Consulting Kitchens & Dining Rooms

Soft and Subtle Kitchen Walls
A small kitchen fares well in a fresh, soft color to showcase the granite and cabinets. 2013-03-04

Dining Room with Depth
To help break up the monochromatic feeling of this dining room the chair rail was put to use to create a lower wall color lighter than the new gray blue upper wall color. The butler pantry is changed to the main hallway color and looses the faux stripe finish. See Copper Bling pic for color flow.2013-01-28

Blah beige
This tired dining room and butler pantry need a boost. The butler pantry has a stripe finish on the upper wall. 2012-09-15

Copper Bling
The new copper color in the kitchen brings the details to life in the back splash that otherwise would just define the stove area; now its details sparkle a little more. 2013-01-28

Modern Lake House
Brewster Gray HC-162 accented the new tile in this lakeside home to give it a modern, open feel.

Modern Lakeside Kitchen
The warm wood is complemented with an urban feel with horizontal wire loft railings and Brewter Gray HC-162. The homeowner warmed up the stove exhuast pipe by tying in the wood tone to the connecting pieces.

Kitchen Open to Family Room
Splendor AF-385 unites the kitchen counter tops and cabinets with the open floor plan to the family room.

Peach of an idea
The homeowner wanted a soft peach color for the kitchen. Ansonia peach HC-52 fit the requirements.

Smoothing out the wood strength
The feature of this kitchen was the wood cone ceiling. The homeowner was drawn to peach colors. We found the perfect fit with Ansonia peach HC-52 to coordinate the cabinet and ceiling, while giving everything equal balance.

Hallway Uses Color Carry Thru
The hallway in this home was painted the main color so it could seamlessly transition into the bathroom and bedrooms' colors. 2013-03-04

This master bathroom was previously a very, very dark mossy green. The homeowners were planning to add an larger window to the space. Now with the new paint color it is light a airy, even if they would have picked different tiles.....no extra window needed now.

A small space wouldn't seem like a big challange-but these cabinets put on a good fight. We found BM Indian White OC-88 calmed the space down while remaining bright enough.

7-2011. Love HC-88, but it doesn't work in everyone's space, so I was quite pleased the rich brown, gold color was perfect for this masterbathroom. The window wall is painted in Bennington Gray HC-82 to help give HC-88 extra accent value.

Accenting Bathroom Walls
7-2011. Carrying the master bedroom colors into the master bath unified the rooms and made the space with lots of tile and hard surfaces much warmer.

White walls (before)

No white wall (after)
inspiration piece: picture above sofa. Fine tuning lead to HC-93 Carrington Beige to add color to the great room/dining room.

Color Tie In
Lenox Tan HC-44 was used on a single wall in the foyer to complement the fireplace also in HC-44. Both are visible when you enter in the front door.

Eye Pleasing Fireplace
Lenox Tan HC-44 added a color change to the great room with HC-93 Carrington Beige. It also provided an eye pleasing transition to the kitchen side of the fireplace that is in a wine/burgandy color.

Painted Brick
Fireplace OC-1 natural wicker~was red brick; walls: HC-74 Valley Forge Brown

Room Connections
Window wall accented in HC-74 Valley Forge Brown to tie in with adjcent LR also in HC-74.

Color transition
HC-79 greenbrier beige and HC-74 valley forge brown

Comfy Living Room
Accents of rust and warm golden brown tones change this plain living room into a comfortable gathering place right off the foyer.

Front Room
Metorpolitan AF-690. Smooth smokey blue/gray. Lovely!

Front room nook
Metropolitan AF-690. Soft but noted background for a reading nook.

Arch detail
The lower section of the column is Woodstock Tan HC-20 and ties in with the family room fire place that you see from the foyer. Upper wall is Splendor AF-385, the main house color.

Tying the Inspiration Piece Together
Colors of the inspiration piece, the foyer rug, tie the rooms of the house together. Splendor, Metropolitan, Woodstock Tan and Antique White.

Inspiration Piece
The foyer rug helped determine the color families we would choose from.

Splendid Two Story Family Room
Splendor AF=385 warms up this tall space and connects the kitchen to the area as well.

Chris's Office Pick
This room was painted when I came over for the color consultation. Duxbury Gray HC-163. Love to spec this color in the right situation now.

Splendor in Family Room
The grand space of the family room is cozied up with Splendor AF-385

Loft to Family Room
Splendor ties the loft, kitchen and foyer together.

Family Room

Coordinate woods
The walls were as white as the ceiling before. Now the angled wood ceilings relate to the space with BM Brookline beige HC-47.

Warming up the Great Room
This room has so much warm wood, a warm, darker beige was needed to balance it.

Open plan with loft
The loft divides the foyer and greatroom, but the walls are like one with no clear cut off. BM Brookline Beige HC-47 fit the entire space.

A way to keep the wood unpainted
By changing the white walls to BM Brookline Beige HC-47, the wood on the angle ceiling and trim work make sense in the room and help add accent to the darker wood around the fireplace.

Family Room with flow
The new wall color makes the built in entertainment center and the fire place tiles unite to give this family room a contemporary, clean line look.

Living room in Use
This living room is a functioning part of the house. To create a flow from it to the Family room, both used the same color BM Cream Soda 1082.

Living room and Foyer connection
Tints and shades: Foyer in King Arthur's Court 1081 and Living room in Cream Soda 1082. The colors are definately personal to this space. Most rooms can pull too much pink. They work perfect in the spaces.

Cylinder wall carries into great room. Wall color melds mirror fireplace surround.

Multi purpose accent wall
Cylinder wall adds interest and an opportunity to accent the great room, foyer, and 2nd floor hallway to Master Bedroom.

Cherry on Top to accent wall
Wall behind cylinder accent completes color to ceiling from 1st floor.

Slate Blue/Gray
7-2011. Duxbury Gray HC-163 was the perfect fit of a 'slate gray' to add color and warmth to a large family room.

Slate Blue/Gray 2
7-2011. Duxbury Gray HC-163 adds a slate blue depth to an open, two story great room. The hallway in bennington gray HC-82 ties hallways into the foyer and garage entry door.

A 'Great' Great Room
Walls: China white. The wall next to the piano was a sage green. Now the accent wall is the loft wall (see pic in this album). Have suggested moving piano to face fireplace on same wall, at angle; angle red sofa, flank fireplace w/ wingback chairs. . .

The main area was a light sage green. It fit the space, but did not go with the client's new furniture. Coastal Path AF-380 fit the area perfectly.

Terri after (4).jpg
While the foyer has defined wall space, the client kept the color the same as the great room.

I suggested keeping the hallway a bit lighter than the main color. HC-26 monroe bisque worked in this space nicely.

No accent wall needed here. The client's style lent to keeping the space moving and open.
