Charles, our 6-7mo old kitten, was adopted on Saturday by clients of ours who had recently lost one of their kitties. 

Katniss & Rue were adopted  yesterday together!!

Haymitch was adopted on Thursday for a young boy:)  Maggie was adopted today by a family who adopted a puppy from us last year!  

Peeta the white kitten was adopted yesterday!!

Sierra was adopted at VMC today:)

I just spoke with Enzo's spring break foster yesterday and she is planning to adopt him this coming Saturday:) This is great news b/c Enzo was rescued from a shelter where he was going to be euthanized and he had already been there for a year in a kennel:( This is one of the sweetest dogs you've ever met and he deserves to have a nice loving home! Yea Enzo!!

Duke was adopted today by a family with another dog:)

Skit was adopted by her foster family this past Friday!  Dottie a new addition to our program was adopted on Adoption day before I was even able to list her on our different sites:)  Dusty was adopted after her new family saw her on petfinder.com...they took her home on Sunday!  Conrad had his sutures removed yesterday and is free of the E-collar, he also received his last set of booster vaccines...I am fostering him and he is an amazing dog!! 

Well we haven't had any adoptions lately but we did place 2 dogs this past weekend.  One was a Newfoundland who was surrendered after we convinced the owner not the euthanize over skin allergies. Her name was Osa and we were able to place her with the Newfoundland rescue group. The other was a Pit Bull that we named Azule and she was found 5 weeks ago running in the intersection of Holcomb Br. and Hwy 9 with a Rottie who we named Guiness.  A police officer brought them to us.  We waited a week and no one claimed them so we got the ready for adoption.  The Rottie is on a home trial with one of our Vets.  I received a message from the owner on Friday that she had seen them on Petfinder.com so after talking with her and realizing that she is unable to handle the Rottie and was looking for a home for him anyways we decided to keep him in  the program and she came and picked up Azule, who's real name is Foxy but not before agreeing to have her microchipped!!  Please get your dogs and cats microchipped if you haven't already:) 

Tigger was adopted the other day at VMC!!! This is amazingly his 3rd time being adopted so let's pray this one sticks:) He has been returned before first b/c the person said she wasn't home enough for him and second b/c the child had an asthma attach b/c of him...so no fault of his own. Tigger is a great kitten and deserves the best home!!

Storm was adopted tonight by a lady who has 2 other cats and is hoping that he will be a playmate for her younger cat:)

Clients of ours came in with their other cat for his yearly and left with two cats:)  They had been looking for a little while and found the perfect match at The Knoll!  So happy for her:)

Blackie was adopted yesterday by a guy who has a female yellow lab!! We are hoping this is his furever home:)

One of our employees had her on trial with their adopted dog and everything went perfectly so she decided to keep Cleo! Yeah!

Tigger was adopted yesterday by clients of VMC:)

Rambo a pit bull from our sister clinic was adopted yesterday!!  Go Rambo:)

Stella was adopted by a friend of her previous owner which is great b/c she already knows him and his dog:)

Cici and Minnie were adopted by a friend of their sponsor!!  We are so excited for them:)

Miles, our 9yr old black lab, was adopted by a sweet family looking specifically for a geriatric pet! How sweet! Wishing him the best!!!!

Flash, Dolly, Boo and Piper were all adopted today by wonderful people:)

Merry Christmas to Oreo! We are so happy that she is now in her furever home:)

Piper, one of our 2 male lab mix pups was adopted today!  Unfortunately, that leaves poor Champ by himself...poor baby!

When they got both dogs home, Angelina bit Bob in the nose so she was returned...so sad!!

Angelina was adopted by a couple who came to see her yesterday with their male dog, Bob. Everyone got along great and she went to her new home today:)  Trelawney was adopted by clients of ours who previously adopted a cat from VMC this year, so we know she is going to a great home!!

Ashby was adopted today by a family who lives in a subdivision across the street! She will have to children, 2 dogs and 1 cat as buddies:) We are so excited that Ashby got a home...pray that all will go well as she acclimates to all her new buddies!

I wonder if her new owner got a deal 'cause it is Black Friday;)

A nice lady who had been keeping up with Zeplin on Petfinder.com for the past 6 months came in today and finally adopted him!  She has 4 other beagles but inspite of this her heart went out to his sweet face and she couldn't let him remain homeless for any longer!  We are so happy for Zeplin and think that it will be great he has so many other dog buddies as he can have some separation anxiety.

We had a family come in looking for one kitten and were able to get them to take our two brothers, Bogey & Eagle:)  They are used to dealing with cats who come from their background and will be patient with them as they acclimate into their new home.  

Stella was returned to our program b/c her owner was moving and could not keep her.  Well her owner must have figured something out b/c she is coming to take her back today!

Tinker and JR were adopted today! And Willy was adopted by his foster:)  Great day at the Knoll!

Squiggy was adopted yesterday! Due to his rough start in life we will keep him for a few more days but then he will go to his new home next week:)

Freddy was adopted yesterday by clients of ours who dropped off their dog for boarding:)

Roxy was adopted by our groomer:)

Sampson was adopted @ Veterinary Medical Center yesterday!!

Candy Corn was adopted by a family who has been with us for many years:)  So happy for her!

Piper was adopted yesterday by great clients of ours:)

Lucky Day was adopted by a nice lady who saw her on Petfinder.com...she will reside in Suwannee GA:)

While at the Child Safety adoption day at Home Depot, Oreo met her new foster Mom who works there!  She fell in love with her immediately and had her hubby come up to meet her.  They then took a night to discuss fostering vs adopting and decided to foster her for a little while with the option of adopting in the future:)  We are very happy for Oreo to be in a warm cozy home!

Chloe was adopted by a nice family that wanted a dog for their son to cuddle and play with...she will be perfect for this!  Boscoe was adopted by a lady who loves a cat with character and personality...he will be perfect for her:)

Ivy was adopted today!!!

Chestnut, Kudzu and Courderoy were all adopted on Sunday!

Hansel and Gretel were adopted together! From the news I was given, they will be having the life roaming a mansion! We are so excited for them!

His foster, Katie, gave me the word today to take him off the sites b/c he is hers now!  This is great news as Pepper has alot of special needs and Katie is sure to take care of him:)

Scarlett was adopted by a nice couple that was trying to decide between her and a kitten...thankfully they decided on Scarlett!!  We were very happy to find a home for one of our adult cats:)

Benny was adopted today...now someone just needs to come and get sweet Joon who will be so lonely...

Birdie, one of our golf course kittens, was adopted today by someone who has adopted from us in the past!  She will be a new buddy to a nice young male cat:)  

Ned and Ollie were seen on petfinder.com and adopted today.  Toby was adopted by friends of his foster parents!

Molly was adopted today by one of our employees...she is so happy in her new home with her new dog buddy:)

Perry one of our Lab puppies was adopted today!

We currently have Chloe, Pepper, Toby, Willy and Noah being fostered.  Frenchy was out with a foster for a few months and has just recently come back to us.  She is a good cat in a home but gets a little touchy when cooped up in a cage.  

Blaze was adopted today by one of our employees! 

Kate and Diana, the last of our Royal Litter have been adopted together and we couldn't be happier!

Snickers was adopted  by a nice elderly lady today!!

We have some new fun stuff to sell with proceeds going to this program, thanks to our own Kristen Smith!  We have t-shirts, Peace/Love/Rescue magnets, and reusable shopping bags. Great stuff for minimal$$  but every little bit helps...come by and check out our new stuff!

Parsley was seen on petfinder.com and adopted today! She is going to a home with another young cat that she can play with:)

These two kittens are litter mates and were adopted together which is awesome because they adore each other:)

2 kittens named Jack and Chrissy were adopted at VMC this morning!  We've had a total of 4 adoptions so far for petfinders big adoption weekend:)

Roxie was seen on petfinder.com and adopted tonight!  She is such a nice cat:)

Pixie was adopted today by a lady for her sister and she was seen on Petfinder.com!!  Petfinder is trying to get 15,000 pets adopted nationwide for their birthday Friday-Sunday.  We have officially contributed one adoption to that #!  Hopefully, a few more before the weekend is done:)

Basil was adopted today by a friend of one of our clients!  We are having a great adoption week so far:)

Prince William was adopted by a family that helped rescue him and his siblings when they were only a week old.  They waited 7 weeks for him to be ready for adoption and came and got him as soon as he was:)

Wilma was adopted by one of our employees!  She is such a sweet little kitten:)

We had a great day today! Knowing that this is our first adoption day at VMC, we have met some wonderful people in the surrounding community and can't wait to keep this program going! Despite the scorching sun, our strays gave it their all and we couldn't have been prouder of them! Big thanks goes out to the staff at Veterinary Medical Center for helping us out throughout the day! Many thanks to our faithful sponsors and volunteers that came out today. In fact, a couple of our volunteers went back to Crabapple Knoll to adopt Regina and Spice. Aren't we so lucky to have them? Have a wonderful weekend!

So far our sponsors have brought in 9 bags of kitty litter and toys for the kittens!!  I am always amazed by the support I receive from all of you:)

We had 4 kittens adopted yesterday...2 families adopted 2 kittens each:)  Pocahontas and Ariel went together and Rafiki and Biscuit went together!  

Solo was adopted for a trial period with one of our college kids who is home working for the summer.  She hopes to take him back to college with her as a companion in her new apartment!

Pippin was adopted by one of our Veterinarians Mother in Law and is on trial.  Peter Pan was adopted as well by another family!!  

She is calling him Russell now and he is doing great at her house:)

Two of the spice kittens were adopted today!  Their new family is from Cumming and found them on Petfinder.com:)

Natalie was adopted on Wednesday...only poor little Regina left!  

Sugar was adopted today by a friend of a friend:)  Stanley from VMC, a little chihuahua mix was adopted today by longtime clients of ours!!  I was a hot one but with all the swimming pools available the pups handled the heat very well:)  A big thanks goes out to our FABULOUS sponsors and friends who pitched in and helped today...we could not have done it without you!  

Our very on Cyndi Lou has decided to adopt sweet Shay after fostering her for  a couple months...Shay is a very lucky dog and we wish them many fabulous years together!

Bella was officially adopted by Dr Gaston's son and renamed Gina:)  Dr Gaston's son just graduated vet school and we are very happy that Bella(Gina) will now be owned by a vet so she will receive all the medical care she needs:)

Angel was brought to petsmart adoption day by her sponsor and was adopted by a nice family who lost their dog a couple years ago...they were finally ready for a new dog and fell in love with Angel immediately:)  

Sparkles was seen on petfinder.com and adopted today by a nice family looking for a declawed cat:)

That's gotta be a record!!  We had 5 kittens adopted in one day.  We will have 4 more kittens available in 3-4 weeks to keep watching.  Also keep and eye on Veterinary Medical Center's page as they have had some kittens for adoption lately too:)

Milo was adopted to a nice family specifically looking for a black lab mix:)  We are so excited for him and wish him well!

Smokey turned 7.5 weeks old yesterday and we decided he was ready for adoption.  He was checked out by Dr Kaufman and his leukemia and FIV test was negative.  We had one person on his waiting list and when called they came up that same day to see him.  They'd been keeping up with his progress on this site regularly.  They were especially interested in him because he reminded them of a previous cat who passed away very young after being attacked by a coyote on their own patio in broad daylight.  Their cats are now solely indoors and I feel they've been given a second opportunity to own another amazing "Smokey" cat:)  We are so happy that they will continue to bring him to us for his veterinary care while he is a kitten...we hope to have more pictures and updates to share with you along the way...

Jack has been officially adopted by one of our staff members and he is now calling him Captain Jack:)  He is getting along well with the other pets in the household and his new owners love him very much!

Freddy was adopted by a lady who had lost her other cat not too long ago and Freddy was the spittin' image of him:)  She immediately fell in love with him and has no dogs which we feel will be better for Freddy. 

Roma was adopted this evening by neighbors of the lady who found her!

When the adoptive owner went home to tell her hubby about the new puppy he decided that Roma was going to be too big of a dog for them so they never took her home.  She is a great puppy...already doing very well with potty training.

Roma was adopted today!

Mr Beasley was adopted by a nice older couple who were specifically looking for a small dog.  She is a triathlete and plans to take Mr Beasley running with her.  They have already decided to change his name to Willy:)  Rudy also went home with one of our staff members who has a barn and he will get to spend the rest of his days roaming around there!  We were very happy to have the Milton Band group out today to put on such an amazing event...pictures to come soon...

Angie was returned for fighting with the female boxer that lived at her new home.  I will continue to stress that Angie not go to a home with another female dog.  Pit Bulls are known for same sex aggression.  She is still our sweetie pie and we feel sure we will eventually find her the right home.

Chico was picked up from boarding today to go to his new home:)  We will miss him but are so happy that he is going to such a great home!!

:(  Minnie was returned Sunday morning...the new owner introduced her to the dogs on the very first night which we did not recommend.  She was probably very scared as it may have been her first encounter with dogs in a house and she went after them.  Animals will show their fear by being aggressive as a defensive mechanism.  We always recommend allowing your new cat to get to know it's new surroundings apart from the other animals in the house for at least one week and then slowly letting them see the other animals over the following week. 

Minnie was adopted by a nice lady who also owns a dog...hopefully they will get along fine!  Pepper is recovering nicely after having what looked like the bottom of a bottie removed from his intestines!!  Libby had fun hanging out with her new sponsors from the Daisy troop today:)

Our sweet Papa Pepper had to have surgery today to remove a foreign object from his intestinal tract. The vets believe he has had this partial obstruction since before we got him.  This is most likely the cause of all his Gastrointestinal issues.  We hope that he heals well and will be back to normal soon...

Chico was finally adopted by some good clients of ours...he will make a great pet!  Also, we obtained a female calico cat this past weekend who was saved from antifreeze poisoning and called her Lil Miss Muffet.  I haven't even had a chance to list her and one of our great clients has already adopted her!!  She will be spayed on Monday and go to her new home Tuesday:) Her new name is Lily!

Minnie was having issues with her tail since the last Adoption Day.  She aggressively chases it and attacks it. Due to this we decided to remove it.  Her surgery was done last Friday and so far she seems like a completely different cat:)  She is happy and playful and doesn't try to attack herself anymore.  She now has the cutest little bob-tail:)

When Dr Gaston rechecked Shay today, he realized that her surgery did not take so he redid the CCL repair.  We are hopeful that this will do it for her.  She has been an amazing patient and so good:)  Unfortunately, this may mean that she cannot be in the Walk 4 Paws:(

Bear was officially adopted yesterday and went to his new home!  So far all is going well except he is trying to figure out what a cat is:)  Hopefully he will realize they are just other pets in the household and not a chew toy!! 

A nice gentleman and his family saw Bear on Petfinder.com and has been looking specifically for a male German Shepherd to be a buddy for their female German Shepherd.  He came by to look at Bear Monday evening and likes him a lot.  His wife will be by this weekend to meet Bear and seal the deal:)  We feel pretty sure Bear will work his magic and go home with his new family!

Tiny a puppy we received on Sunday was adopted Thursday, neutered Friday and will go to his new home on Sunday!! 

Rave was adopted at VMC today by friends of one of their veterinarians:)

Frodo was adopted today by clients of ours:)

Samwise was adopted today and there is only one puppy left of the litter of 4.

We had an amazing day!!  2 kittens, 2 puppies,  and Angelina and Tippy were all adopted today:)  We also had a successful raffle raising $110 for our program!  A big thanks to Cyndi, Shamy, Beth and all my sponsors who worked so hard to make this day a success...it could not have been done without you.

Athena was adopted by our very own staff member, Kristen!!  We are so excited for her and them:)

Both Cotton and January were adopted this week just after getting their spay and neuter procedures done.  Cotton was adopted by one of our sponsors and her family:)  January was adopted by a family with kids!!

Bo was adopted by a nice young lady on Sunday and will be moving to Ocala, FL!!  We will miss him but are happy that he will be living it up in sunny Florida:)

Julie's leg is finally healed enough for her to go to her new home and her new owners picked her up this past Sunday!!  We are so excited for her as it has been a long road.  A big thanks to Dr Marrinson for all her dedication to not only healing Julie but helping her to find her new forever home:)

Percy was adopted by the same lady who adopted his sister Sprout...this was great news!! And Digit has been adopted by a very nice young couple looking for a play mate for their 3 year old cat, Soshi.  We are so happy for all these little kittens who've been rescued off the streets:)

Sasha was adopted Friday by a client of ours!! 

Sprout was adopted yesterday by a very good client of ours!!  We are so happy for her...only Percy is left from this litter.

We are receiving another litter of kittens that were living near an office building.  They are a little scared but are not aggressive.  They should be available for adoption soon.  Meanwhile, Sprout and Percy are still waiting to go to their forever homes!!

Sandy was adopted today by a nice family with a 10yr old daughter.  They just recently lost their other dogs last year and are ready for a new one:) 

Tonks was adopted by a nice family with kids...they spent alot of time yesterday looking at all our cats and kittens and came back today and adopted him.  Suni was seen on petfinder.com by an older couple in Toccoa who drove 2 hours to adopt her...they had recently lost their 10yr old Dobi to cancer and wanted to rescue another Dobi...we are blessed to have great sponsors like Cricket who took the time to help them understand Suni's needs! 

Libby was returned b/c she didn't get along with their other dog and Albus was adopted today!!

Trelawney was adopted by clients who have adopted from us before...she will be sisters with Kate Spade!!  This is great news b/c  she came from our semi-feral litter:)

We were just saying that we have almost had "snookie" for a year. Snookie, who was known to you as paul ( peter, paul, and mary - black and white kitten family) is doing great and everyone loves him, even our 2 dogs. Just wanted to let you know what a great addition to the family he was.

Onyx was adopted by a nice family who were specifically looking for an elderly cat to give a nice home to.  They found him on petfinder.com!  Libby has an adoption pending through the Second Chance organization.  We are so appreciative of Jolynn for taking some of our dogs almost every week to the PetSmart adoption day:)  We know that Libby will make her new family a great dog friend.

Poor Mr Beasley was returned this week...he is having difficulty with house training.  He urinates and defecates in the house and chews on things.  I will be looking for a foster home where someone can really work with him to get him past these issues so he will be adoptable.  If you know of anyone, please contact me: chief1055@yahoo.com.  Thanks!

Jelly Bean went home with clients of ours to be fostered over the New Years Holiday weekend and they have decided to officially adopt her!  They have renamed her Holly:)  We are very happy for JB who very narrowly escaped euthanasia a few weeks ago!

Snickers was adopted by one of our staff members and she will be buddies with Petunia.  Fletcher was adopted by a nice young man looking for a companion to go hiking with:)

Gypsy our 8 mo old border collie/lab mix was adopted by a nice young couple who seemed ready and willing to help her with her house training:)  Julie was adopted by Dr Marrinson's Aunt and will go to her new home when her leg is completely healed:)  Lastly, Demi was adopted to a good client who needed a good barn cat which is great for Demi because she hates to be held and confined.  She will rule the roost at her new barn!

Zeplin is a dog who came from an outdoor environment and is still learning how to be an indoor dog.  When he got to his new home he got so nervous he had and accident and vomited in the new house.  Sadly, his new owners were not ready to deal with this even though we informed them of his need for time and patience for his adjustment.  We are very fortunate that Annie, on of our Technicians on staff, has been more than willing to start his house training by fostering him.  He has made great strides with her and we feel he will continue on his road to being a great indoor dog companion:)

Daniel, the weimaraner and Suni, the doberman were adopted by the same family.  Then Zeplin, the beagle, was adopted by a lady and her son.  Then Lola, the Bassador and Trish, the Heinz 57 dog were adopted by great clients of ours...Trish is will be on trial basis but we think all the dogs should do great together:)  Lastly...just before closing a man and his wife adopted Angelina, the beautiful Pit Bull!!  What an amazing day!!  Thanks to ALL my sponsors, Annie and Kevin, all the staff at the Knoll and my hubby  for being such a great help:)  I could not have done it with out you all!!

Milton was adopted Sunday by a family who came to look at Hope...I had her at home and was unable to bring her back that day so Michelle talked them into giving Milton a shot since he is so wonderful with kids:)  Scout was returned on Saturday due to her high energy level but was adopted again today by a young couple who have lots of property and a fenced portion.  They also have other dogs for Scout to play with:)  She will be picked up on Friday.  Hope was adopted today by the Lady who adopted her sister Nell.  She will pick her up on Sunday...meantime I will continue to foster her as she is doing very well at my house:)  Great news...I look forward to seeing everyone at Adoption Day this Saturday!

Fred was adopted today while with his foster home.  Their son decided to adopt him while he was home for the holiday!  Yea for Fred...now we just need to get Hope adopted and this whole litter will have great homes:)

Our sweet Amazon passed away over Thanksgiving after suffering from a bloat.  This is common in deep chested dogs like Labrador Retrievers and can happen at any time.  We feel she was fortunate to be with her foster family who were able to get her to an emergency clinic and have her humanely euthanized.  If she was in the kennel when it happened she would have suffered approximately 4 hours before passing on.  Our hearts go out to her foster family as this is such a tragedy to go through during the holidays.  We are very thankful for all our fosters and sponsors who devote their time and energy to making the lives of these pets a little more worthwhile.  Please always remember Amazon and the joy she brought to everyone she met:)

Maddie will be adopted on Sunday and was found through our sponsorship program!  Maddie will be going to a wonderful home with lots of land to run on and another dog buddy:)  We are so excited for her...she is such a sweetie!!

Elphie was adopted yesterday and Oliver was adopted today:)  More kittens to be available soon...

Tabitha was adopted today by a very nice family that are clients of ours.  They already have a cat and a dog that she will be companions with.

Scout was adopted by a nice lady from Smyrna who saw her on petfinder.com.  Blackie was adopted by one of my bowling buddies who saw him on Facebook.  Blackie is definitely on trial as this is her first dog in a long time and she has many cats.  Hopefully, Blackie will be respectful of the cats and he will get to be his new owner's running buddy:) 

George, one of our pitbull/chihuahua mixed puppies was adopted by a Milton fireman today!  He found George on Petfinder.com:)

We have a litter of 4 kittens that just became available for adoption yesterday and 2 of them: Sabrina and Oscar were adopted right away by the same family:)

They are very young and will be available for adoption soon...

Dash was adopted yesterday and he never even made it to the front lobby!!

Kate Spade was adopted today and will go to her new home on Monday.  Dash had some interest today and may be adopted soon as well!!

A nice couple came in today to adopt September:)  They were specifically looking for a young sweet cat and she was definitely a match:)

Taz went to PetSmart with Jolynn and was seen by his new family there.  They then came back to the clinic to see about adopting him.  They really wanted a 5 year old dog to be around long enough to see the kids off to college.  The picture of him with his new family will be up soon:)

Samson was adopted yesterday evening.  That was quick...we just got him on Tuesday!!

Petunia has been officially adopted by one of our receptionists!!  She loves to follow them around and is totally enjoying being in her forever home:)

Eva was adopted by a nice lady who owns one other male cat named Bailey.  As long as those 2 get along she will be in her forever home:)

Martie has been tentatively adopted for an elderly lady and Frannie was adopted today by a gentleman with 2 young boys.  They are so excited as this is their first pet:)  She will stay with us another week until her spay incision is healed and they plan to pick her up this coming Saturday.  Yea for Frannie!!

Russell and Noble were adopted together today!  Dot was adopted by one of our employees:)

Marti was returned because she was too afraid of the dog in the home:( She did great with the kids however. 

Petunia is at a home trial with one of our new receptionists, Michele.  Hopefully she will pass with flying colors!!

September and Parker were adopted by the same family tonight!!  Only 3 more kittens left:)

Two more adoptions today! Luna, our lone kitty, and Claire, our sweet, sweet dog have both been adopted by two different families! Claire was seen on THIS Shutterfly site and the family spent lots of time getting to know her earlier today. We wish them well in their new forever homes!

Hooray! Pippin, the last of the cutest border collie puppies we had was adopted earlier today from a young couple all the way in Warner Robbins!!!! They saw him on Petfinder! He will be leaving to go to his new home on Saturday and his new name will be Pippin Porter! So exciting!

Today, Gala was adopted leaving 3 other kittens named Fuji, Rome, and McIntosh. Poor Luna is by herself so we have introduced her to this litter and they are getting along very nicely as they await their new home!

Our Border Collie Mix puppy has a new home with a 4 yr old boy, his family, and 18 acres of land to rome on! What a lucky pup! It'll be in no time, her brother, Pippin will find a home too!

Stella was seen on petfinder and was adopted today...then Neville was adopted this evening!  Great day for adoptions:)  My anniversary present!

Tollee was adopted today!  Buddy's owner came to claim him last night!!  We have 3 new puppies...Stella, Maya and Pippin.  Stella is listed under current pets for adoption...I still need to get pics of Maya and Pippin.

Dot was brought back due to no fault of her own. The cats in the house got really upset about their new visitor and sprayed and fought with each other:(  Dot is a great dog and gets along well with other animals!

We had great clients of ours come in and adopt Gucci and Coco, 2 Tortoise Shell kittens to be playmates for their male kitten. We also had Jolynn with Second Chance Rescue group pick up 5 of our dogs for a Petsmart adoption day!!  Dot was adopted by a nice woman there:)  We are excited about working with Jolynn to take a few dogs on Saturdays to the Petsmart adoptions...this will be a great new outlet for us.

Mariah was seen on petfinder and adopted last night by a mother son duo who had just lost their geriatric cat.  Ziva was adopted today by some people that saw her yesterday!!  Ziva's picture has not been posted yet which is unfortunate b/c she is a gorgeous cat!

Great news...August was adopted today:)  We have plenty more kittens...some haven't even been added to the site yet.  I am working hard on that..camera battery died today:(  Hopefully will get them all up by 2morrow nite!!

Sandy passed the trial and has been officially adopted by one of our Vets.  Her son has changed his name to "Kitty Cat."  :)  He is great with her kids and very laid back and sweet at home.  He is still trying to get used to their dog but that should happen fairly quickly!

Eloise was adopted Sunday by a nice young lady...she instantly fell in love with her:)

Taz's Knott's test for heartworms was negative yesterday!!  He only has 2 more weeks of exercise restriction, then he can go back to normal activity!!  What a great dog:)

Dot was spayed today and had one tiny dewclaw removed from her rear left leg...she's doing great!!

Lil Miss was the mother of Buford, China, India, Princeton and Spain.  She found her forever home today with the nice family who also adopted Smokey:)

We have 2 4 week old black kittens that we are working on weaning and we have a new litter of 4 that are about 5-6 weeks old.  They should be ready soon...

Smokey, Fanny, and Doc were all adopted yesterday!!  Doc was adopted by the nurse of his previous owner which is amazing:)  He was such a sweet dog but very nervous about being in the kennel so I am glad he did not have to stay for long! 

This is great news and means she is now available for adoption:)

Shrimp was adopted today...he was the last of the Gumbo, Shrimp and Grits trio!!  We have a cute little tabby named Smokey that I will get on this site tomorrow:)  And Petunia is still looking for her forever home...

Gumbo had only been with us 2 days and got adopted!!  Penelope has been there less than a week and was adopted by long time clients...this is their first cat in a while and we are hoping no one will be allergic...keep your fingers crossed:) 

Jack and Forrest were adopted today by a mother/daughter combo who live in separate homes...they came thinking they would take Forrest and Petunia but decided on Jack instead.  These will be great loving cats and I am sure they will adore them:)

Clementine was officially adopted by our own, Randee Rae!!  Her family adores her and this seems to be a match made in heaven:)  We are so thankful to her family for giving Clem a great home in her elderly years...

Suzuki was adopted yesterday, Abigail and Princeton were adopted today...that's 3 kittens.  Then we had a new dog come into our program today...some sort of beagle mix and he has already been adopted!!  Great news:)

Taz got loose while visiting with a potential adopter outside our clinic.  He is somewhere in the Crabapple area...maybe heading toward Bethany road which is where he is from.  Please contact us if you see him...

Dolly was adopted yesterday...Buford was adopted this morning by a very nice Father/daughter family...Pearl, who didn't even make it 24 hours on site was adopted by a staff members friend...and lastly Spain was adopted by a friend of mine who saw him online!!  Great adoptions:) 

Clem will be going for an in home trial this weekend with our very own staff member, Randee Rae!!  We are so excited as Randee has no pets thus far and we feel like this would be a perfect situation for her and Clem:)  Wish them well!!

Although we had no adoptions on our big day we are very thankful for such wonderful weather and for the opportunity to give the dogs and cats a big day all about them!!  They all got many treats and walks by our wonderful sponsors and volunteers.  The kittens got played with quite  a bit in our cat exercise room and this really helps with their socialization.  So a big thanks to everyone who came and helped and for those who dropped by to show support:)  We couldn't do it and it wouldn't be any fun without you!!

Finally our sweet Siamese resident was adopted by a nice lady for her Mom who loves Siamese cats:)  Sam has to stay with us until next Friday but then she is off to one of the Carolinas to live with her new owner...

Cookie was adopted yesterday by the nicest elderly couple:)  We are so excited for him...he will be an only child and be spoiled rotten!!  They are also clients of ours so we will be seeing Cookie in the future...

Max was adopted by the nicest couple who just lost their 1.5yr old dog who they've only had for 6months to multiple increasing Grand Mal seizures...how sad; but we are so happy that Max will be able to help heal the hurt from such a tragedy! They found him on Petfinder.com:)

One of our sponsors, Cricket, has taken Ginger home to work with her potty training  and in house behavioral training!!  She will be with her until next Tuesday:)

Due to the long time she has been in a kennel she will require an owner who has a lot of time and patience to train her. She had issues with potty training and jumping on counters.  Otherwise, she was the best dog!!  Great with kids and other dogs, very happy:)

I took Sweetapple to Cricket's house today and he had a blast chasing tennis balls in the pool:)  He is such a great fun-loving dog...4 weeks post op and things are looking pretty good.  He is in the process of building up strength in his leg and the swim therapy will help tremendously!  Pictures to come soon...

Max was neutered on Tuesday and all went well!  He will be ready for exercise Sat May 15th:)

Our dear Franklin went to heaven yesterday...he just continued to get worse, not aware of his surroundings, major bouts of blow out diarrhea even on medications...we decided to put him out of his misery and let him go to the rainbow bridge.  Sometimes you can't make them better even with the best medicine available but we can help them move on to a happier place...he will be missed.

We are so excited to tell everyone that Ginger finally was adopted and to the best family...they have at least 4 kids and a male border collie rescue that she will get to play with:)  One of her sponsors, Cricket, was able to talk to the new family in great detail about Ginger and her wonderful, energetic, playful disposition.  They are very excited to have such a friendly dog like Ginger and we hope it works out well for them:)

Achilles was adopted by a family who just recently adopted one of our cats Noel!!  They thought they were just coming by to help with the adoption day but lo and behold the fell in love:)  Trinity, his new 11 year old owner, wants to call him Chewbacca after the character on Star Wars and will call him Chewy for short:) 

This is great news!!  And thankfully the rain held off all day:)  There are still plenty more that need great homes...so forward this to all you friends, family, coworkers!!

All the kittens were adopted this past weekend!!  Their mother, Samantha, is being picked up by her new owner this Saturday:)  We have a few new strays that I will post to the site soon.  On a sad note, Bob's new home didn't work out so he is back to try again...

Samantha's kittens are only 6.5 weeks old and we already have 4 adopted...don't wait, we think the other 2 will be adopted soon:)

Wow...that was amazing!!  It rained all day long except for 8:30-10:30, just enough time for us to have this event:)  I am so thankful for all my dedicated sponsors, my sister, my husband and Shamy for getting out there with their sponsor dogs during some crazy weather.  It very much seemed like we would have to cancel but alas we were able to gather together for a great cause...finding a cure for cancer!!  Lizbeth with Pooch Porch Cafe did a wonderful job getting things together for the 1st annual walk 4 paws and I look forward to many more in the future.  I hope that Crabapple Knoll Veterinary Clinic will always be able to sponsor this event:)

Sweetapple's recovery is going great!  He's already weight bearing on that leg and can't wait to get back to semi-normal routine.  He was very happy to be visited by one of his sponsors yesterday:)

Sweetapple had his surgery today to correct the torn CCL on his left knee.  We are hoping for a smooth recovery and I plan on looking into swim therapy for him as his recovery allows.  He's a great dog!! 

Samantha was adopted today, however she will remain with us until her kittens are weaned:)

Just a little something that someone awesome sent me that gives you a little different perspective:

"I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.
As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.

A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.

Amazon came back due to aggressive behavior towards the other dog in the home who is a female Vizsla.  This is not the first time she has shown aggression to another female dog. The new owner was aware of this and chose to give it a shot...we commend her for that.  However, we will not adopt out Amazon to a family with female dogs and will suggest that she be placed in an only dog situation.  She is sweet and a great dog otherwise:) 

Yellow was adopted today!!!

The nicest lady came in and adopted Baby Bear on Saturday:)  He will be joining a home with one cat so I am sure he will be spoiled rotten...we are so excited for Baby Bear!!!

Achilles sponsor, Linda, was able to take him to adoption day at Petsmart in  Kennesaw through a friend who does pit bull rescue.  We now believe he may actually have some boxer in him as well. He had a few interested and some card were handed out...I don't think it will be much longer before we find him his forever home!!

Rocco and Feebie were adopted yesterday!!  Roxy was adopted today:)  Very exciting!!!

We had a wonderful day with the pets...unfortunately it was too cold to have the dogs outside in crates.  We still seemed to have a good bit of traffic come through looking at the pets but no one has been adopted yet.  We are hopeful that some of the people will return today after sleeping on it and adopt.  I will keep you update:)

On a positive note we had a great turn out by out sponsors!!  That was very exciting for me to see the sponsors really take ownership and walk their sponsor pets around to show how much improvement they've made:)

We just found out that our newest addition, Sinatra, had cancer on his leg...that's where the infected wound came from.  So far it is healing well, but this type of cancer usually returns.  One of our doctors is considering sponsoring him when he is healed.

I've taken Roscoe home for the week since I am on vacation and I must say he is a great little dog!!  He fit into my house of 2 dogs, 3 cats very smoothly.  He is very well potty trained and loves to cuddle!  Makes you wonder how he ended up abandoned at 9 years old...

Whiskey was adopted by a very nice family!!  We received 3 new kittens today: 1 black female, 1 black male and 1 gray male all about 3-4 months old...very sweet:)  Pictures to come soon...

Blitzen and Dasher were spayed yesterday and we hope to spay Prancer and Dancer today!!  Looking forward to adoption day!!

Yea!  Titan was adopted by a family who already has a Maine Coon that lost his litter mate this year...hopefully both cats will get along well and this will be a good match:)

Blitzen, Dasher, Dancer and Prancer are all female and about 18 weeks old. They are negative for FIV/FELV which is great!  Their vaccine/deworm protocol has been started and they are scheduled to be spayed this week.  You can check them out this Saturday at Adoption Day:)

Carl was adopted on Sunday!!  His new name is Bama...he will be going to his new home later this month:)  We are so excited for Carl...

These 2 kittens were the last of the gray litter to be adopted!!  They were adopted to the same family who saw them while dropping off their other cat for boarding for thanksgiving.  When they came to pick up their cat they decided to take these two as well:)  Yea!!!  Great story...make one of your own and come by to see who you can take home...

We had beautiful weather for our Fall Festival!!  A big thanks to Shamy and family and Chris for taking time on their day off to help with the festival.  Also a big thanks to our kennel staff for all their hard work in set up and clean up!!  We had an amazing day:)  3 dogs were adopted...Smores, Sheena and Cholo.  We have others coming back today to look again...so hopefully more will be adopted today.  We also had at least 3 kittens adopted...Goblet and Cauldron were adopted together!! And one of our new litter that I haven't been able to post yet.  The day was successful and we hope to get all these guys adopted out soon...thanks for eveyone's help and support:)

Not too much good news here...sadly no pets were adopted yesterday on Adoption Day.  The only good news is one of my friends was looking for a tuxedo kitten because they had just recently lost one of their cats a couple weeks ago.  They found Abracadabra at VMC on Friday night and fell in love immediately:)  This will be a good match:)  Thanks for checking the site and keep telling all your friends about us!!

Sierra was a blood donor this past week for a very sick elderly cat!  She saved her life:)  Thank you Sierra!

We are very thankful to the Dogs on Death Row Rescue Group who helps us place some of our pets for adoption.  They came this past weekend and picked up the last 2 pups from the litter of 4 and will place them in homes.  Go to the links on this page to find out more about their group and what they do:)

Yea!!  Sally and Romy were both adopted today by the same family!  Now poor Harry is all by himself...so someone needs to come up and adopt him.  He is so cute, all black, very sweet:) 

Good news is we had another kitten adoption yesterday...Michelle was adopted!!  The sad news is that Cholo was brought back due to illness in the new owner's family and they are unable to acclimate a new dog at the current time...there was not a dry eye in the clinic:(  Poor Cholo, he is such a good dog and has been brought back 2 times due to no fault of his own...

Yea!!  Gypsy got adopted today with all those cute kittens sitting around her:)  She is the most beautiful long haired tabby with the sweetest disposition...we will miss her!

Hi Everyone!  We had a magnificent Adoption Day today:)  Cyndi, Chris, Megan and myself were the main people working the show.  We had lots of fabulous people drop by to check out our sweeties and a total of 6 adoptions.  We started off the day by adopting one of Dora's kittens, Mimi, to some good clients of ours.  Then we adopted out Gomez, one of the brindle pups. to a nice young lady.  Then there was Cholo who got adopted by some good clients of ours who were dropping off their other dog Pepper for boarding.  Coincidently, Pepper and Cholo look very much alike and they felt Pepper needed a buddy:)  Then we adopted out Carl to a couple of guys that he took to very well.  Then there was Terrapin who went to a very nice young lady and her daughter and they already changed his name to Bucky because he gets so excited he bucks around like a horse!!  Lastly we adopted out Dora's last kitten, Dash, to a very nice family that just moved here a month ago.  All very exicting!!  We still have 4 dogs, 4 cats, 2 puppies and 9 kittens for adoption....so please keep checking out this site and share it with anyone who is looking.  Thanks!!!

8-10 year old female dachshund found tied up in a park. She had awful dental disease and had a few mammary tumors that were positive for cancer. We are still in the process of treating her and are unsure of her overall prognosis at this point. She is heartworm negative. For more info if interested please call. Hi! Thank you for placing this posting of Timba for me. Timba is approx 6 yeras old male cat that has been neutered and declawed. He is very active and has a wonderful and curious personality. II found him in my backyard 3 years ago. Due to my work schedule I haven't been able to spend the time I'd like to with him. All of his vaccinations are up to date. His most recent visit to the vet he got his 3 year rabies injection. The vet recommended that he get his teeth cleaned in the near future. Here are some pictures of Timba. Here are some cute pictures of Toby at our home. It might help to have him in a "home setting" for those looking to adopt. He is so lovable and just wants to cuddle and be near us. He is a real lap cat now. He is slowly getting used to life outside the cage. We took him for a day and he did pretty well. He loved using a big litter box with lots of litter...(we gave him his own box). Yesterday we took him out and he spent the night. He had gotten used to the family room but when it was night time the bedroom was a little scary so he slept under the bed but did well there. To him large spaces are frightening and it will take time, patience and love but he is so lovable. I hope we can get him adopted out soon and his eye heals also. Ed and I will keep working with him. It is a true labor of love and we feel a privilege to help him get ready to be with a loving family. We will continue to keep you updated on Toby. Beth and Ed

Second Chance Rescue group comes almost every Saturday to take 4-5 of our dogs to PetSmart Adoption Day. We are so appreciative of their help!! 1.5 year old spayed female keeshond mix. Was found in Roswell with a choke chain on. No one has claimed her. She is heartworm and fecal negative. Beautiful coat! She has been adopted a 2 times and returned at no fault of  her own.  The first was due to a pond in the fenced yard that was giving her diarrhea plus the owner has back injuries that keep her from training a strong dog. The second was due to high energy levels and not having a fenced yard.  Based on this we feel Scout needs an active home with possibly another dog and a fenced area for her run in.

We spayed her and treated her skin. She is healthy! 7/14/11: Molly was returned this week after being in her new home for 10 months because her owner's had twins and they did not feel like she fit into their home any more:( Very sad as she is such a sweet dog.

1 year old male neutered orange tabby was rescued from a semi feral environment.  Mr Toby has come a long way in his recovery and is sooo sweet and affectionate now.  He loves his ducky stuffed animal.  We are treatig his eye for a blocked tear duct issue. We originally thought he might have feline Herpes virus but do not believe so anymore.  He may need continued off/on treatment for his eye but other than that he is very healthy!

Noah was abandoned and although he already had a mchip it only led us to a rescue group who was unable to give us any owner information.  He is neutered and approx 6yrs old. He is recovering from a skin condition that he got from a bad flea infestation and he has lost most of his teeth due to severe dental disease...he will most likely need to eat canned food or dry food that's been softened.  He is only 10lbs and would be great for someone looking for a small dog companion!

In the meantime they attempted everything possible to find an owner but to no avail and she had no identification. Maggie is much better now and ready to go to a new home! She is a dog who needs to be on a leash when out with people. She is good with kids and other dogs.

I gave her the food that yall sent home with me. I have her a mix late this morning of the food yall sent and a new one that i got. She did pick some of the new food out and ate it. I'm not sure what is going on with that. We went last night and got her a pretty pink collar and leash with some bling;) and a new tag. We renamed her Gracie. She seems to be very happy! Thank you so much!!!

Hi friends at Crabapple Knoll. You knew me as Onyx but I’m now called Rooster. I just wanted to drop you guys a note and tell you how happy I am here with my new family. I’m living with both dogs and cats and I get along with everyone and they get along with me too. My mom says that of all the furkids she has had, that I have acclimated to my new home and life the fastest. I went to the vet for a senior checkup and bloodwork and everything looked good. They added Dasuquin tablets to my wet food for my joints and now can hop up onto the bed without any problem. I love my wet food and while they prepare my dinner I get so excited I can’t stop licking my lips. Just because I’m a little older doesn’t mean that I don’t like to play. I sometimes start the action with the other cats and then we play chase. I also love to sleep with my people and I will groom their hair just like I do to the other kitties. I also wanted to thank you guys for saving my life. I may be long in the tooth but I still have a lot of life to live. If I could I would tell the world of potential adopters not to overlook us “old” guys because we have so much to give back. Be well. Your friend, Rooster.

Angel was at PetSmart this past Saturday for adoption day. There was another group with a ton of puppies for adoption so our group wasn't getting much attention:( Right at the end this family walks up...they lost their dog a couple years ago and the wife was itchin' for a new dog...the hubby was kind of holding back....until he saw Angel! It was love at first sight as she reminded him of his first dog growing up. We are so happy for Angel and know that she will continue to win their hearts!!

This nice gentleman saw "Blackie" on petfinder and came in to see him and possibly adopt b/c he was specifically looking for a black lab mix.  Apparently he has had other dogs of this breed with good success.  Unfortunately, we do not trust Blackie with small children and this man has a 2 year old. So, ofcourse, we had to show Milo!  He is a love bug and it was love at first sight for these two:)

Scraps was found at an abandoned home and brought to us by one of our clients. We took him into our adoption program, and not long after that, his scrappy face and personality won us over and we took him home. He now lives with 2 cats and is really enjoying his new home. This sweet kitty was brought to us a week ago. She is a stray cat who tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus. After running bloodwork we realized she was extremely anemic and it is non regenerative which means it will not improve and will she will only get worse. We decided to euthanize her before she started feeling too poorly. She was a beautiful, very sweet cat and will always be remembered fondly by our staff.

Sweet Bella Donna passed away last night with her new owners. She was only with them since September but you could tell she was deeply loved. We are so thankful to the Janowicz's for taking such good care of Bella Donna during the last few months of her life.

Smokey the kitten...
We received Smokey on Monday March 21st and the people who found him believe he was born March 19th, so he was only 2 days old. They said they saw the momma cat move the whole litter but she never returned for him:( I've been bottle feeding him since Tues March 22 and he is doing great!  He is already up to 5 oz as of April 1st and his eyes started opening on Wed March 30th.  I will keep this album updated with his progress.  He will not be available for adoption until he is at least 6 weeks old.  If interested in adopting, you may leave your name and phone# with the front desk. Mr Beasley was our huge success story for this adoption day!  We had an active elderly couple drop by after seeing us when driving home from a party.  They have been looking for a dog under 30lbs for some time now with no luck.  They instantaneously fell in love with Mr B!!  They changed his name to Willy before they left with him:)
