Welcome to the Greater Woodbridge/Carteret Service Unit Website

Remember to sign in to see member info & pics

Welcome to our site! We're so glad that your family has joined us! Visit us regularly to see what we're up to.

Here are some interesting facts about our Service Unit. The Service Unit covers ten towns: Avenel, Carteret, Clara Barton, Fords, Hopelawn, Keasbey, Menlo Park Terrace, Port Reading, Sewaren and Woodbridge.

Our Service Unit Leadership provides support for the girls and their Troop Leaders. Our Troop Leaders have volunteered to bring the best Girl Scout experience possible to your daughter. They have been trained to plan, implement and evaluate activities with the girls in the troop. But there are many other things that need to be done to have a successful Troop. Your help and support will not only support the Troop's existence, it will let your daughter know that you value and respect what she is doing.

To join Girl Scouts please go to the REGISTRATION page.

Join us in taking the PLEDGE to empower girls.

100th Anniversary Celebration

US Senate Passes Resolution Celebrating Girl Scouts' 100th Anniversary!

Thank you for supporting Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary Resolution by sending a letter to your members of Congress. We're delighted to report that on Monday, March 12th, as Girl Scouts turned 100, the US Senate passed Senate Resolution 310 (S.RES.310)! The resolution designated 2012 as the Year of the Girl and congratulated Girl Scouts of the USA on its 100th anniversary!

In the days surrounding the anniversary, members also gave statements on the Senate floor recognizing the Girl Scouts as an American institution and incubator for women's leadership. Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia remarked that the Girl Scouts "have truly been a voice for all girls" and Senator Johnny Isakson, also from Georgia, called Girl Scouts an "organization of leadership" and read the Girl Scout promise during his statement.

As we began the next 100 years of Girl Scouting, we renew our commitment to support girls' leadership and invite you to join us!  Go to ToGetHerThere.org and sign the pledge to be a leader who inspires girls and:

· Becomes informed, learning why we need to solve this issue for girls today and how a successful female leader positively impacts the world around her.

· Speaks up for supportive environments in my community, such as advocating for healthy media images; helping identify effective mentors; increasing girls' involvement in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); and joining the fight against bullying.

· Invests in girls to invest in our future.

Thanks for your support of Girl Scouting and all girls!
