A few of us took a little Sunday afternoon ride to Glen Rose today.  Back roads to Cleburne, Hwy 67 to Glen Rose and 3/4 mile off the beaten path we found Loco Coyote as busy as ever.  Beautiful November afternoons shouldn't be wasted!.  A few photos have been uploaded for your viewing.

November is the month for W-2 to gather on Monday nights at Buffalo Wild Wings in Waxahachie.   We will meet at 7:00 p.m. and have some fun! Don't miss it!

This weekend was fabulous--fabulous weather, fabulous company, and did I mention fabulous weather?  Saturday and Sunday were filled with delightful experiences centered around Lawton, Oklahoma.  You might be surprised what there is to do around there.  Pictures have been added to give you a taste of the weekend.

  Hello all I have uploaded A few pics from the pre ride to Lawton and Mt Scott we had lots of fun and good weather. If you want to see more you will have to go on the ride on October 24 your self. We only saw a small part of what there is to see and do. So go on the ride have fun and take lots of pics for Terri and Me. We will not make the ride due to Terri's 30th class reunion yes i said 30th, LOL  so have fun when you go. Ride safe. Bill Avon 

Had a great ride to Jake & Dorothy's Restaurant in Stephenville. We left Tractor Supply and headed south thru Blum, Meridian & on into Stephenville. The food was really good, and Lee Gravley said that he thought the waitress was there when he went in there back in '59. Everyone had plenty to eat and we mounted back up for a ride on to the Avon's for Cheesecake & Chocolate Cake. By the time we got to the Avon's it was 104 degrees out & we were so glad they had the A/C crankin'. Thanks to Bill for using us as guinea pigs for his cheescake recipe and Terri for the great fruit tray;the watermelon was especially good.

We would like to congratulate our Chapter Educator, Andy Lancaster, on getting his Private Pilot's License on Thursday June 25th. This has been a dream of his for over 25 years and we are proud of him for achieving this goal.

W-2 will be going to Waco this Saturday.  The destination is the new location of Buzzard Billy's. Departure will be at 10:00 a.m. from Tractor Supply in Waxahachie.  Join us!

With the best time to ride in Texas quickly approaching, or arguably already here, W-2 has lots of plans for the spring and early summer.  Here is just a quick list of some things you might want to consider doing so you can be ready.  

Get your orders in to Andy for a new chapter shirt. 

Alert your boss to Hooky Day  April 22. 

 Secure a place to stay in Amarillo for the District Meeting May 14-16. 

Make your reservations with Bill for the Mystery Ride in May 30-31. 

This is definitely not an all inclusive list, but it will give you an idea of the activity level of W-2 for April and May.

We had a good turnout for the Workday considering how cold and windy it was on Saturday. We did have some brave souls to ride their bikes and the ladies worked on some of the scrapbook pages in preparation for the Scrapbook Competition at District Rally in Amarillo. We cooked up some hot dogs and the fixin's as well as had some really good desserts. I think everyone had a great time, we had a couple of surprise visitors; Glennis made one of his first outings since his eye surgery. We were so glad to see him and look forward to seeing him and Sheri back on the bikes. 

Bill Avon was pancake poetry in motion Saturday, January 24.  Bill and his daughter, Tiffany, served a  pancake spread deserving a "five star" rating from any pancake connoisseur.  At moments the conversation was limited to,"What kind would you like? and how many?"  A few pictures are included in the slideshow above. 

The December monthly meeting was also our annual Christmas Party.  After Dan's greetings, celebrating January birthdays, and sharing medical situations of our participants, Rhodie Rawls,Executive Director of CASA of Ellis County,  accompanied by her husband Don, related how the Toy Drive proceeds had been put to use.  Great stuff!  Andy Lancaster, Chapter Educator, awarded Laurie McCarty and Billie Beck the patches earned through Rider Ed.  More good stuff!  THEN-----

24 chapter participants began to share laughter, gifts, and witty dialogue, (thank you Mike and Pat.) We had one grave disappointment--Shorty thought he was getting jumper cables, but instead he had to settle for taking away Calgon. Maybe we should make that two disappointments, Ed did not wind up with the Cowboy stadium seats, either.  Maybe next year!

Four hours work, contributions from Lonnie Ellis and Chapter M, a truck full of toys from an almost anonymous donor, 30 people, 15 bikes/trikes, and one RV later, W-2 donated $5009.82 to Ellis County kids for Christmas, 2008. Many thanks to all who gave of their time, talent, and treasure to this endeavor. (See more great pictures under the W-2 picture tab.)

We had the Potluck Dinner last night at Dan & Donna's home in Midlothian Texas. Terri & Bill Avon, Andy & Elizabeth Lancaster, Lee & Linda Gravley attended and there was plenty of food and fellowship to go around. After dessert, the guys pulled out the dominoes and played "chicken foot". The ladies got out the scrapbooking supplies and worked on getting some pages put together. Everyone had a great time and hope that more members will join us next time. Check out the pictures on our W2 PIctures page.

I like it! This will help with interaction and info sharing. There will still be some without computers that won't be able      to  participate through this method so they need to get their  info out to their  friends who can share it for them. Good  work Elizabeth!! Keep it up!!
