Together we cover Orange County California with a blanket of service and volunteerism. Twenty-two clubs offer women of all ages opportunity for social growth, education, leadership training, community service and support. We are proud members of the California Federation of Women's Clubs (www.cfwc.org) and the General Federation of Women's Clubs (www.gfwc.org).
I will be attending the GFWC Convention in Florida and look forward to bringing back Membership Ideas to share with all of you! Please keep in touch with your members over the summer months. There is still time to plan at least one get together before summer ends.
Summer is also a great time for RECRUITMENT, so take advantage of this usually quiet time for most clubs, by planning a Membership Recruitment Event. The GFWC has a PSA that you can use. Two suggestions are to send it to your local cable station with your information as a forward, and add it to your website.

General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is the parent organization of the California Federation of Women’s Clubs (CFWC) - Orange District. The GFWC mission statement encompasses those of its subordinate organizations. That mission statement is:
"The General Federation of Women's Clubs is an International Women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service"
The CFWC-Orange District 2012-2014 Administration’s Theme is:
Volunteers * The Heart and Hands of Federation
Our General Federation of Women’s Clubs exists due to its members, member volunteers who are the HEART of GFWC. This president also believes that the hands of our organization are the many hands of its member volunteers. The caring hands that shelter the hungry clothe the needy, honor this country’s veterans and so much more.
This administration’s special emphasis will be Literacy. Clubwomen can provide a valuable service to members of our community by participating in literacy events, volunteering in literacy programs or providing funds to such organizations. We shall keep those hands busy in the next two years to assure our organization's heart does not skip a beat!
