What the heck is this website about?

This website is dedicated to the guys and gals who make up the Concord Baptist church youth group in Hopkinsville, KY. It is meant to inform, share our lives, and offer a momentary cure from boredom.

Why is being a Christian important anyway?

Being a Christian is important because God is perfect and we aren't. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard." The Bible also teaches that there is a punishment for sin; "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). Thankfully, God loved us so much, He sent His perfect son, Jesus, to take our punishment. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not die, but have eternal life." Jesus took our death and beat it! He rose again! "He died once to defeat sin, and now he lives for the glory of God" (Romans 6:10). If we just accept His free gift, we have no fear of punishment. "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death." All you have to do is believe that God is perfect, you're not, Jesus is God's son, He lived and died for you, He rose again for you, you can not save yourself, but He will gladly do it for you.

When does the CBC youth group get together?

We meet every Sunday morning for Sunday school at 10:00 am. Church starts at 11:00 am. We come back on Sunday nights at 6:00 pm to have church with all of Concord. Wednesday nights, we eat dinner at 5:30 pm and then head to youth worship at 6:30 pm. We also do lots of fun events you'll hear about when you come. Some events are also listed on the event calendar.

Just wanted to post a note to tell all of the Hoptown Middle Choir members what a great job you did last night. Randy and I tried to catch all of you, but we missed a couple. We enjoyed the concert so much! You sounded amazing and danced circles around most pros! Thank you so much for giving Randy and I a fun night out!
