I wore this necklace to my cousin Cathy's funeral yesterday. I've renamed this piece Cathy's Heart in her memory
This piece with the matching bracelet reminds me of coffee and cream. It's two luscious shades of brown and beige with amber glass beads.
These colors always remind me of my Lisa.
Chain of fools. Brass chain with brick red ceramic discs and matching earrings.
Hard to see the detail on this unless you see it in person.
I love the colors and the asymetry of this piece.
She sits on my kiln during firing and watches over it.
Hi everyone. I wanted to let you know about my new blog. It's kind of like this site but it lets me post pictures with each post. Instead of an attachment that you have to open. I plan to keep pictures up on this site, but most of my posts will be on the blog. Please click here and then when you get to my blog, click on Follow. www.cindydolezaldesigns.blogspot.com
This is a new one for me. My brand new neighbor, Lisa, bought one of my tiles at my Studio Sale. They were in the process of remodeling their new home. Recently, they told me I needed to come over and see their new kitchen. They had my tile installed in their backsplash!!!! I was thrilled.

I’m not good at New Years Resolutions but I do like new beginnings. And every year (every day, actually) is a chance to make a change for the better. I challenged myself last January to find opportunities to donate more of my jewelry or pottery to good causes. I did make a few donations. One of the charities that inspired me was Empty Bowls. It’s a dinner held in conjunction with the El Paso Community College
which benefits the West Texas Food Bank. They sell tickets to a dinner and then auction off bowls made by students and local artists in lots of different mediums. The bowls can be functional or decorative so the possibilities are endless. That sounded perfect for my pottery group. I started collecting handmade bowls from them and we probably have about 15 now. The local dinner is scheduled for February 20 at the new EPCC Admin building on Viscount. You can click here for details. http://www.wtxfoodbank.org/events/74-empty-bowls-el-paso
If I were ever the First Lady I think childhood hunger would be my “cause”. You can do everything else better and handle everything better if you aren’t hungry.
Let me know if you are looking for a door prize or auction item for any charitable or non-profit organization including school activities. I’d love to help.
I had a great time and a pretty successful sale at the Arts Festival Plaza downtown on Sunday. It was in conjunction with a Chili Cookoff and the proceeds went to the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso. The weather was great. A little chilly in the morning but with the donation of a bloody mary from a sympathetic friend I did fine. Afternoon was lovely and it was just in time for Valentines Day sales. My hearts were my biggest sellers. The pendants and some small heart stamped dishes I did. (Rings, soap or change dishes)
On to Spring!! I'm working on attaching some of my birds to copper rods for sticking into houseplants and/or outside in the garden. I'll post pictures when I get them done. Stay tuned.
Thanks everyone for your support at my Second Annual Studio Sale. I had a blast but I'm totally worn out. I thought last night when I went to bed that I must be getting the flu I was so tired. But after a good nights sleep I feel fine today. I still have inventory left and I am going to do a Craft Fair at St. Matthews on Sunset on November 1.
Also I am currently booking private parties where, if you host a party and have at least 5 people there- besides you - you get to choose 2 pieces of jewelry for yourself. Let me know if you're interested.
And thanks again everyone for your thoughts, prayers and support.
I haven't been adding pictures to my site lately. I've been working to get everything ready for my Studio Sale. If you want to see what I've been doing lately, you'll have to come by in September. I'm really looking forward to it. Last year I had no idea what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome of my Studio Sale. So this year, who knows. We have new artists involved and I know my style has evolved from last year. I even got my daughter-in-law to show some of her bows she does. They are really beautiful. So make plans. September 25 and 26 10 to 4 pm. 5128 Camino de la Vista Dr.
See you there and please bring a friend.
Get ready. And tell a friend.
It's time for my second annual Studio Sale. Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. til 4 p.m. Please make plans to attend, bring a friend and do your holiday shopping. I'll open my home studio at 5128 Camino de la Vista Dr. in El Paso and showcase my pottery and jewelry. I've invited other artists to display their wares too. The cookie lady will be back. Some of my pottery group friends. And this year we have a textile artist joining us.
Also this year I am bringing in Beads for Life. Check out this amazing story here. http://www.beadforlife.org/ The proceeds from the sale of these recycled paper beads supports whole villages in Uganda. They are colorful, lightweight and beautiful.
Can't wait to see you there.
I just opened the kiln this morning. I absolutely love opening up the kiln. I usually let it cool overnight and then it's like Christmas in the morning. Little black birds and tiles and fall color pendants. And there was just a hint of coolness in the air this morning. Fall is just around the corner. I can't wait. I'm so done with summer.
