2011, Cherokee Cove, and Family Camp Out
Cherokee Cove will be re-opening in March 2011. We are so excited to be able to offer Family Camp Outs with our newly renovated camping village! Last summer we had generous mission teams help us expand our facilities in order to enhance the family camping ministry. The bath house is expanded, as well as the Pavilion. There is a brand new play ground with beautiful equipment and landscaping. We are excited and eager to have new families come join us and good friends return to Cherokee Cove for Family Camp Out. Check out our photo albums to see the amazing work accomplished. We can not wait to see what the Lord will do! This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Pond project
At Cherokee Cove they are putting a pond in the Evergreen Village. I can hardly wait to see what is to come, the pond is looking so good. Stu,the men and the uphill youth boys are working so hard to get it finished. There are only a few pictures right now of the men working on it, but in a few more days maybe a week or more there will be pictures of the finished product. You will be so surprised at the work God is doing though Cherokee Cove. He is and will do amazing things through Sam and Stu and their children. They have an amazing love for the Lord and can do mighty things through Jesus Christ. Every time I walk through the doors of Cherokee Cove I feel Gods blessings, and the work that He has done. I can not wait to go back and see them again!
"Walk down the Mountain with you heart held high..."
I love Bebo Norman's "Walk Down the Mountain" song and it always reminds me of the peaceful walks I've had here at Cherokee Cove. This week we are recruiting strong backed hard workers who enjoy doing trail maintenance. If there are those of you who have some time to volunteer the next couple of weeks out here, and you enjoy working out side, we have plenty of trails that need some TLC!
Fall Volunteers
We really need volunteers to come out during the weekends of September and October. Fall is the time when our volunteer numbers drop and this year every weekend is booked. So look at your calender and consider coming out to help us serve in the kitchen, keep the facilities clean, and sharing God's love with guests this fall!
Calling all young men!
The next few weeks of this beautiful summer will be filled with Teen Cooking Camp and Mission Teams, and hopefully your presences! William will be out here for the rest of the summer leading the UpHill Youth, along side Stu, in work projects and serving the guests who come. If you are a young man interested in working outside, and in the kitchen, and you have a desire to serve behind the scenes please call or email us and we would for you to be apart of the work God is accomplishing!
Evergreen Village Retreat Center
We have a need for volunteers to come and do some finishing touches for the Retreat Center. The West Hartsville Baptist Men Mission group is here this week working on finishing the building so hopefully sometime next week we will be ready for some handyman type volunteers to bring this project into completion!
