We are trying to do our part in helping the "PINKED" get in the black. Recent budget cuts have caused several layoffs therefore we've partnered with CSC to hold a Pink Slip Mixer. Aug 6, 2009 from 1pm-3pm. THIS IS A MUST REGISTER EVENT. Please call 635-2617 to register by July 30th. Only those who are on the list will be allowed to attend. SPACE IS LIMITED.

 

Job seekers will network with other job seekers to see where their skills and abilities lie. As well as Employers will be on site to mingle and give job leads and pass on information regarding what those employers require when hiring. Other resources will be available on site to assist in the season of layoffs.

We are excited about our recent award shown on the home page "Chamber of the Year 2008" presented at the Ron Brown Economic Summit on Aug 23, 2008. We shared this title with Moreno Valley. The Summit was the 13th Annual conference by the state chamber. (CBCC)

 Look forward to JR Chamber as it moves to motivate students in the Bakersfield area in Business.

The Jr Chamber was rolled out at this event and we are beginning the process to begin our chapter here in Bakersfield. These young students will be introduced to the entrepreneurial world of business, do some job shadowing and be embraced by the business community in mentorship.

 

November is coming and our first HOME FRONT "the other store front" will take place on November 8th at the Kern County Fair Grounds. The event will be open to the public, with renting of vendor and food booths available. This will bring attention and help market the home-based business owner. This is free to the public. (9:30-4:30pm) Vendor applications are on our website at www.kcbcc.net Parking is also free.
