There's something so amazing about capturing life as it happens, no matter which perspective you stand along. This was a lesson I learned--God's version of RPRT: Right Place, Right Time--throughout this recent Choral Season. And, though my time here at Saint Barnabas has been a good less than five years, this recent Season's been the best yet. From the celebration of our Parish's 125th Anniversary [as well as the School's 35th Anniversary], to the Ordination of Father Dr. Ed, to Pentecost, there hasn't been quite a dull moment for this Choir, which has become since I joined a special second family to me.
It was rather difficult to catch what-all went on, from a Chorister's perspective [ever tried taking a picture mid-Procession?], but it was worth the effort. Oftentimes I wish the quality of *some!* of the pics were better but, as my only weapon in the photography arsenal was my camera-phone...
I hope that the pics do some sense of justice to what's been an amazing Choral Season, captured in the eyes of one of the Choir's most unique individuals...
...Cheers!

Either it's me, or all the Saints are making their way in for the biggest party in 125 years...
Sims in 1880's attire. [I still can't believe how meh that came out. *sighs and shakes her head* How on earth...]

To the Harwood Center we go...
Inside the Harwood Center
As the Congregation began to gather inside the Harwood Center, the Choir however were on stage with the Children's Choir [I think...?] and the Acolytes.
Choirmaster Peter - something to the effect of, "When Father Don gives us the okay, 'Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow', alright? [choir somewhere all in agreement] Alright."
A good handful of the Founders of Saint Barnabas turned up for the party. Niiiice!
Really, there was quite a turn-out of a Congregation for the festivities. I actually got a bit intimidated [slight stagefright mixed with adrenaline] by the fact that, there's so. many. people.

When Bishop Hugo is armed with holy water, no one [I repeat NO ONE] is safe. *see next pic for proof*
See? I told you no one is safe from Bishop Hugo when he's armed with holy water!
Bishop Hugo blessed each of the rooms in the Upstairs of the Harwood Center during Deacon Nancy's tour of the area.
The view of the Gym from the Skybox [yes, one of the Classrooms doubles as a Skybox!]
Just about 8 minutes to a 6 P.M. Evensong. I'm psyched. [By the way that's one half of the Stetson University's Concert Choir.]

This was actually in Angola, Indiana, where I stayed for the better part of my Winter Vacation. It's the Civil War Memorial in the center of town. I sent this picture to our Choir Librarian for her Birthday--I just don't remember whether or not I sent it on time!! ~ Taken on Saturday 29 December 2007
It was the coldest day of the year--let's all go to the dairy farm! While on the way however, in Lafayette, Indiana, I fell enchanted by the sight of snow-covered trees--something you definitely do NOT see in Florida. I should've sent this to the Choir as a New Year's greeting. Or not. ~ Taken on Wednesday 2 January 2008
Hey, it's a great day to go skiing!! ...not if you're Sunshine. *grr* I learned that, I can't ski for the life of me. Shame on [Step]Mom for not signing us Dad and I for lessons. Dad got the hang of it, I opted to stay on the bunnyhills and ski straight into the waist-high piles of snow. The only saving grace was this pic taken inside the rental car before we left Lafayette for Elkhart, in which I remember only myself telling my little brother Zachy to "Hey! duck for just a second... PERFECT!!" ~ Taken on Thursday 3 January 2008
Thursday 13 March 2008 was when I helped make Palm Crosses for Palm Sunday, which was the Sunday following. Just as I was about to head for the Downtown District for Lunch, I came across a brilliant sight--hey! our Stained Glass Windows are back!!

Even though I had only 7 minutes until the service began, when you're armed with a camera there's no such thing as wasting chances.
The Acolytes, Deacon Nancy, and Bishop Hugo.
The Processional at the beginning of the service--and right behind the Acolytes too
I did mention, it's a bit difficult to take a good moving shot mid-Procession, right?
Somehow, I think I did get the Bishop in there. I think.
The 18 Confirmands
If my memory serves me proper, that's Father Ed's family up there as some of the family members were being either confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church
And a pretty cake too!
Deacon Nancy and I took a pic of each other... well, taking a pic of each other!!
Bishop Hugo serenades for a parishioner--in Spanish!! Definitely a memorable moment.

Our superb Church Organist and resident Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Dr. Michael Rickman
Really, the Main Sanctuary was fairly bright, but still beautiful
Ryne Cherry [seated in last row of Choir area, with the Basses] graced our Choir with helping out in the Barritone solo for Choirmaster Peter's masterpiece "Come Down O Love Divine", and not forgetting the two Trumpeteers and two Trombonists to thank for their assistance as well [though at the moment I don't have the bulletin on me, and my memory's kinda shot out at the moment].

Barry McCoy of the Vestry, one of the two main Parish photographers. He also had the honor of photographing the Confirmands as they were confirmed/received by Bishop Hugo Pina-Lopez back on Sunday 27 April.
Barry and Deacon Nancy Kline, our resident Parish Photographers. [I guess technically I'm probably the third, but for the moment the title Underground Choral Photographer seems to suit me proper. *grin*]
Father Ed and his family, with the exception of Rachel who was with me
Quite a good amount of food for a Church Picnic. I'm hungry!!
Father Don, surrounded by kids, on the golf cart. While I didn't go for a ride with the kids [I was too busy multitasking between eating and catching up on things with Rachel], it certainly looked like fun. [Mental memo to self - GO. NEXT. YEAR.]
I forgot the dog's name, but she was quite a sweetie. And I couldn't help capture the moment between her and Rachel.
A slightly beachy area. Complete with--get this!!--a hammock!! But for the moment, Rachel, Joshua [my friend Gunnard's son] and I had just arrived, and it looked simply perfect for a photo op.
Rachel taking a walk towards the water
I can't tell you just how blue it got. Literally. And miraculously the camera-phone caught it.
Though not as blue as RiB part 1, still a beautiful moment.
HEY! I told y'all there was a hammock...
Choirmaster Peter, in a Hawaiian shirt no less, seemed ready for the Summer Vacation to start, as well as the last Choir Practice of the year.
About to rehearse "God Is Our Refuge and Strength", which Peter composed, with the Organ.
I swear, when I get a better camera, I'm going to take better pictures of the Organ. It's such a majestic instrument. Seriously.
Father Don and Father Ed talk about cookies for VBS [Vacation Bible School], as Father Ed could NOT resist eating a cookie or two. Later in the Announcements Father Don mentioned that Father Ed had been accused of eating the cookies meant for VBS, and then made note that Father Ed was innocent of all accounts of it, and that it was alright for the Congregation to "Donate Cookies With Confidence!!"
As to how Dr. Steeves got hold of Dr. Rich's Cassock and Cotta--which were on Dr. Steeves' hanger to begin with!!--is beyond me and the Choir. Here, photographic evidence of what happens when Cassocks and Cottas DON'T go on their respective hangers!!
All seated and ready to go...

Alright, all the pics that have been taken are up. The only pics I need, I haven't taken yet. That will be on this upcoming Sunday.
In the meantime, the Time Between, Pentecost and Church Picnic sections have their pictures named and descriptions taken. I still have a long ways to go but, by the Grace of God I'll get more done before I try to get some sleep tonight.
Stay tuned!
ETA [Edited to Add] - 8:19 P.M. - Alright! All the titles and/or descriptions for the pics are done!! *whew!*
ETA #2 - 8:39 P.M. - Okay, okay. Final update of the night, I promise. Included the Postlude [thank-yous]. Because plenty of thanks is due. Really.
Okay, I think I'll try to get some sleep now, I promise...!!

...so He appointed Sunny to do it.
Thanks much, Chief!!
Well, welcome aboard to the Choral Yearbook '08! I finally got around to doing this, even as I've been terribly busy with work [Monday-Friday 5A.M.-1P.M. shifts *sigh*] and, as of when I came home today, part of my ceiling having fallen on my stove.
<--[very, very angry me] So needless to say, this has been the highlight of the week and, to add to it, something to take my mind off of things. Well, for now at least.
I'll update this with more pictures as I go along. I took maybe close to 100 pictures total, or so it feels like. And I still have a few more to take this Sunday upcoming, when this Choral Season draws to a brilliant finish.
In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy the pictures and relive your memories of what-all went on, from what you saw in YOUR perspective.
Until the next round [or update, or something!], Cheers!
~ Sunny
As the albums in this Yearbook are arranged in chronological order, to catch the latest pics you need to scroll DOWN!! There are a total of 8 albums in this Yearbook [so far].
There's a lot of work that goes into a Choral Yearbook. And lots--lots--of thanks is due.
~ To God--Father, Son, and Holy Ghost--for blessing me with a voice to sing with, a camera on a phone, and a sense of adventure. To Thee be all Glory, now and for ever, Amen.
~ To Father Don and Father Ed, for the sermons which always continue to inspire us, and especially to Father Ed for joining our Parish Family. [I feel kinda bad for not taking pics of the sermon with God's cup of blessings never running out. Water, stat!!]
~ To Deacon Nancy and Barry, my photo-catching muses, and knowing that sometimes an offbeat Chorister has her own story to tell in pictures.
~ To Bishop Hugo, and Dr. Alan Raines and the Stetson University Concert Choir, for gracing the Parish with your presence and helping to make this Choral Season one for the ages.
~ And last, but never the least yet among the foremost, to Choirmaster Peter, Dr. Rickman, and this beloved Choir--for putting up patiently with me, my humors of catching life as it happens, and my strange humor. But most of all, for being a second family to me, through the ties that bind by the Grace of God. This Choral Yearbook is for you all.
Until September '08, when the whirlwind begins again...
~ Sunny
