Many people ask us why we would want to use spade bits for some reason they think they are a very severe bits.

Well that simply just not true, in fact if you look at it simply from just a mecanical standpoint how can a bit that distributes pressure over a larger area with the same amount leverage as a bit with a smaller mouthpiece be more severe.( The ansewer is it can't) yet if you hold up a spade in one hand and a halfbreed in the other at least 95%of the people out there will say the spade is more severe. THIS IS FALSE?

Funny how a spade just seems to fit a horses mouth better
