Changes A-Coming to the 2012 Parade!!!!

Hello friends and fans of the Charlotte Labor Day Parade Committee,

We hope your holiday season finds you well. With all the new and exciting things coming up in 2012, the Committee would like to update you on the changes to next year's parade. Be sure to click on the "Press Release" tab to see the latest news from our Parade Chairman.

Weather Update

With the impending arrival of rain from Tropical Storm Lee, Parade Chairman Ben Lee has issued a statement regarding the weather and tomorrow's Labor Day parade.

"We deal with the threat of bad weather every year.  We leave it up to the individual groups and participants to decide if it's too wet for them.  Many of us in labor work in the rain anyway, so we try not to break the continuity of the parade.  The parade committee has numerous monetary obligations in contracts we can't back out of by canceling.  In the worst case, we will try to run the motorized units and those that wish to proceed.  We certainly understand if someone wishes not to participate due to weather."

Hopefully, the rain will hold out until after the parade! However, the Labor Day Parade Committee will be posting updates via our Facebook site all morning up until the beginning of the parade. Our Facebook site can be found at www.Facebook.com/CLDPC. After the parade, you can find recap of the parade as well as photos of the event. Thank you again to all the Committee, participants, and community for your hard work and support of the parade. We look forward to seeing you there! Happy Labor Day!!!
