ups and downs both professionally and personally. The Dad demonstrates the importance of seeking God first and he has been rewarded with a true life of meaning as a result of his faith.
His son has taken over, but, with the tourney coming up, feels overwhelmed. He doesn’t know how the alley will survive if the tourney doesn’t do well. The son is frustrated that the alley is about to go under and that he has had to step in to manage the center. He feels the financial strain every day and doesn’t know how he will keep the center going after the new year. He and his sister have had a strained relationship for 20+ years. He responds in many ways like the older brother in the “Prodigal Son”. He loves his dad, but feels that everything has been dumped on his shoulders.
"Christmas Alley"
Bill Hord from our church wrote an article regarding "Christmas Alley" in the Omaha World-Herald on November 27, 2011.
