Chris Stafford is a TV & Radio Broadcaster, Artist and International Equestrian Consultant.


She is the host of the weekly EVENTING RADIO SHOW and DRESSAGE RADIO SHOW and the JUMPING RADIO SHOW on the Horse Radio Network.  Coming Soon: a new bi-weekly radio show; EQUESTRIAN LEGENDS. 

Chris wears many hats in equestrian media as an equestrian media consultant, author, journalist, producer, director and broadcaster.  She is also an artist and photographer.  Chris has been extensively published as a journalist having covered international equestrian sport for over thirty years.  Her equestrian and travel photography has been published and exhibited worldwide.  Chris has produced numerous TV and video programs on equestrian sport.  She is also a voice artist and has recorded audio books and PSA's as well as providing live sports commentating, announcing and voicing TV and video programming.

Chris' photo exhibition, 'Weight of the World' has been exhibited at venues in the U.S.

Chris grew up in England, leaving home in her mid teens to pursue a career as a professional rider.  She traveled the world, riding and training sport horses, and has worked with some notable riders including Olympians; Peter Robeson, Caroline Bradley, Vittorio Orlandi, Graciano Mancinelli, Sheila Willcox and Ginny Elliot.  In 1987, injuries forced early retirement and Chris focused on her second career in equestrian media.  She has lived in seven countries and has been round the world pursuing photo-journalism.

Chris has served as an Adjunct Professor of Equine Studies at Midway College.

I have just sold a large piece of art to a collector in Ireland who was visiting. It's a scene of a capsized boat on rough seas with a dramatic sky from my imagination yet it evoked a strong memory for the buyer of a real life incident off the south coast of England many years ago.

UPDATES

Chris hosted daily WebTV/Video productions for Alltech during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Here & Now featured daily news, views and interviews each day from the Kentucky Horse Park. 16 shows were produced with the Alltech crew and the episodes were aired around the world.  They can be found on the Alltech website at www.alltech.com or on YOUTUBE; search for Alltech Here & Now.

Christine E. Stafford Groom of the Year Award

The Christine E. Stafford Groom of the Year award was established in 2005 for the U.S. Eventing Association to recognize the vital role played by the groom, who works countless hours behind the scenes to make sure their charges are healthy, happy, and poised for success. Nominations are made by their employers, reviewed by the USEA Awards Nomination Committee and awarded at the Annual USEA Convention.
