As I write this, another snow storm is heading our way and I haven’t wiped the car down from the last rain/sleet storm I drove through this Spring. Ah well, we need the water…
The activity calendar is filling up and the car show planning is in full swing. If you want to help the subcommittee in its planning, please contact Dean Danielson. Advertisements for the car show will be in the CCCC’s Havana Cruise flyer, and in the Scoop, along with many local web sites that advertise car shows.
Last month we had some great adventures – Take 2 of the Schmeekle Garage Tour preceded by breakfast at Great Scott’s, breakfast and a tour of the Coors Brewery, and more.
Car show pre-registrations will kick-off in mid-May. Be sure to talk up the show as we’re competing with the KBPI show that is the same day. A car show flyer is posted to the web site.
For any event you attend, please consider posting pictures to the website as an album.
Woo Hoo! I think Spring is upon us and with that comes the ‘opportunity’ to get our cars shined up, tires aired up, chrome polished, fluids filled, and car insurance updated.
The activity calendar is starting to fill up with some great opportunities this month including a Club event of a garage tour of Wayne Schmeekle’s collection in Ft. Morgan, some local car shows, and a combined Club Show & Shine down in Florence, CO. For the Schmeekle Tour and the Show and Shine in Florence, multiple local Mopar clubs are being invited so that we have a strong showing.
Great progress continues on the web-site redesign thanks to Corey. If you missed March’s meeting, Corey demonstrated some of the pages and his vision for the site navigation.
Also in March’s meeting, one of our newest members Annie Miller passed around a great write-up of how she caught the Mopar ‘car disease’ – her words. Check out her write-up in the newsletter.
Remember to update the Club calendar on the web site with any shows you become aware of; the newsletter will also continue to report upcoming events.
For any event you attend, please consider posting pictures to the website as an album.
Take care, Anne
Greetings all:
Short and sweet this month.
Please pay your 2013 dues. The benefits and responsibilities of the two levels of benefits are shown below to help you make your decision. I sincerely hope you find club membership a good value to you and your family. I also hope that you consider recommending Club membership to friends and co-workers.
You may mail your payment to the Club PO box as shown on the front cover of the newsletter or you can give it to Erik or any other Officer.
The Tri-State Swap Meet is coming up on February 9th.- here’s the website for more info: http://www.tristateswapmeet.com/default.htm
The Club had a good turnout at the Polar Bear Swap Meet – when I last saw Tony, Ivy, and Gerad, they had barely started perusing the inside booths for MOPAR treasures.
Happy New Year Colorado Mopar Club Members!
I first want to thank those who participated in the December Holiday Party / Monthly meeting. Besides great food and an always entertaining White Elephant Gift Exchange, we also addressed a lot of business. We voted on new Club Officers, we welcomed two new members and we clarified the Bylaws. More details are inside this newsletter on all these items.
Please pay your 2013 annual dues as soon as possible. A description of the two types of memberships are included below. As a reminder, the dues provide funds for:
It’s not too early to think about the 2013 car show. Dean will be looking for volunteers soon. We encourage all Club members to participate in some part of the show. Keep reading the monthly newsletters for more information.

Good day all -
Here is a CORRECTION / ANNOUNCEMENT to the upcoming Color Cruise that was
announced in the September newsletter's Letter from the President column.
MEMBERS and FRIENDS of the Colorado MOPAR Club (CMC) are invited to
participate in a combined club color cruise on SUNDAY - not Saturday -
Sunday, September 30. The car clubs involved include Southern Colorado
MOPAR (confirmed) and Walter P. Chrysler (TBD).
The three clubs will meet up at the Deckers Store at 11:00 a.m. at the
intersection of CO Rd 126 and S. CO 67.
I plan on doing a pre-cruise on Sunday, September 23 and I welcome some
club members to join me. The goal is to have a picnic spot picked out and
some suggested short cruises for post-picnic.
There may be a fire ban in place so Kent's idea of having prepared meats
(i.e. fried chicken, etc.) may be best. Let's see what happens.
If you'd like to help plan the route, picnic area and possible side routes
on September 23, reply to this e-mail with your phone number. I will be
on vacation starting this coming Friday and can't reply to messages
promptly but I'll call you as soon as I can.
Thanks for your understanding and possible help, Anne

‘Tis the season to sell cars – in just the past two days, I’ve been approached by Mopar owners interested in selling their cars. One contact was an owner’s representative interested in finding out more about a 1969 Dodge Super Bee 440 6pak with very low mileage that’s been sitting in a garage for 30+ years. The other was a local owner of a 1976 Dodge Aspen Special Edition Station Wagon. The latter is posted in our newsletter's Classifieds section. Quite a difference in Mopars huh? Both these contacts found us through the web site, which shows the importance of a quality site.
Remembering that our Club motto is ‘Friends helping Friends’, please extend a helping hand to anyone who is interested in repairing or selling a Mopar, feel free to give them my number or anyone else that can help.
We still need Car Show VENDORS, for both food and merchandise! You all received the revised flyer from Dean via e-mail, please print a few and hand them out at whatever shows, car or other We have a $25 charge for the vendors; a form is posted on the Club web site for the vendor to submit. Please reach out to friends and family for vendor ideas.
July’s Club meeting will be back at the Arvada Community Food Bank; we will be having a short meeting and then watching a movie outside. Please bring blankets, chairs, etc.
Well, we’ve made some decisions on our club web site – I’ve included a summary later in the newsletter. Thank you all for your input and patience while we worked through all the details. Great news – Keal Vigil has kindly agreed to take over the web master duties from Rich Oliver so Rich can focus on launching his mobile skateboard repair business. Keal has been making some nice improvements to the site with more coming this month to support the car show. Keep checking back!
This coming weekend unofficially starts the summer car show season with the Great Machine Show, the Golden Super Cruise and many more events. If you're a member, remember to register on the club web site if you haven’t already to get notifications from the club calendar.
I’ve initiated a new column in the newsletter this month called NEW ARRIVALS! We had three in April, check out the pictures!
Car show update: We need VENDORS, for both food and merchandise! We have a $25 charge for the vendors; a form is posted on the Club web site for the vendor to submit. Please reach out to friends and family for vendor ideas.
Hope to see you at the May meeting. Travel safe.
Thanks to everyone for the great newsletter ideas – four members
recommended articles this past month – I’ve included two in this
month’s edition, the remaining two will be in next month’s. Keep ‘em
coming!
Also, based on feedback from the club, I’ve included an older
crossword puzzle from a
1956 Dodge Sales Brochure crosswordpuzzle that I found online. I’ve found other car-related puzzles that I’ll
include on future additions. Great idea, thank you!
Car show update: Dean continues to work tirelessly on the car show,
meeting with and securing additional sponsorships. Dean will be
scheduling a Car Show subcommittee meeting shortly. Expect more
updates during the monthly meeting.
Several club activities are being planned by Michael and John. We
will be surveying where club members live so activities can be better
planned.
I’ve continued to add activities to the Club calendar here and on the
web site. Take a moment to review everything. Another great
resource is The Latest Scoop – its list of 2012 Ongoing Events in
Colorado keeps growing!
See you in a couple days – remember the Club meetings start at 7:15
p.m. at the Arvada Community Food Bank.
Anne Brinkman
President, Colorado MOPAR
Hi all - here's a quick mid-month update:
BOWLING: to everyone that attended the bowling event last Sunday at Wheat Ridge Lanes. Great fun and good food. I'll post the scores in the next newsletter.
AUTO SHOW: We're hoping to get a crowd to go to the Denver Auto Show held at the Denver Convention Center (downtown) at the end of this month. John will send out an e-mail.
ANNUAL CAR SHOW: Dean continues to work tirelessly on the show - Best Buy just confirmed they will be a sponsor.
DUES: And finally, a quick reminder that the $35 annual dues are needed by end of the month. You can mail your check to: PO Box 9688, Denver, CO 80209
See ya in a couple weeks if not sooner. Anne
Sorry guys - I don't want anyone to risk life, limb or car in coming to this month's meeting.
See you March.
Hi everyone -
The weather in Colorado has finally behaved like winter for the first time in a long time. Snow every couple weeks, the National Western Stock Show had freezing cold temperatures, and the winds are blowing!
The next Club meeting will be held on February 3. Besides a normal club meeting, we’ll be watching a car movie of your choosing. Everyone please a couple candidate car movies and the group will vote. We’ll order some pizza and pop some popcorn and make it an evening.
Car show update: Dean tried to secure a contract with Cruisin’ Dave, the DJ we had last year. Unfortunately he was already committed to another event so Dean found an awesome replacement – DaBoogieman! DaBoogieman is a former DJ in the Denver metro area. He finally retired and is now doing parties and events. His reviews are really great. Here’s his web site: http://www.myfavoriteoldies.com/
Just a reminder that 2012 Club dues are needed as soon as possible.
See you in a couple days – remember the Club meetings start at 7:15 p.m. at the Arvada Community Food Bank.

Happy Fall Colorado Mopar Members!
Not too much to report this month, but looking forward to the Chili
Cook-off for this month’s meeting and seeing everyone!
It’s time to start thinking about elections and if anyone is interested in
running for any of the Officer’s positions, I believe that the elections
will be held in December before our Holiday party like they were last
year!
See you all at the meeting!
Thanks!
Dale Schaefer
President Colorado Mopar
Hi all! Still not much going on but everything is gearing up. The first
Golden cruise is this weekend and the weather is going to be perfect!
Hope to see you all out there. The car show committee is working
hard and is getting a lot done, Good job crew! Last Friday was the
bowling get together/ car show, we all had a lot of fun. Great Job
Deb, John, Anne and Ryan for setting that up.
That's all for now hope to see you all Friday and remember a car is
just
a car unless it's a Mopar then its a way of life.
Thanks!
Dale Schaefer
Colorado Mopar President
Greetings Mopar Members!
Not much news from the President this month, just looking forward to the Spring and some warmer weather so we can get out and get our cars on the road! Know that it will be here before we know it!
Hopefully we can get some fun cruises and fun club activities planned so we can get our cars together and have a good time!
Again I just wanted to give my sincere Thanks to Anne Brinkman for taking time out of her busy schedule to call all of the members and get their feedback on the club. There are a lot of great things we are doing well and some great suggestions and things that we need to work as a club on. Thank you again Anne!
Look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting on Friday!
Thanks!
Dale Schaefer
Mopar President
Happy New Year Colorado Mopar Members!
I hope everyone had a fun and safe Christmas and New Year’s!
Just wanted to say Thank you for nominating me for the Colorado Mopar President in 2011. I am excited for the opportunity and looking forward to a great year!
With the snow on the ground, it’s that time of year to work on the hot rods and get them all ready for car show and cruising season coming up in just a few short months! Hope everyone’s projects are coming along great and are under budget! We are Mopar people though, so I know that the under budget part will be wishful thinking for many of us.
I guess it is never too soon to start thinking about the Colorado Mopar car show, so if you are interested in being on the Car Show Committee please let me or an Officer know so when the real planning gets started we make sure everyone who wants to be involved is included.
See you at the meeting this Friday!
Dale Schaefer
2011 Colorado Mopar President
