Toby, Just a quick note, from Area D member, was my first Conference and it was just wonderful, exciting and informative. Nice to meet you, Cynthia Thacker, Buena Park

What a great Area C Conference. You are the best organizer of an Area C Conference. There is more information available then ever before. I had a great time and am sorry that more of our members did not attend. Hope all the next ones are as good as these last ones were.

Toby, Just had to write a note and tell you what a fabulous job you have done these past two years. Last year's Area C Conference I thought was particularly special, having all the State Chairmen manning their own tables promoting their Community Service Programs -- so very helpful. Today's Conference was filled with wonderful philanthropy opportunities and the speakers were right on target. Very well done. Thank you so much. Corinne Moore, Sierra-Cahuenga District

Toby, this is wonderful. I must have been having a senior moment if this website was mentioned in the past. I had no idea it existed.
Love having it and will be checking in to keep on top of things. Thanks Toby. See you in Feb at CFWC Boards.

Toby, Thanks for the great - COMPLETE - website! I tried to find the Area C Call on the CFWC site with no luck. I came here and it was as easy as falling off a log! Thanks for keeping us in the know. Dixie

AREA C Conference Information

The AREA C Conference, hosted by Los Cerritos District at the beautiful Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse, is a Philanthropy Fair designed to give our members an opportunity to speak with various organizations (501c3) to get new project ideas.  You’ll have plenty of time to visit the wide variety of Philanthropy Tables, which open at 9:00am.  If you arrive early, you can enjoy a Continental Breakfast while gaining project ideas.

This year, we’ve chosen to support Foster Children Resource Project.  Please visit their website link (to the right) for more information.

Each of the Districts in Area C have chosen to support this project and are requesting their members to donate specific items that are in need:

San Gabriel Valley District:     Backpacks and/or School Supplies, All Ages

Los Cerritos District:     Toddler Clothing, Ages 2-4 Years

Sierra Cahuenga District:      Toiletries for Children & Teens, All Ages

Marina District:         T-Shirts & Outerwear Pants, Ages 0 – 8 Years

Please support this wonderful project by bringing your items to this year’s Conference.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact your District President or Chairman.

Our Keynote Speaker, Kim Mitchellwill enlighten us with:

Staring Down a Squirrel

Miss Mitchell thinks of herself as a renaissance woman.  She travels and speaks internationally, sings, and is an adjunct professor at UCLA.  As contributing author to Inspiration to Realization Volume II, her chapter is entitled, "Living Your Soul Print".  Miss Mitchell has visited many countries including England where she studied drama and Shakespearian literature at Oxford University.

Drawing on her extensive background in theater, filmmaking, teaching and writing, her presentations unleash the creativity that comes from using both sides of your brain together. The result?   Her audiences feel more connected to their community and each other, free to express themselves as creative beings able to solve any problem.

The Conference CALL & Forms have been mailed to each of the AREA C Club Presidents and is also available below & on the Download Page, as well as, our website @ cfwc.org.  Club Presidents, Deans, and Membership Officers & Chairmen are encouraged to attend along with members.

Adele

Santa Monica Bay Woman’s Club

Santa Monica, California

Founded in 1905, the Santa Monica Bay Woman’s Club has a reputation, more than 100 years in the making, of empowering women. Could there be a more fitting place for British siren Adele to belt out her powerful anthems? The intimate and ever-so-elegant ballroom of the neoclassical structure provided a perfect setting for the songstress to deliver lean but still-piercing versions of her hits “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You.” “I feel more comfortable doing my songs stripped down,” Adele says about her acoustic performance in the venue. “I tend to do a bit more with my vocals and expose more.”
