Conant kids to learn lessons with new garden

Conant Elementary and Bloomin Kids School Garden

For phase one of the project, all of the children planted herb seeds. The herbs were grown in a newly-purchased seed cart and each child was able to take a plant home. Phase two, Completed October 9th, consisted of building seven 4’ x 8’ raised beds (one for each grade at Conant, one for Bloomin’ Kids, and one for herbs) plus 2 large teepees for beans and peas, and an irrigation system. Phase three (dependent on fundraising) will include a split rail fence to deter wildlife from the garden, a garden shed for storage, and garden tools necessary for spring planting.
